"I know this dude. I've done my research on him. He's just a clone of their Alpha, nothing but an Omega!" The Alpha declares angrily. "What business do you have with a mere Omega?" On a Thursday morning, a werewolf confronted me while hunting, but my parents fled. Ever since, he's been pressing me to be his mate, but I hadn't given it a thought until I was captured by a wealthy man. A more powerful werewolf, an Alpha, came to my rescue and claimed me as his mate upon reaching his pack. While he hasn't marked me yet, the werewolf who confronted me, seemingly an Alpha as well, sneaked into his pack to escape with me, but he was caught red-handed. Will he be able to claim me as his mate, or will Spartan's power as an Alpha overtake his actions, claiming me instead?

Entangled Between The Alpha And The Omega Chapter 1 Sold To The Rich Wolf

Everest's POV

As I wandered through the woods on Thursday, the day reserved for our hunting trip with my parents, my gaze fell upon a cluster of delicate wildflowers swaying in the breeze. I reached out a hand to pluck one, entranced by their beauty. But as my fingers brushed against the petals, I realized with a jolt that they weren't flowers at all - they were eyes. Wolf's eyes.

My pulse stuttered to a stop as the wolf's form appeared before me, its eyes locking onto mine with an unblinking stare. Its massive paws seemed rooted to the earth, and its gaze held me captive.

My mom's voice echoed through the woods, "EVEREST!!!" - a warning, a plea, a desperate cry for me to run. I tried to move, but my legs wouldn't budge. The wolf crept closer, its pace slow and deliberate, and I felt my breath catch in my throat.

My parents fled, abandoning me to the mercy of the wolf. I was alone, defenseless, and terrified. The wolf's hot breath washed over me, and I knew I was at its mercy.

I ran through the woods, my heart racing as the breeze whipped around me. The rogue wolf's panting grew louder as its footsteps started closing in.

I snapped through the trees as the branches scratched my face, and I could feel the wolf's hot breath almost grappling me.

With my breath hitching, my feet caught a stump, and I fell to the ground. I scrambled up again, running heavily, my legs trembling beneath me, until I clashed into someone passing by.

He stood in front of me, looking surprised. When he saw I what I was scared of, he quickly transformed into a wolf.

His limbs shrunk, and his muscles flexed. His bones reshaped themselves, and a brilliant blue fur sprouted from his skin. His face lengthened, his nose flattened, and his eyes turned a piercing yellow. He let out a mighty roar, and his blue wolf emerged, powerful and sleek, standing protectively between me and the rogue wolf.

He charged at the rogue wolf, and it puffed out its fur, ready to fight. The two wolves met in a flurry of snarls and snaps, and they fell to the ground as they fought. The rogue wolf was larger, but the blue wolf was nimble and evaded its attacks with quick reflexes. The blue wolf quickly bit the rogue's shoulder, causing it to yelp in pain. The fight continued, with the two wolves rolling and tumbling, their fur matting with dirt and leaves as they wrestled.

I stood behind the trees as my heart pounded while I watched the two wolves clash. The blue wolf's attacks were swift and deadly, its blue coat slick with sweat. Finally, it subdued the rogue wolf, pinning it to the ground with its jaws locked around its throat. The rogue wolf whimpered in defeat, and the blue wolf released it, letting it slink away with its tail between its legs.

The blue wolf stood up, panting, and looked around cautiously. Its eyes searched for me, but I hid behind the tree, too scared to show myself. But the wolf moved around the tree, its eyes fixed on me, and stood before me, its tail wagging slowly. I closed my eyes, and when I opened them again, he had transformed back into his human form, standing before me.

A burning sensation surged through him as he gazed at me questioningly. I was an Omega, so it would take a long time for me to feel anything at all. He was trying to find out if I could feel what he was feeling.

He said, "I'm Cayden, and I know you're Everest. Do you not feel how I feel?" and then he firmly pressed his nose into mine.

I responded in a trembling voice, "No, Cayden-I don't know you!"

With my heart still pounding from the experience, I shoved him fast away as I trudged through the woods. As I saw my house in the distance when I emerged from the woods, my mind immediately became at ease.

I walked into the living room and saw mum's face was plastered with fury, and dad's gaze locked with mine. It took me a few moments to figure out who was the person who has been wronged. They really left me to fend for myself in the woods.

"Where have you been?" Dad inquired, sounding a little irritated and edgy.

"In the woods where you dumped me," I snapped back, meeting my father's and mother's gazes with mine.

"We never abandoned you. You simply weren't strong enough to escape with us. Ever since your birth, you have been useless. You were not even accepted into a pack because of this. You should be quite embarrassed of yourself. Not even transforming into a werewolf is possible. Then, how did you manage to get away?" My mother yelled and got up, suppressing her attempt to smack me.

Dad pointed out, "Take a look at her, she cannot even be appealing to any male wolf."

"You never permitted me to train my wolf or join a pack. It is not my fault at all." I looked away from them and shot a small blowback. I was not interested in seeing the looks on their faces.

I hurried off to my room, too hurt to keep listening to their hate speech. I had felt something different, something slightly different when I touched Cayden, but I was too scared to speak up.

As I was trying to sort through my thoughts and figure out what was going to happen next in my life, I heard the living room door slam and a car horn. A few seconds later, I heard some low laughter and a hushed tone.

Curiously, I decided to head downstairs to see what was going on.

My gaze met Bill's, the person we actually dreaded in high school. He was the Crescent Moon Pack's former Alpha, but his extreme wickedness caused him to be overthrown. He possessed everything and was remarkably wealthy. What did he want?

Suddenly, I felt warmth radiating behind me. I turned around to meet my father, and I was frightened.

"I know you've been eavesdropping. Go down the stairs now."

"Dad, what?"

"Go down the stairs!!" He exclaimed furiously.

As I hurried downstairs, I locked eyes with the previous evil Alpha, Bill. He grinned broadly at me and gave me a short, shaky nod of the head as he laughed softly.

I stood in the living room, unsure of what was going on; all I saw were angry looks from dad and a few glances back and forth between mum and Bill.

"She is going to do", Bill said to mum, staring at me from my feet to my head.

"You can take her right away. She's of no value to us at all," mum said, and both she and Bill started laughing again.

"What's going on here?" I asked in my shaky voice.

"Would you keep quiet?" Dad cut me off abruptly when Bill got up, pulling his enormous dog behind him. Mum shoved me behind Bill and we made our way to the car that was parked right outside. Where was I heading towards?

"Mum, please tell me something." I nudged, feeling terror seeping into my flesh. I was perplexed as to how she could be nonchalant - it was the same evil Bill from high school that was here now.

"Go grind your ass to earn a living, Useless Omega. I will never again see your feeble and stupid ass. We're really sick of you." She shoved me into the car while hollering. The car shut and two men came to join me on either side to make sure I wasn't going anywhere.

My hands trembled horribly. The shock was still getting to me. This was too sudden. The worst thing they could do was sell me to the most evil retired Alpha lecturer after leaving me to deal with rogues in the woods?

Bill got in the car, and my heart pounded against my chest. I sat back and drew in a long breath while the car started. My eyes were blurry with tears as I saw my house go into thin air, and my heart began to beat considerably faster. I was finally leaving my parents, but I was going to be in the care of someone else.

As the car slid into the gliding streets, my heart burned with anticipation for whatever Bill had in store for me.

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch—a titan of industry and my best friend’s father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband’s Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn’t find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn’t even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father’s legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn’s party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara’s health and managing every detail of Caden’s empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I’d drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause—if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I’d forgotten.
