Chapter 1 1: Her Pregnancy

New York.

Within the luxurious confines of a billionaire's mansion lies an extravagantly decorated room.

"Smack!"

A resounding slap echoed, leaving the room silent.

With a loud voice, Jerry yelled at me, his girlfriend, making me feel intimidated. I felt the pain and tears rolled down my cheeks.

"You gotta find out who's responsible for your pregnancy cause it can't be me!" Jerry's voice thundered with anger as he quickly pulled up his trousers, his face filled with anger and frustration. Initially, he had invited me over for intimacy.

"You can as well terminate it you know," Jerry suggested, leaning in towards me, attempting to initiate a kiss.

"Crash!"

A noise came from the doorway.

"Who's that? Jerry asked, with worries in his voice.

Earlier, he had asked his housekeeper to bring us a glass of juice, but she had accidentally dropped it on the floor.

"Can't you see? Are you blind or something?" Jerry yelled, as she hurriedly cleaned up the mess.

"I'll never do that! I'm keeping this baby!" l cried out, my voice filled with compassion and determination. Jerry remained unaffected by my tears, his focus is on the mirror, contemplating how to satisfy his urge.

"You can do as you wish. I don't care. You won't ruin my dreams!" Jerry declared, heading towards the door to leave.

Feeling hurt and confused, l was uncertain of what to do. I watched as Jerry walked out of the room, leaving me to my own thoughts.

I stood there, nervous and wiping away my tears. I felt a mix of emotions running inside me: the discomfort caused by the slap, frustration at Jerry's reaction, and fear about what the future held for me and my unborn child. With trembling hands, I reached for a nearby chair and sat on it, feeling exhausted both physically and emotionally.

As I sat there, I couldn't help but reflect on the incident that brought us to this point. I remembered how I came to Jerry's place from the hospital, after confirming my pregnancy. He had called me to be intimate with me, but everything changed when I told him about my pregnancy. I had expected him to be shocked, or maybe even scared, but I never imagined he would react with such anger and violence.

Feeling confused and lost, I wondered who I could turn to for help. I thought Jerry loved me, but it was all deceit.

My aunt wasn't at home, she had traveled to the city to visit her son, whose wife had just given birth. My aunt is known to be strict and not financially buoyant. Jerry had been the one sponsoring my expenses because his father is a billionaire. I knew my aunt would be disappointed in me.

There was someone at the door. It's Jerry, he had returned to his room, banging on the door so loudly that even his housekeeper could hear. Noticing his return, I quickly rose from my seat.

"You! Vivian, or whatever your name is. You're just a girlfriend, so you better know your place!" Jerry yelled, at the top of his voice, gazing at me with anger. I felt really scared and unsure of what to do. I was surprised Jerry referred to me as "just a girlfriend." I couldn't help but wonder about the identity of the girl he had brought with him to his room.

Holding her waist, pulling her close. "This's Olivia, my love," Jerry declared, hugging her tightly. I sat on the bed, feeling confused and shocked by the scene that was happening right in front of me. I couldn't comprehend why Jerry was treating me this way, I felt confused on what to do next.

"Jerry, why'd you do this to me? You know how much I love you," I said calmly, as I watched in disbelief as Jerry and Olivia stood there, exchanging kisses in front of me, while I felt like an outsider in my boyfriend's room. My heart sank as I realized that Jerry had brought another girl into his room, the very place where we used to spend time together. It felt like a betrayal, and I couldn't comprehend why Jerry would do this to me.

"Hahaha, love, you say? Do you love me or my money?" Jerry responded, still focused on Olivia.

As tears filled my eyes, I knew I deserved better than to be treated this way. However, I felt powerless to stand up for myself, especially with Jerry's intimidating presence.

Overpowered by my own emotions, I struggled to find my voice. I wanted to tell Jerry how much he was hurting me, and how much his words and actions were tearing me apart inside. But the words remained stuck in my throat, choked by the weight of my own insecurity and lack of confidence.

As Jerry and Olivia continued to exchange affectionate gestures, I couldn't bear to watch any longer, so I quietly left his room.

Shortly, I returned, forcefully opening the door.

"Hey! What're you doing here again?" Jerry asked, worried I had returned to his room, interrupting his moment.

I had returned to get my phone, searching the entire room if I could see it. Pointing in the right direction. "Are you looking for this?" Jerry asked angrily. I grabbed my phone from him, carried the glass of water close to him, and splashed it on the bed. "You spoiled brat!" I announced on my way out of the room.

Jerry didn't seem to care much about my outburst. He turned his attention back to Olivia, pulling her towards the bed with a wide smile on his face. Enclosing his arms around her, pulling her close to him, as they went towards the bed. Jerry's smile grew wider as he enjoyed the moment, enjoying the company of Olivia. It was exactly what he wanted, before I spoiled his mood with the news of my pregnancy.

But now, with Olivia on his bed, all worries seem gone, and his urge would be satisfied. He showered Olivia with affectionate gestures, his passion evident in every touch. He revealed in the intimacy they shared, finally a full mood of excitement through him.

Meanwhile, I walked by the roadside, confused on what to do next, as I sat at a corner. "Should I go back home and wait for my aunt to return from the city? Or should I go to my friend's place?" I questioned myself, in my own thoughts.

As I sat there, the weight of my decision bearing down on me, I couldn't help but feel a sense of helplessness wash over me. The world seemed to fall upon me as I struggled to comprehend my selections. On one hand, going home and facing my aunt with fear, when she returns. I feared her disappointment and judgment, yet I also longed for her support and guidance during this challenging time. On the other hand, seeking support at my friend's house, I sat there, wondering what the decision I should take.

I wished I could just escape from it all, but I knew deep down that running away wouldn't solve anything. With a heavy heart, I realized I had to confront my reality and make a decision, no matter how difficult it may be.

Crying. "Going to my friend's place is better," I thought, the thought of my aunt's disappointment didn't let me go home and wait for her to return from her trip.

As the day turned into evening, the atmosphere became silent and calm. In a small, old house, I entered my friend's place, feeling nervous. I observed if my friend's parents were back home before I could say anything.

Upon realizing that my friend's parents weren't home, I quietly made my way to her room. As I entered, I found Emily focused on her phone, watching a movie.

Emily's face lit up in surprise at the sight of me in her room. "Hey, what's up, V? How're you doing?" She asked, curious to know. However, as Emily took a closer look at me, she noticed something was off. My usual cheerful look was replaced with a sober expression, and tears were rolling down my cheeks.

Concerned, Emily approached me, gently placing a comforting hand on my shoulder, silently offering me support. "What's wrong my dear?" She asked, with her heart filled with curiosity.

Feeling the warmth of my friend's touch. "I'm fine Emily," I replied, as tears continued rolling down my cheeks.

Emily wasn't convinced. She could sense that something serious was going on, despite my attempt to hide it. She moved closer, her eyes searching my face for answers. "Are you sure everything is okay?" Emily asked again, her concern growing by each passing seconds.

Before I could respond, Emily's eyes were directed to my hand holding my stomach, widening in sudden realization. "Oh my God, Vivian, are you...?" Emily's voice diminished, leaving the question hanging in the air. My heart sank as I nodded slowly, tears filled my eyes.

"I'm pregnant, Emily," I admitted, facing the floor. The weight of my confession hung heavily in the air, the silence broken only by the sound of our collective breaths. Emily's expression softened, her eyes filled with sympathy.

She moved closer to me, enclosing me in a comforting embrace. "Oh, Vivian, I'm really really sorry," Emily whispered softly, her voice filled with genuine concern as she leaned in closer to me. My heart felt heavy as I watched the discomfort noticeable on my friend's face, feeling my own emotions stirring inside.

As Emily's words of comfort washed over me, I felt a sense of relief flood through me. It was comforting to know I wasn't alone in facing this difficult situation.

Suddenly, we heard a noise outside. It sounded like Emily's parents were back home. We listened carefully and heard footsteps thumping loudly, echoing through the house. I felt like I couldn't breathe as I waited nervously. The front door swung open slowly, letting in the fading light from outside. In the doorway stood figures, shown against the dimming light.

Emily's heart raced as she was focused to see who was standing in the doorway. Was it her parents returning earlier than expected? Or perhaps it was just a neighbor stopping by? She exchanged a worried glance with me, both of us unsure of what to expect next.

The figure in the doorway stepped forward, and my breath caught in my throat. It was Emily's parents, they had returned from their outing.

"Emily, Vivian, are you guys okay?" Emily's mother asked, feeling concerned.

Her mother looked at my reddish eye with worry. "Are you okay, dear?" she asked again, feeling worried, as her husband walked into his room.

"We're okay, Mum," Emily reassured her mother, as she was in a hurry to escort me to the door.

"I'll be right back, Mum, let me see my friend off," Emily said, as we both left the house.

Emily, filled with curiosity, asked me about Jerry's reaction to my pregnancy news. She wondered if I had already informed him about it. As we walked together, her heart was full of anticipation, eager to hear all the details about what Jerry had said or expressed. She couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement, hoping for a positive response from Jerry and wondering how he'd react to such news.

"Jerry denied the pregnancy, Emily, he suggested I terminate it, I thought he loved me, but I was wrong," I whispered, as tears rolled down my cheeks again. Emily, who noticed, tried to wipe my face, insisting we were outside, and people could see us.

"How could he do such a thing to you! That's wickedness!" Emily murmured.

"So, what's next now?" she asked, feeling concerned. "I would've to go back home first, and wait for my aunt to return from her trip. I can't go back to Jerry's place. Did you know, he also brought another lady to his room? They even exchanged kisses right in front of me!" I said, with anger in my voice.

"What!" Emily screamed, stunned at what I had told her.
