Chapter 1 The broken Alpha

"I reject you Olivia, daughter of Klaus and heir to the silver pack"

Those lines still ring in my head. The words he spew out in public made me quiver.

The thought of the man I went through hell to be with. I cried in pain as the memory of a few hours ago refreshes.

His devious smile, his battered teeth as he rip off the flesh of wolves. The daring glare that lingers around his face.

His eyes that blaze like fire. His claws dug into the flesh of others on his way.

Every tread he took like a leopard towards made me quiver. It was a marriage union turned into a bloodshed.

I was responsible for the war. Here I was in the woods, lost and wandering, with my white dress stained with blood and mud.

The cool breeze swept dried leaves on me, cobwebs covered my face as I stride deeper in the woods.

Coyotes yaps and fox snicker while the creepy sounds of insects tingle my ears.

Tears had clouded my eyes as I was a fool for love. His soft lips napping my neck and how he made me moan whenever we mated under the moonlight was something I couldn't forget.

"She sold us!"

Their devastated voices cried. Those were the voices of my pack members who trusted me, and were ready to give their lives for me.

However, I disappointed them just to please a wolf who belongs to no class.

He was an omega whom I fell in love and made him rise to power.

A man who I blindly defended even though it was against the rules to have a low caste mate. I claimed it would breach the gap between the high and low.

Sadly, it was the greatest mistake ever. The dress I was putting on belonged to my mother.

Oh the smile on her face when she realized I was finally getting married.

Her blessings were unending, and it gave me hope that I would rule together with the man who has my heart.

That smile was no longer there when he staged an attack. The fire that engulfed my pack and the howls of pups were still lucid to me.

"We should have never let a woman rule us!"

The gammas pointed out as some of them were devoured before my face. I had to stoop so low and beg at his feet not to hurt anyone.

Oddly enough, he mocked me to watching my pack burn to the ground for my sake. I never thought he would be so cruel and heartless.

He did well to pretend that he loved me when he never did.

Always giving me butterflies, showing fake affection that even the devil could buy it.

That mean wolf tore my mother to shreds right before my eyes. He captured the women and juveniles as slaves while flushing out the rest of wolves.

It was a massacre and made my heart wax hot. My regret was that I could do nothing to save them, as guilt ate me up.

The eolian sounds the wind made drew me back to reality.

Where I stood was quiet, lonely, and dark. I couldn't concentrate.

I fell to the ground, weeping and holding my lower abdomen which gushed out blood, I was shot by an arrow containing wolfs bane.

He shot me with his hands, spat in my face and whispered;

"Fucking you was fun"

The humiliation and embarrassment I faced because of him.

Love was blind, and I never wanted it to happen to me again.

The voices of pups howling and gnashing their teeth.

I couldn't move, and I was stucked, leaning on a trunk and breathing hard.

I would rather not die yet because I wanted revenge, I wanted to torture him and hang his head.

While lost in my evil and painful thoughts, I met him. A devil, I must say, trailing towards me.

He appeared like the wind, pacing towards me, his dark boats clomping at me. His appearance caused a great turmoil in the woods.

My vision was blurry and I couldn't see his face clearly. Though, I doubt if he had a face because he was partly covered with a hue.

wearing a dark coat that had scrolls pilled up as though they were designs.

I frets, panting softly, I was unable to move, yet I tried to defend myself.

I attempted to morph into a wolf, but the poison moving in my body stopped me.

My lips couldn't utter a word as he stooped to my level and scoffed.

"We're the same, revenge, that's all we need" he screeches, and it caused cold running down my spine.

Faceless and covered with hues, I feared that I might die from being afraid.

"Who...are...yo.u" I stuttered and groaned from pains.

The poison had gotten close to my heart, and I begged in my heart that he should save me.

"They call me the devil and I can grant your wish if we make a deal" his voice echoed and I felt feverish.

I heard of him, a demon who could grant your wish if you trade your soul.

People who made a deal with him never survived.

Though, I was ready to save my pack and prove to the wolverine society that a woman could rule.

All I wanted was to reverse the destruction he caused.

Rumor has it that he plays with your mind and emotions.

He always appeared to people distressed and those seeking revenge. This devil found me rightly.

He kissed his teeth, nodded his head and brought out a scroll from his coat which he placed on my thighs.

He inhaled me and bowed his head in the direction of my wound which drool out blood.

Everything was happening fast, and I had no chance to ask questions.

Quickly, without my permission, he dug his fingers into my wound and I growled loudly with pain as my brown eyes turned mauve while my fingers morphed into claws.

I could see countless events and scenes playing in my head.

All because of him, I was making a deal with the devil, all because of him.

Furs began to pop out of my body as I shook terribly, unable to control my visions and movement.

I felt him holding my index finger and causing me to draw a signature on the scroll.

He was a man of few words, they often say, but filled with horrific deeds.

He never takes permission before corrupting one's mind.

"Read the rules, warnings, and time on the scroll you've got, we just signed a blood covenant"

Those were his last words to me, I swallowed hard, attempting to ask a question, and he vanished just the way he surface.

I felt unease, mixed emotions and nausea inside, holding my dress in pain, I writhed and after a while, I clearly remember giving up the ghost.

"Ready? 1...2...3! Go!"

I spur my eyes opened, perturbed by that husky voice.

My ears detected instinctive voices echoing in the background.

As soon as I opened my eyes, blinding lights flooded me and I had to use my palms to cover my face to prevent the lights.

My feet stuttering backward, but then I felt a strong arm around my waist.

It was a manly arm and I dare not to look around. My body quacks as his warmth seam through what I wore.

His breath fanned the back of my neck, and I had a taste of mint.

He held me from falling. I was pinned to his chest, and then I felt his nose and lips caress the skin on my neck.

Ticklish and nervous, It got me hypersensitive as I tried to break out of his hold, but he wasn't letting go.

Lowering my eyes down, I discovered I was putting on something different, a blue crop top and a short dark skirt that exposed my thighs.

I needed to protect myself from these humans and as I tried to switch into a wolf.

This stranger suddenly shoves me around and gave me a ravishing kiss that consumed my thoughts.

My red eyes switched back, and I noticed that he was staring at me, locked his fingers with mine while exploring my mouth with his.

I didn't get a chance to see him properly as a lot rang through my head.

For a moment, my world stopped, time didn't tick, and the voices faded away. I was stuck with only him in this universe.

Annoyingly, I pushed him away to terminate the kiss and breathe hard.

How dare he? If only he knew how I detest men after going through all the pains.

I found it hard to think as voices crowded me, clicks from cameras.

Where the hell was I? The last time I recall, I was in the woods, and now I was here?

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband’s Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn’t find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn’t even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father’s legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn’s party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara’s health and managing every detail of Caden’s empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I’d drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause—if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I’d forgotten.

I was finally brought back to the billionaire Vance estate after years in the grimy foster system, but the luxury Lincoln felt more like a funeral procession. My biological family didn't welcome me with open arms; they looked at me like a stain on a silk shirt. They thought I was a "defective" mute with cognitive delays, a spare part to be traded away. Within hours of my arrival, my father decided to sell me to Julian Thorne, a bitter, paralyzed heir, just to secure a corporate merger. My sister Tiffany treated me like trash, whispering for me to "go back to the gutter" before pouring red wine over my dress in front of Manhattan's elite. When a drunk cousin tried to lay hands on me at the engagement gala, my grandmother didn't protect me-she raised her silver-topped cane to strike my face for "embarrassing the family." They called me a sacrificial lamb, laughing as they signed the prenuptial agreement that stripped me of my freedom. They had no idea I was E-11, the underground hacker-artist the world was obsessed with, or that I had already breached their private servers. I found the hidden medical records-blood types A, A, and B-a biological impossibility that proved my "parents" were harboring a scandal that could ruin them. Why bring me back just to discard me again? And why was Julian Thorne, the man supposedly bound to a wheelchair, secretly running miles at dawn on his private estate? Standing in the middle of the ballroom, I didn't plead for mercy. I used a text-to-speech app to broadcast a cold, synthetic threat: "I have the records, Richard. Do you want me to explain genetics to the press, or should we leave quietly?" With the "paralyzed" billionaire as my unexpected accomplice, I walked out of the Vance house and into a much more dangerous game.
