A Tale Of Revenge And Redemption Chapter 1 1

The giant gate of the beautiful mansion opens widely as Ragnar Evander, who is burdened by the unwanted marriage drives into the compound.

The surroundings of his mansion were beautiful, and adorning. He came out of the car and was angry, he has always been angry ever since married. He detested the very idea of being tied to a woman he never chose, Lyra, his wife, they were mated by the moon goddess, something that he didn't choose.

His footsteps echo a walk through the corridor, he enters the living room, with his stern face, that is how he felt whenever he came back to his house since the day he was forced into this union.

Darius Evander, his father, believed that Lyra's gentle nature would be the remedy for Ragnar's tough and rough way of living, but he couldn't love Lyra, he felt nothing but love towards her.

He proceeded to the bedroom, as he opened the bedroom he fell upon Lyra who was on the bed.

She had a little hope in her eyes and she welcomed him home just to make him happy even though he wasn't always happy with her, she said on the edge of the bed fidgeting her fingers nervously. This was how she felt whenever she was around Ragnar.

"You are back. I was worried because it was late. Welcome back," she greeted sincerely, her eyes seeking approval and affection.

She sat up from the bed and walked to where Ragnar was standing I wanted to help him take off his briefcase, However, Ragnar responded to her harshly as he pushed her aside, causing her to stumble and fall onto the bed. She sat up with sadness in her eyes.

"Lyra, listen to me carefully. I will never love you, no matter what you do," Ragnar declared, his words piercing through her heart. Tears streamed down Lyra's face as the harsh words of Ragnar pierced her heart.

"Ragner..." she whispered, her voice trembling. She was hurt by Ragnar's words.

"You know what, Lyra? I'm tired of this loveless marriage. I don't love you," Ragnar spat out with frustration, the anger in his voice resonating in the room.

"Let's divorce," he added, Lyra stared at him shockingly, she was not ready for a divorce, it was the moon goddess that paired them together, how could he ask for a divorce? She thought.

"No, I disagree. I won't accept this. Please, this is what your father wants," Lyra pleaded, sniffing back the tears streaming down her face. Ragnar's anger lit up when Lyra mentioned his father.

"My father? No, this is not what my father wants. This is what you want. You manipulated my father into making us marry, and now you want to manipulate me," he accused, with bitterness in his voice.

"I've never done anything wrong to you, Ragnar," Lyra said, her defences crumbling against the accusations.

"I'll have to punish you. Strip," Ragnar commanded, harshly as he began removing his clothes.

Lyra's eyes widened in fear, her heart pounding, she had been feeling weak and dizzy for some days now and wasn't strong enough for sex.

"No, please. I'm weak, and I don't think I can have sex tonight," she said truthfully, she was indeed weak, but that alone provoked Ragnar's anger the more hearing her say so.

"What?! You can't even fulfil your duty as a wife?" he snapped, pushing her down onto the bed.

"No, please. I'm weak, and you are always rough when having sex with me, please," she begged, her pleas falling on deaf ears.

"You have to do your duty as a wife," Ragnar said kissing her aggressively on her neck, she knew that she could not struggle even if she wanted to struggle she didn't have the strength to.

She just allowed him to do whatever he wanted as a thrust in on her aggressively.

The next morning, Lyra hurriedly took her bath and headed for work, she needed to attend to important files that needed to be given to the investors ls who were coming today.

Today was indeed a big day for her, she got to work and immediately attended to the paperwork, and when she was done, it was now time for her lunch, she arranged the files and kept them on her desk.

She went to the cafeteria for a quick meal, she was tired from working on the papers.

When she was done from the cafeteria, she headed back to her office and was surprised to see Elara there.

Elara, who Lyra knows bore hatred towards her because of Ragnar. Elara was jealous of her, she wanted the moon goddess to pair her with Ragnar, but it didn't work out as the moon goddess paired Lyra and Ragnar instead.

"What are you doing here in my office Elara?", Lyra asked staring at her cautiously.

"Oh I'm just here to wish you well Lyra on the papers you are working on, you know today is an important day. The investors are coming, and we both need to behave ourselves" Elara said smiling devilishly.

Lyra ignored her and packed the papers instead.

"If that's the bullshit you came here to say, please leave my office," Lyra said sternly.

Elara had her one last stare before exiting the office, Lyra left and exhaled before leaving the office as well, she needed to prepare for the big event.

When she got to the house, she dressed in a sexy simple gown and hurriedly proceeded to the venue.

She entered the hotel and saw Elara strolling alongside Ragnar, their hands entwined, and she saw that Elara had a sly smile when their eyes locked.

Lyra ignored Elara walked to Ragnar and presented the papers to him forcing a smile. Ragnar collected the papers and scanned them one by one, his face changed and all that appeared on his face was anger.

Taken aback by surprise, Lyra saw the look on Ragnar's face and asked him "Is there any problem" she asked confused.

Ragnar angrily throws the files on the ground and stares at her angrily.

"Lyra, you have jeopardized everything with your incompetence. I won't tolerate this. You will face the consequences of your actions," Ragnar said " Lyra was shocked, and it was then it dawned on her that someone had tampered with the files.

"Ragnar, I swear I have no idea of what is going on, Please, believe me," she pleaded. Yet, her cries fell on deaf ears.

"You know how important this event was, and yet you want to spoil it for me" Ragnar spat.

"Ragnar, take it easy on Lyra, maybe she made a mistake," Elara said giving Lyra a wicked smirk.

It was then Lyra realized that Elara could be the one to temper with the papers, was it when she went to have lunch and saw Elara in her office when she arrived? She thought staring at Elara angrily.

"Lyra" I'll punish you for this" Ragnar said firmly. Lyra knew that she couldn't escape this no matter what she did, and it hurt her the more, and now she will have to get punishment from him for the crime she didn't commit.

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch—a titan of industry and my best friend’s father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

I sat on the edge of the examination table, the crinkle of the sanitary paper sounding like thunder in the sterile room. The doctor didn't even look at me as he confirmed the news: the pregnancy was over. My husband, Keyon, didn't answer my call. He just sent an automated text: "In a meeting." When I returned to our cold mansion, I found his iPad glowing with a message from his "muse," Katina. He was throwing her a secret gala tonight-on our third wedding anniversary. He told her he couldn't wait to escape the "boring" and "draining" atmosphere I created at home. Keyon didn't stumble in until 3 AM, smelling of Katina's perfume with a smear of red on his collar. When I handed him the divorce papers, he laughed in my face. He called me a "glorified housekeeper" with no skills and no future, promising I'd be back in three days begging for a subway ticket. He even bet his friends ten thousand dollars that I wouldn't survive a week without his name. He had his assistant cancel my credit cards and block my gate access before I even reached the end of the driveway. He wanted me to starve. He wanted me to crawl. He sat in his office, mocking the "desperate" woman who pawned her three-million-dollar wedding ring for scrap metal just to pay for a meal. I stood on the rainy curb, watching the man I had protected for three years treat my life like trash. He didn't know about the ultrasound I just threw in the bin. He didn't know that while he was calling me "dull," I was the one secretly writing the code that kept his billion-dollar empire from collapsing. As I slid into a cheap Uber, I opened a hidden, encrypted app on my phone. The screen refreshed to a dashboard for an account Keyon didn't know existed. The balance was ten figures long-the accumulated wealth of "Solaris," the world's most elusive tech genius. Keyon thinks he just evicted a parasite, but he's about to find out he just declared war on the only person who can hit "delete" on his entire life.
