BRIDE OF ENEMY (ENGLISH) Chapter 1 ONE

The handsome man in the black suit was kicking an older man in the stomach. The old man couldn't fight back anymore, as his body was about to crumble and his face was full of wounds.

"The cold-faced, handsome man took out a handgun under his coat and pointed the trigger at the old man's head. The old man just surrendered because this was the risk of embezzling money from the company. And the owner of the company was delivering death for him. When he wanted to release the trigger, a scream was heard from the doorway of a petite girl with straight hair and deep black eyes with a half-fearful soul who broke through the bodyguard who almost killed her father.

"Stop it." With a little courage, she stopped the man.

The man turned around and looked at the person who dared to stop him. Their eyes briefly met as she spoke again.

Please don't kill my father; just take your revenge on me. To do anything, I won't fight you." the woman sobbed because she couldn't see her father suffer.

"Huff, miss, I didn't expect you to be the son of this old fart." The man looked back at the old man, who was lying helpless due to the beating by Alaric's men.

"Are you sure you want to endure what this old fart did?" the man asked disdainfully at the woman in front of him.

''I'm sure whatever it is, I will bear it," the woman said very confidently, without thinking that the one in front of her was a demon.

"No, baby, you can't bear what my father did," the old man said to his son haltingly.

The woman just shook her head and smiled back to reassure her dad that she would be fine.

"What are you going to replace it with? I don't need a maid or a prostitute because I can pay them." The man said again to test what this weak woman in front of him would do.

Tasya raised her head with a little courage and left. The woman replied, "With my life, it will be yours."

"Okay, interesting enough, don't regret what you said; your life will now be mine." The man grinned. A grin that had a thousand meanings behind it.

"You don't know what's in it for you. Just kill him, cut off his hands, and shoot him who dares to run away with my money." The man ordered his confidants to kill his insubordinate men. As if he could kill anyone who dared to oppose him.

He was a cold-blooded man, the most feared mafia member for his cruelty, and who knows how many lives died on his stairs? Unfortunately, he was a man who was created with good looks, like a Greek god.

With golden hair and eyes, and bright brown eyes that can even paralyze one's nerves when looking at him. A sharp nose with a strong jaw and lips that are red like Cherry's. Who would believe that he was a mobster? Even his face does not have everything that is in the character of a real mobster.

Let me emphasize that the mobster's name is Alaric Alvaro, a man who is quite mature because he is now 27 years old, an age that can be said to be quite young, and it can be said that he is quite successful. In addition to his work as a mobster, he also founded many nightclubs and hotels, and even his face is familiar to business people.

"Our boss killed Shawn on his orders, and we threw his body into the lake," the bald man in the black suit said with his head bowed.

"Fast work and good enough; I'll add to your bonus. Now you can go." Alaric shooed the man away, and his hand moved to take a cigarette and light it.

Looking out over the city of Manhattan from the suite room of his hotel. You would think that his house is in the middle of the city, but you are wrong; he is not that stupid when his life is in danger from other mobsters. He has a house in the middle of the forest, even though no one knows his residence other than his bodyguards, even if anyone dares to break into his street.

Then they will end up in a steep ravine or die as wild animals.

Alaric comes from an unlucky family; his mother died by suicide. Alaric's father is a man who likes to play with women. God knows how many prostitutes his father has brought since he was a child. Alaric is a child whose body has a mentality that cannot be said to be good. his life every day has to see his father who fucks a bitch in front of his face, even though his age at that time was still unable to know what happened.

Not to mention his mother who liked to beat him, when he did naughty things that could be considered normal for a child his age.

Alaric ran away when he was 17 years old from an orphanage. At that time he worked to support his life until he met someone who could be considered a grandfather to him, the grandfather introduced him to this underground work.

Illegal work because here in the arms trade worth hundreds and even billions, Since then. he is the most feared leader of the mafia, especially with his shooting skills and assembling bombs.

Alaric drove the car to his residence. The shiny black Ferrari entered a forest, without feeling any difficulty even though if one followed his path, one would be confused by the many branching roads.

Alaric entered the gate of his house, the gate of his house had no guards because Alaric used a special sensor security system for him while the guards had to use their fingerprints to get access to enter.

The yard was quite large with a garden filled with red and black roses that clung to one wall of his house and some were planted in the garden as decorations to beautify his yard.

Two guards were guarding the main entrance, Alaric stepped through without a single smile on his face.

Ring, ring, ring The cell phone in his pocket suddenly rang, disturbing his peace.

"What!" Alaric stretched the person who called him on the other end.

"Slow down men, you look like an insatiable man" Sean who was on the other side laughed at his best friend's cold nature.

''What are you calling me for" Alaric grunted in annoyance as he climbed the stairs to his room.

"I just wanted to take you out partying and looking for women." Sean was Alaric's best friend

"Alright, I'll see you at the usual club," Sean spoke again, not wanting to hear Alaric's answer first.

"I'm not in the mood for another night." Alaric refused and immediately disconnected the phone line

Alaric took off the clothes he was wearing, and stepped into the shower, immersing himself in his luxurious black marble Jacuzzi.

After dressing Alaric went downstairs to enjoy dinner, the chef had served a variety of dishes that he could not possibly finish. Alaric was used to eating alone at a large table. he did not like to eat without someone accompanying him, but he did not want to show his weak side. so he had been educated like this.

After finishing his dinner. Alaric left the dining table unceremoniously and climbed the stairs that led to the west. Where his study was located, Alaric opened a door made of wood the sight of various books was in his private library. but that was not the purpose Alaric pushed a wooden bookshelf until it moved. there was a glass door covered with a strict security system Alaric entered his fingerprints and face detector. and the glass door opened.

There was a glass workbench and a leather chair. Alaric sat down in his chair and picked up the remote control and pointed it at the screen in front of him. A display appeared showing the activities taking place in his headquarters. and the various CCTV cameras installed in the house were not spared.

Alaric opened the financial report of his hotel, he felt that there was something a little strange about the expenses in the report he was reading. Alaric was not a stupid person even though he knew that sycophantic dogs were working in his company all this time, how could he be deceived?

He smiled a smirk appearing on his cold face his hands clenched hard. and slammed the file on the floor.

"You want to play with me? Then I'll show you how to play properly." A deadly grin broke out on his face.

I stood at my mother's open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest's voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone-he brought Charla with him. He claimed she'd had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.

My bank account showed exactly $42.18, and my student loan notifications were flashing red. I lived in a sweltering Queens apartment with my Aunt Lydia, where the air was thick with the smell of stale frying oil and the constant threat of being homeless. Lydia handed me a grainy photo of a man twice my age and told me she had already "sold" me to him. He was a dry cleaner looking for a wife, and in exchange for my hand, he would pay off her credit cards and my debt. If I didn't show up for the date that night, my boxes would be on the curb by midnight. I arrived at the cafe in a state of panic, my selective mutism making it impossible to even breathe. In the crowded room, I accidentally sat at the wrong table. Instead of the man from the photo, I found myself facing Gerhard Holcomb—the cold, terrifyingly handsome billionaire whose family owned the very museum where I worked. He didn't send me away; instead, he studied my trembling hands and offered me a different deal: a two-year contract marriage, a two-million-dollar payout, and a strict clause forbidding any children. I signed the papers and moved into his Park Avenue penthouse, thinking I was finally safe. But when I went back to the old apartment to retrieve the only memento of my dead parents, Lydia lashed out, leaving me bleeding from a head wound. Gerhard’s retaliation was absolute—he had her arrested and her building foreclosed on within hours, claiming he was simply "protecting his assets." As I recovered in his silent, glass-walled home, I saw a call from a famous socialite flash on his phone, and a cold truth settled in my gut. I wasn't just a wife; I was a placeholder, a silent shield used to fend off the women from his past. I looked at the massive pink diamond on my finger and realized the silence I had lived in my whole life was about to become my most expensive prison. I had traded a life of poverty for a high-stakes game of shadows, and now I had to survive the man who claimed to own me.

SHANA GRAY

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.
