108 DAYS WITH THE BILLIONAIRE Chapter 1 The Special Guest

Vivienne's POV

"Urghhh." I hate this job, I exclaimed, hitting the front desk in frustration.

"You'd better not injure yourself; your shift is almost over," one of the new workers chimed in with a smile, offering unwanted commentary.

My mind drifted back to the night I lost my dad. If he were alive, my sister and I wouldn't have to go through all this, and I wouldn't have to be here working as if my life depended on it.

"Hey you." The old lady's voice startled me, and I quickly walked towards her; sluggishness was never her thing.

Red View Bar, with its size, had only one manager: the old lady. How she managed every day here was a mystery to me. I hated it here, especially on Fridays.

"What do you think you are doing? Laying your head there, jobless like you don't have things to do? Is this what we are paying you for?"

"I'm sorry, ma'am," I apologized softly, trying to avoid further confrontation.

"Sorry for yourself. The upper club is littered; you know what to do. When you are done, go to the accountant, get your cash, and take your bitter-looking face out of my sight."

I ran towards the door leading to the upper club. I would rather not have an extra issue with her for the day; I wasn't ready for it. I quickly cleaned the room, so I could have time to rest a bit before I finally decided to go home. The journey from here to my house is not child's play.

As I sat down to catch my breath, my phone beeped. I checked the notification, finding a message from a customer from a few days ago. Uncertain of his intentions, I hesitated to respond.

Just as I was contemplating, the door swung open. I jumped up, grabbing the mop, and continued working, not bothering to look at who entered.

"I will give you two options: you either help me with a quick job, or I report you to the old lady," Kathy's voice cut through the air, her tone dripping with arrogance.

To me, she is the most annoying senior staff member in the club, but I wouldn't want to be in her bad books, as she is the old lady's favorite.

"Oh, I don't deserve an answer, right? Good." She turned to leave the room. I thought about my pay for the day and how it would vanish if Kathy really goes to report me. As she was about to open the door, I clenched my jaw, realizing my paycheck hung in the balance. "I'll do it," I reluctantly agreed.

"Good girl, there is a guest in special Bar Two. I served him already, but I need you to be around there in case he needs anything else."

"And why can't you stay there?" I retorted, suppressing my frustration.

"I have something to do, and why should I have to do it when I have a low-class worker like you roaming about?"

At that point, I felt like slapping her, like teaching her a big lesson in life. But I couldn't risk it; I needed that money.

"Okay," I said angrily, walking towards the door.

"And why are you not going with the cleaning tools?" She asked, and I stopped in my tracks.

"You should be able to do that at least." I was already angry. Telling me to pick something she could just easily drop off on her way to the store really got on my nerves.

I finally got to the door of the room. I knocked three times and pushed the door open. I couldn't see anything when I went into the room; it was all dark, but I could hear the soft sound of music playing underneath.

I tried to locate the light switch on the wall, but I was unable to find it.

"Hello, Is anybody here?" I asked loudly, and I didn't get any response. I was already getting scared as thoughts of girls being killed in bars came to my head, and I began to walk towards the door. At least if I can't go further, I can always turn back.

I was about to open the door when I heard the sound of a switch, and the red light reflected towards me. I noticed someone was sitting on the couch, and no matter how scared I was, as a staff member, I had to move closer to the guest.

As I walked towards him, the breeze blew a faint scent of high-end cologne lingering around him. As he casually stirred his drink, I could notice the way he nodded along to the music, showing a hint of a smile that's both charming and enigmatic. The soft glow of the bar lights played on his features, highlighting his classic yet modern appeal.

His whole vibe screamed timeless style and class. Everything about him, I couldn't see him well, but from his outfit to how he carried himself, just oozed effortless sophistication.

"How may I help you?" He asked in a brash tone, but I cared less; special Bar guests were never nice.

"I'm Vivi...." I tried to say.

"I don't ask you for an introduction. How may I help you?" He asked in a harsh tone. "Why is everyone acting so bad today?" I thought. It got to me, but I quickly had to compose myself and continue.

"If you need anything, I will be by the door." I stood there for a few minutes, and I didn't get a sign or a reply as simple as "ok" from him.

"Hey," He said loudly as I turned to walk towards the door, and I walked back to him.

"Get me a glass wiper," He said, and I nodded.

"What the heck is a glass wiper?" I said after shutting the door. I quickly went back to the room where I left Kathy a few minutes ago, and she was nowhere to be found. I decided to pass through the back door when I saw her making out with the old lady's son.

After asking more than a dozen bartenders, I finally got my hand on a glass wiper, and I ran to give it to my guest.

"You could have brought more than three," He said as I bent to drop it on the table.

"Get me a glass cover," He added, and I let out a loud sigh.

Before he could speak, I walked out of the room and returned with a pack of glass wipers, covers, and everything needed for a glass.

"Return everything; I need to see just the bottle on the table," he instructed, his tone leaving no room for argument as I tried to arrange the table for him.

I looked up at him. At that point, I couldn't control my anger anymore.

"I'm sorry, but what is wrong with you? What exactly do you want?" I said loudly, and he stood up immediately to face me.

I could see his face clearly now. He had a strong jawline that could cut through steel, piercing eyes that seemed to see right through me. I felt my legs weaken, but I tried to walk backward.

He let out a smile that melted my tired heart, and that made me stop in my tracks.

"What is wrong with me? What do I want?" He repeated, walking towards me.

"I'm sorry; "I shouldn't have..." Before I could finish my words, he pulled me towards him, and the next thing I felt was his lips on mine.

The soft touch of his lips against mine sent shivers down my spine, igniting a fire of passion and longing I couldn't control within me. Amidst the chaos of the bar and the weight of my responsibilities, his kiss felt like a quick getaway, giving me a taste of something exciting yet forbidden. While my body responded to his touch, a voice of caution reminded me of the potential repercussions of this reckless act. I regained my senses and tried to pull away. But he didn't let me go; his hold on me was tight. I attempted to push him away, but he still didn't release me.

Summoning all the strength within me, I pushed him off, causing him to stumble back. The light from the lamp made his scared eyes stand out. His fall produced a loud noise, followed by a thud when his head hit the table. His eyes were now shut, and he didn't move.

The heavy iron gates of the Wilderness Correction Camp groaned as they released me after three years of state-sponsored hell. I stood on the dirt road, clutching a plastic bag that held my entire life, waiting for the family that claimed they sent me there for "rehab." My brother, Brady, picked me up in a luxury SUV only to throw me out onto a deserted highway in the middle of a brewing storm. He told me I was a "public relations nightmare" and that the rain might finally wash the "stink" of the camp off me. He drove away, leaving me to limp miles through the mud on a snapped ankle. When I finally dragged myself to our family estate, my mother didn't offer a hug; she gasped in horror because my muddy clothes were ruining her Italian marble. They didn't give me my old room back. Instead, they banished me to a moldy gardener’s shack and hired a "babysitter" to make sure I didn't embarrass them further. My sister, Kaleigh, stood there in white cashmere, pretending to cry while clinging to her fiancé, Ambrose—the man who had once been mine. They all treated me like a volatile junkie, refusing to acknowledge that Kaleigh was the one who planted the drugs in my bag three years ago. They wanted to believe I was broken so they wouldn't have to feel guilty about the "wellness retreat" that was actually a torture chamber. I sat in the dark of that shed, feeling the cooling gel on the cigarette burns that covered my arms, and realized they had made a fatal mistake. They thought they had erased me, but I had returned with a roadmap of scars and a hidden satellite phone. At dinner, I didn't beg for their love. I simply rolled up my sleeves and showed them the price of their silence. As the wine spilled and the lies crumbled, I sent a single text to the only person I trusted: "I'm in. Let them simmer." The hunt was finally on.

"You're interesting," he said. "Be my woman, and the city is yours." Hayley raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. "You want to own me? Survive me first." High society became their battlefield. Power collided with desire. Ambition clashed with obsession. In this ruthless game of dominance and temptation, only one would kneel first. The girl once abandoned in hell rose from its ashes, crowned by fire and vengeance—And in the end, even the most feared ruler in the city would bow, offering his empire to the woman who had conquered both hell… and him.
