My Obsessive Husband Chapter 1 1

CHAPTER 1

TYRON was busy reading the report for the expansion of the Zapanta Hotel in New Zealand when his secretary entered his office. He didn't look up even though he knew he was already in front of his desk because he was busy with what he was doing.

"Yes?" He said without looking up.

"Sir, Mrs. Zapanta is in line four. She was persistent to talk to you."

He heaved a deep sigh and then he grabbed the cord of the telephone.

"Thanks, Lara." He said to his secretary before he answered the call.

He waited for his secretary to leave before answering the call.

"Good morning, mom." His voice greeted her cheerfully.

"Good morning to you too, son." The mother's voice was tinged with a smile. "Anyway, I was called because I wanted to ask you what date you will be coming home to Panggasinan for Christmas and New Year?"

He let out a deep breath. "Mommy, I'm busy. I can't go home, I'm doing a lot here at the office."

Ever since his father retired, he managed all their businesses. At the age of twenty three, the responsibility of managing their company was placed on his shoulders. his sister Kreiya did not want to help him. And then he and his wife Sky are on their honeymoon in Europe.

"Son, how are you? It's a holiday. Can't you take a day off?" There was sullenness in his voice. "Please child, our relatives from abroad will come and have a reunion because after ten years the whole family will be complete. Even your godmother Grace will come home to be with us for Christmas and the new year."

He rolled his eyes. "Mom, Grandma Grace is coming home because her husband just died and she has to leave. It has nothing to do with me."

"Son, don't say that." His mother scolded him. "Your godmother is not like that. We talked on the phone and they will be coming home on December 23. They will stay at our house."

his face was wrinkled. "They?"

"Yes. Her daughter is coming with her."

"Oh. Okay" He replied briefly.

"So, when are you coming home?"

He picked up the candle. He has reasons why he doesn't want to go home for Christmas. because he and his girlfriend, Careen, were talking about going to Boracay for Christmas and El Nido for New Year. He promises and he doesn't break a promise, but his family is the replacement.

"Son, are you going somewhere for Christmas?" his mother asked from the other line when he didn't speak.

He sighed again. "Mom, I have a plan with Careen." He didn't want to lie to his mother. "I promise to her that we're going to Boracay this Christmas and in El Nido for New Year."

the mother on the other line was speechless then she spoke, no emotion in her voice. "Okay. Have a happy holiday." After saying 'non' he cut the call.

His stomach hurt. Her mommy seems sullen because she won't be going to the reunion. he wants to but he has already made a promise to Careen.

"Hey, oh my." He leaned his back against the back of the swivel chair and closed his eyes. "I hope Mommy's sulk goes away soon." I wish.

He was restless so he called his mommy using his cell phone.

"Mom?" he said when he answered his call.

"Yes?" His voice was emotionless.

"I just want to explain why I can't go home-"

"No need." There was no emotion in his voice, he was clearly angry with her. "And if you called to find out if I was sulking, yes, I was sulking because you chose that girl over your family-"

"Mom, that girl has a name and her name is Careen."

"Please don't interfere. I still don't like her. I don't even know why you like her. she looks like a tramp! If you don't want me to sulk, go home, because if you don't, I won't kill you until I die!"

He looked at the cell phone screen when the mother on the other line disappeared. It looks really angry and sullen.

he was restless that his mother was sulking, so he called Careen.

"Hey, babe. Miss me?" Careen spoke softly to answer his call.

"Hey babe." He took a deep breath before speaking. "Babe, mom called."

"And?" There's haughtiness in her voice. same as her mom, she doesn't like her mother either. "Whatever he said, just please, make sure it's good to hear."

"She wants me to be with them this Christmas and New Year."

Silence reigned on the other line, a few seconds passed before he spoke.

"What are our plans for the Holiday?" This is a straight question. "Don't tell me you're going to change me at that reunion? That mommy of yours is always a villain!"

He was a little annoyed by what he said. Doesn't it make sense? "Babe, they are my Family. And she is my mom. don't talk to him like that. Please, understand. Only now will our family be complete after ten years-"

"Don't go home! Buwesit! Take care of your life!" He shouted and hung up. "Oh, by the way, let's break! Get fat! Get together with our villain!"

Shaking, he placed the cell phone on the table and sighed. Careen's behavior is not very good, especially when she doesn't get what she wants. And it's always 'let's break' its mouth when it doesn't follow what it wants. she had gotten used to his behavior because they had been dating for three years. Her screaming and breaking up with him is not new to him.

careen has been his girlfriend for three years and she's a psychologist, but sometimes, she doesn't act like a psychologist, she acts like an unprofessional person who doesn't understand people.

But her anger can't change his decision. he has to go home if his mommy doesn't really sulk. Then he will fix whatever problem he and his girlfriend have.

Raine's eyebrows went up when the pilot announced that the plane they were on was about to land. honestly speaking, he wanted to leave Canada but his Mommy forced him to go on vacation with them in the Philippines.

She knows that he brought her together because he didn't want her to be alone. Ever since her father died from Heart attack, she always feels alone. she was a Daddy's girl.

"Try to smile, Raine." His mommy said when the plane landed and the passengers got out one by one.

She forced a smile on her face. "Like this?" She will bet her life that it looks so fake.

Her mother grimaced. "How about a genuine smile?"

She rolled her eyes. "Mom, you can't force me to smile when there is no reason for me to smile."

"Son, smile. You might be mistaken for a snob." His mommy said while he was looking in the mirror and adjusting the make up on his face.

She smiled at that. His mommy still beats him when it comes to coloring his face. aside from face powder, lipstick and blush on, she doesn't put anything on her face. It's not that she doesn't want to, maybe she just got used to not using it, especially when she was with her Daddy.

when she was in grade school up to middle school, she was boyish and was once mistaken for a tomboy by her own mother. He only stopped suspecting that he was gay when High School came and he had a Boyfriend.

She gave out a deep sigh. "Mom, when are we going home?"

today is December twenty-three.

"We've just arrived, Raine." His mother let out a deep sigh, she seemed to have given up on him and stood up. He turned to her before walking away. "I will take care of the boxes and you'll take care of our luggage." he said, pointing to their luggage that was just above their seats.

She nodded grimly. Luggage. Argh!

"And, speak Tagalog." Her mom added then she walked out of the plane.

He nodded even though his Mommy didn't see it. It's not difficult to speak Tagalog. he lived that was the language they used inside the house. They only speak English when they are outside the house.

He took a few breaths before he took their bags from the luggage compartment. the first thing he slung over his shoulder was the sling bag that contained all his gadgets, the next thing he slung was his big backpack that contained his clothes, then he slung it over his other shoulder was his Gray sling bag that contains personal things likface powder, lipstick, etc.and lastly, the heaviest of all is their large luggage that is not on wheels. Good thing you can pull it.

When he got off the airplane, he immediately made his way to the exit. Of course, the bags have to be checked that's why he put everything they brought in the scanner.

after their bags came out from the scanner, he counted them. He frowned when he noticed that his black sling bag that contained all his gadgets was missing and it was replaced by a black sling bag that was also small. Her heart thumped in panic. No! My laptop!

she quickly looked around, when her eyes saw a woman walking towards the exit carrying a black sling bag the same size as hers, she turned to the Guard guarding the scanner.

"Please watch first, Sir. Someone else got my bag."

she frantically looked around to look for the woman who has her sling bag and when her eyes settled on her, she quickly ran between them. He doesn't care if he runs into someone or anything. her Laptop was in that bag and she will have it back by hook or by crook.

"Ma'am!" He shouted that the woman was only a few meters away from him but she didn't turn around. "Ma'am!"

he ran even faster and when he was so close, his body hit a hard lump and in an instant, he lost his balance and he only realized that he had fallen but instead of falling on the pavement, he looked down on the person he bumped into.

in a disoriented state, he didn't care to sit and look around.

Raine gasped when she saw the woman-with her sling bag-meters away from her. It was too far but he didn't care. He quickly stood up and chased the girl again. My laptop!

Tyron's lips were still swollen shut as he lay on the floor of the Airport. That girl! She crashed into him and she didn't even apologize! And what's even more annoying, the woman sat on his groin! Fuck it!

Because of that woman, he's now housing a massive boner!

He shook his head and stood up then straightened his slightly soiled clothes.

His eyes wandered around the Airport, and then it settled on the woman who crashed into him. She was talking to a middle age lady and she was pointing the direction towards the bag scanner.

is it in a hurry because someone else got its bag?

He didn't know how many minutes he stood there looking at the woman who was still talking. He shook his head and sighed. When did he return to the waiting area?

Before leaving, he glanced at the woman one last time. he didn't see much of his face, he only remembered the clothes he was wearing. She was wearing a cardigan and she had a colored black-pink scarf around her neck.

There's a part of him that wanted the woman to look his way so he could see her, but sadly she didn't.

you shouldn't be thinking that! You have a freaking girlfriend! Tyron scolded himself and returned to the waiting area where his Mommy and Daddy were waiting for Grace and her mother.

When he got back there, he was there waiting.

"Tyron! Where have you been?" his mother asked hostilely.

He glanced back at where he came from. "You told me to look for Ninang Grace, remember?" He is scientifically proven.

"Yes it is." Again this. "C'mon, I'll introduce you to your Aunty."

Oh, so what we've been waiting for is here. and this is what happened when you met your own godmother in Skype and years later, she forgot what you look like.

He just sighed. early in the morning, his mommy called that she was at the bottom of her condo and was taking him to the airport because she said that Ninang Grace and her son were going to pick them up. And of course, as a good son, he went along.

the mother grabbed him by the arm and pulled him towards the front of a woman who was a bit older but her beauty was still obvious.

"This is your Godmother Grace." Introducing his mother. "Grace, this is my son and your adopted son, Tyron."

He smiled and hugged her. "Nice to meet you, Tyron. You're so big. I want you to meet my daughter, Raine-" Her words hung in the air like a floating balloon. "Wait, where is that kid?" His voice was full of surprise.

His godmother Grace looked around to find her son. His eyes stopped at the woman walking towards them. He couldn't see her face because her face was covered by her curly hair.

He didn't show the shock he felt at the woman. The woman was wearing the blank-pink scarf. that's the woman who crashed into him earlier! She's Raine? What a coincidence.

"Raine, what happened to you?" His mother's voice was full of concern as the woman approached.

Still, he can't see her face. Her curly hair is covering half of her face. Damn!

"I'm fine, mom." her voice sounds soft yet callous. "Something happened in the bag scanner but its fine now."

"Awww, sorry sweetheart." Aunt Grace cooed her daughter. "I thought you had it under control."

"Yeah, like I can control one backpack, two sling bags and one very big luggage. It's all under control." her voice was thick with sarcasm and it made him smile a little. Even his mother smiled.

"Sorry, sweetie." Aunt Grace hugged it. "Next time, I'll help."

"No." It broke free from its mother's embrace. "Next time, I'll take care of the box and you take care of the luggage."

"Fine." Aunt Grace breathes out. "Anyway, meet your Aunt Marian, your Uncle Tim and their son Tyron."

The girl shook hands with her parents and when he confessed to her, she looked up and his butterscotch eyes met her Argentine ones.

He can't look away, he didn't even blink! he just stared at her unworldly ethereal face. The woman has a heart-shaped face. She has a straight cute nose. Her lips were ruddy and kissable. His hair is curly and dyed blue. But the color of his hair is different because only the ends have color. and of course, her magnetizing Argentinian eyes. They look so surreal and unearthly yet so pretty ... so beguiling.

With all the thoughts that's running on his mind at the moment, only one dominated. Damn, I am in so much danger.

when their eyes locked, all Raine could think was how handsome this man is. His messy tousled hair, his butterscotch eyes, his proud pointed nose, his sinful thin and soft looking lips, his stubborn jaw line, his well-toned body ... everything about this man screamed gorgeousness.

his handsomeness can be compared to a model that can make a woman drool in just a simple smile.

"Hi." He croaked then he cleared his throat. "Tyron Zapanta," He stretched his hands at her. "Your, ahem, Raine?"

He hesitated to accept her hand but in the end he shook her hand.

he took a sip. "Raine ... Raine Lynn Dizon." He said and quickly grabbed her hand when he felt a strange warmth from it and returned to his mother's side.

Her heart was not beating in its normal pace. the way her heart beat fast, like that from a five hundred kilometer marathon.

"Breakfast, anyone? It's still early." Tito Tim asked while looking at Tita Marian who was talking to her Grandma.

"Sure. I'm hungry." His mommy said.

"Yeah, me too." Aunt Marian's second. "I woke up this morning because I was too excited to pick you up."

Tyrone groaned. "Tell me about it."

Because he was looking at Tita Marian, he saw his mother glare at him and give him a bad look. The man just shrugged and looked away.

"C'mon, let's go." Tito Tim said and guided them towards the parking lot.

As he pulled the large luggage to the parking lot, Tyron walked beside him and took the luggage from his hands.

"Let me." It said.

So this is a gentleman. He commented in his mind.

he no longer acted. He quickly gave her the luggage which made her laugh softly.

"So excited to get rid of the luggage, huh?"

"It's heavy."

"Yeah. It's heavy." He said and moved the hold of the luggage to his right hand.

She gave him a sideways glance. "Thanks."

he walked quickly and led her to the parking lot. He didn't want to come near it because his heart was like doing parkour with its very fast heartbeat.

What is happening to me? He is not like this with the men he knows. Her boss can be compared to Adonis. if he is not Adonis himself. But his heart didn't do cartwheels when he was near. What makes Tyron different? And he even recognizes it!

Maybe because he smells great. Answered a part of his mind.

He shook his head. Whatever.

"Raine, ride with Tyron." Tito Tim said making him stop walking.

What the hell?

"C'mon." He heard Tyron say and he approached the car parked next to Tito Tim's car then he opened the passenger seat and looked at him. "Get on board."

he had no choice but to get into his car.

PROLOGUE "Mom, is that you?" I asked when I could get out of the bathroom. I took a bath because it's late and I don't want to sleep sweaty, because I'm sticky. "Ma?" .I repeat because of the faint sound I hear from the window, it's raining hard now and it still hasn't stopped since yesterday. I heard a crack in the window again but I just ignored it. .Maybe it's just leaves flying because of the strength of the wind, I also don't want to look because I'm scared. Maybe what creature I see there. I just lay down on the bed and leaned my head on its headboard and because I had a towel on my head my hair was a bit pulled. "Ah!" .I was stunned by the loud thunder and I accidentally knocked over my cellphone which was just on the side table, at the same time an envelope was dropped and its contents were scattered. One by one I picked it up and marveled at its contents. Where did it come from? What is it for? This is my photo! .my eyes widened when I saw that, it was my picture where I was taking a bath before. I have no cover here in the photo while facing the shower. I felt very nervous because I didn't know who took the picture of me? He's voyeurizing me! .I crumpled the picture I was holding and looked at the other photos again, I cried because it was disgusting to know that he was watching me while taking a bath and what's worse is that he was taking a picture of me! It might suddenly appear on social media and go viral, I'm scared. .there was a small piece of paper tucked inside the envelope so I immediately opened it which I wish I hadn't done because there was a message there. You're so sexy as f'ck .

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband’s Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn’t find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn’t even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father’s legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn’s party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara’s health and managing every detail of Caden’s empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I’d drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause—if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I’d forgotten.

I stood at my mother’s open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest’s voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone—he brought Charla with him. He claimed she’d had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch—a titan of industry and my best friend’s father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

My five-year-old daughter was dying in the ICU, her heartbeat replaced by the continuous, electronic scream of a flatline. I gripped her cold hand, my throat sealed shut by a terror so absolute I couldn't even cry out. I dialed my husband Grayson's private number, the one reserved only for me and his assistants. He declined the call instantly. A second later, a text buzzed against my palm: "In a meeting. Do not disturb. Stop calling." Five miles away, Grayson was at a luxury gala, adjusting his silk tie and laughing with Belle Escobar. He told her I was just being "dramatic" and using our daughter's "fever" as an excuse to avoid the event. He had no idea Effie's heart had already stopped. When I finally reached our penthouse, soaked from the rain and carrying Effie's small socks in a plastic bag, Grayson didn't even look at me. He snapped at me for ruining the hardwood floors and asked if I'd left Effie with the nanny just to "feel sorry for myself." Three days later, while I buried our daughter in a small, lonely ceremony, Grayson was at the Hamptons. Belle posted a photo of him golfing with the caption: "A mental health day with the boys." He didn't even attend the funeral, but he returned home demanding I clear out Effie's room to make a study for Belle's son. The injustice burned through me until there was nothing left. I swallowed a handful of sleeping pills, desperate to join my daughter. But instead of the darkness, I woke up to blinding lights and the scent of Grayson's expensive cologne. I was standing in a ballroom, wearing a blue silk dress I had already burned. Above me, a banner read: "Happy 5th Birthday Kaiden & Effie." I was back, exactly one year before the tragedy. This time, I wasn't going to be the grieving wife. I was going to be their worst nightmare.
