Chapter 1 Burns The Soul

"No need aunt I also want to go to the stall, I haven't called Gita yet to meet Yunus. Oh yeah, don't tell Uncle Zoel about the two of them, okay? Just the two of us know, I impossibly tell Yunus either." she asked.

"Okay mamih don't worry, you can trust Aunt." Olga nodded.

They both smiled at each other and walked towards the stall, Olga asked aunt to call Gita and Rendy to the stall.

Olga doesn't want Yunus to know about, Rendy and Gita's intentions to destroy her and Yunus' relationship. Olga is afraid that Yunus will do something beyond reason and harm Rendy, after all now Rendy is her responsibility.

The Head Manager of a five-star hotel believes that her lover will not do anything wrong, but she believes more in her instincts which say that the man who now has the status of her fiancé, will definitely do something beyond reason because if his heart is already burning with jealousy, everything all kinds of things could happen and all kinds of things would be done to make the feeling of jealousy subside, or he could get rid of the root of where the feeling of jealousy came from, for example by making him become an inhabitant of another world.

Hair can be just as black, deep heart who knows!

And Olga doesn't want anything she doesn't want to happen, so prepare an umbrella before it rains and prevention is better than cure, right?

From a distance can see the back of Gita, who was sitting opposite Yunus on a long wooden bench in the aunt's stall.

Olga and aunt walked casually towards the stall, chatting interspersed with jokes and laughter.

"Are you done with the conversation, mamih?"

Yunus asked when Olga was a few steps away to stall, Olga just nodded her head. Gita turned to Olga when Yunus greeted her, Gita's eyes were very cynical and sharp.

Olga smiled faintly at Gita's behavior.

"I was just about to ask aunt to call you, eh it turns out the person is already on standby. Try moving it a bit, Git!"

"Eh, yes mih. I was going to order food with aunt I was hungry, I found out Papih was here."

Gita shifted her body to the right, Olga immediately sat down and asked aunt to make food for Gita, fried rice with butter and sweet tea.

"Oh yeah, where is Rendy? maybe he's hungry too, so let aunt make the food for him."

"He already sleep now, he said he's sleepy."

"Oh I see, you can continue the conversation I'll just be a listener."

Olga lit her cigarette and occasionally sipped her coffee, while Yunus explained Gita's duties as secretary.

Tomorrow Gita will start working because currently the office really needs a secretary, and told her to come on time and not be late, because the boss doesn't like it when his secretary is undisciplined.

"So, do you think you capable or not with all the rules in my office? If you think the rules are too strict and you can't, it's better if you don't force and you can cancel this work contract." Yunus asked for ensure.

"I can do it, please guide me ya pih." she answered enthusiastically.

'There's no way I cancel this work contract, I already worked hard to come here just for you and so I can see you every day, I even let my business in Jakarta be taken care of by my brother. For what, just for your sake. The man who has made me fall in love, I don't care even if you are my friend's fiancé. All I know is that I love you and I have to have you completely, even if I have to lose one friend. Don't just one friend, I'd be willing to lost a thousand friends as long as I can be with you forever.' she thought.

"Okay, you can signed the contract and remember don't be late tomorrow, okay?" Gita nodded.

Happiness radiated from her chubby face, her heart was beating fast. Yunus never left from her eyes sight.

Olga congratulated to her and put her arm around her shoulder. She asked Yunus not to be too fierce with Gita at work, and to entrust Gita to him.

"Don't make her cry, if she cries I'll divorce you!" she teased.

"Don't divorce me, Mih. If you divorce me I'll kill myself in a chili tree!"

Everyone in the stall laughed at Yunus' joke, except for Gita who just smiled and a smile forced.

She was really jealous seeing Yunus and Olga flirting with each other in front of her, even though the teasing was about her but she really didn't like it.

'Indeed I'm a child till you entrusted me, I don't need you care! Soon I'll be in his care forever, then I want to know how you feel! I can't wait to destroy your relationship, I don't want to see you near with my Yunus!'

Gita clenched her left fist as tightly as possible, she held back the fire of jealousy that was burning her soul.

Olga accidentally saw her clenched hands, she felt sorry for Gita.

'She must be holding back feelings which are mixed in her heart, but I'm sure the biggest one is her jealousy, she's a girl, I'm a girl too so at least I know how the feel. What's more she's falling in love with Yunus, that's really poor Git. Be patient and be strong ya, I'm sure you can get through all this.'

"Is it cooked yet aunt, food order for Gita? Poor Gita, she's been starving for a while." she said loudly.

"Just a moment mih, be patient okay!"

"It's okay if still long aunt, Gita earlier snacking in my room so I'm not really hungry actually. Besides, Gita wants to go on a diet I already fat!"

'I just reason that I wanted to order food, even though I just want see at my darling when he just arrived.'

"You don't need a diet, the important thing is to be healthy, you're not fat you're plump!" Yunus said bluntly.

Gita grinned she felt embarrassed with Yunus, Aunt immediately brought Gita's order food.

"You tease me ya Pih, but Gita wants to go on a diet so I'll be sexy like Mamih. Tell me what you secret is mih, so that Gita's body will be slim and sexy like Mamih." she asked with sad eyes.

"Don't worry, I'll tell you how to diet later as long as you're strong, okay. Better you eat first, the food will get cold."

"Mih, I'll go sleep for a while in your room ya, I'm already sleepy." Olga nodded her head.

Yunus got up and went straight to Olga's room, Gita looked at him until his back disappeared behind the door.

She immediately felt weak, not enthusiastic see Yunus sleeping in Olga's room, she expected Yunus to sleep in her room. She ate slowly because she wasn't lustful after seeing the man she loved enter his woman's room.

It had only been a day since she arrived, but it felt like a century. Her happiness instantly vanished when she heard that Yunus was going to sleep in Olga's room. Her mind wandered, thinking about all sorts of things about Yunus and Olga, when they were in the room together.

She closed her eyes and took deep breaths repeatedly, until her irregular heartbeat returned to normal.

'Will I be able to face the challenges here, or will I just give up?'

I had been a wife for exactly six hours when I woke up to the sound of my husband’s heavy breathing. In the dim moonlight of our bridal suite, I watched Hardin, the man I had adored for years, intertwined with my sister Carissa on the chaise lounge. The betrayal didn't come with an apology. Hardin stood up, unashamed, and sneered at me. "You're awake? Get out, you frumpy mute." Carissa huddled under a throw, her fake tears already welling up as she played the victim. They didn't just want me gone; they wanted me erased to protect their reputations. When I refused to move, my world collapsed. My father didn't offer a shoulder to cry on; he threatened to have me committed to a mental asylum to save his business merger. "You're a disgrace," he bellowed, while the guards stood ready to drag me away. They had spent my life treating me like a stuttering, submissive pawn, and now they were done with me. I felt a blinding pain in my skull, a fracture that should have broken me. But instead of tears, something dormant and lethal flickered to life. The terrified girl who walked down the aisle earlier that day simply ceased to exist. In her place, a clinical system—the Valkyrie Protocol—booted up. My racing heart plummeted to a steady sixty beats per minute. I didn't scream. I stood up, my spine straightening for the first time in twenty years, and looked at Hardin with the detachment of a surgeon looking at a tumor. "Correction," I said, my voice stripped of its stutter. "You're in my light." By dawn, I had drained my father's accounts, vanished into a storm, and found a bleeding Crown Prince in a hidden safehouse. They thought they had broken a mute girl. They didn't realize they had just activated their own destruction.

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband’s Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn’t find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn’t even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father’s legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn’s party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara’s health and managing every detail of Caden’s empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I’d drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause—if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I’d forgotten.

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.
