Full moon ... and pure breeze. Only the sound of the owl can be heard in the atmosphere, and the chirping of the leaves coming from the trees here in the forest that is steady in the wind. But suddenly the hours of silence were broken by the successive footsteps of the horses carrying the soldiers who seemed to be chasing someone. In front of them was a young witch who was gasping for breath on the run. That's me. My name is Charm, a full-blooded witch- which mortals call those like me born with power. But the correct name for such names is deities. I was suddenly alarmed when I heard the chirping of a soldier who used his bow so I prepared myself. Even before I was hit, I surrounded myself with a magic barrier. I admit that he is not a very strong kind of barrier because he is not that skilled in magic, but it is enough to fend off all the arrows they will shoot for me. But even so, they kept chasing me. it's irritating the shit out of me! The barrier I created is still consuming energy, so maybe at any time it will disappear forever. I wanted to fight them, but my grandmother - who had nurtured and cared for me since childhood - strictly forbade me to hurt those who had no power. Case ... I feel like the barrier I created is slowly disappearing. So even before that happens, I have to decide whether I will fight these soldiers, or not. "Don't stop until you catch it!" I heard shouts of what I think was their leader. I know there is a big layer on witches like me, so I understand how they want to catch me. A few more minutes passed ... I suddenly thought I had stopped running, and I faced them with courage. If I remember correctly, I was near the temple of Deity Morrel - one of the formerly worshiped Goddesses of Wisdom. Grandma told me when she ran away from the soldiers who were looking for me, she said I would go to that temple so that I could temporarily hide from mortals. It is believed that there is a guardian animal living in that temple so I will be safe there. "What, have you decided to just give up, witch?!" the leader exclaimed. I just smiled. "Surrender? That will never happen." I said calmly. I raised the blue silver wand I was holding and mentioned a level 1 fire spell I knew. "Flame shower!" Exactly when I mentioned such a spell, it seemed that blazing flames fell from above and surrounded the saken - which separated the saken and these soldiers. I can see that they are backing away from what I did, and the horses they are carrying are making noise which is the reason why they are busy staying with their horses for a while .. It's time for me to escape! I raised the wand I was holding and then I was enveloped in intense light. Deity Morrel's temple is also close from here so I'll just teleport there. Earlier I would have made a case when I was teleporting too far away, it would be easier for me to run out of energy that I could even die, so earlier I was saving a lot of it. I started to build my escape. The light that enveloped saken intensified even more and I could feel the force pulling saken upwards ... a signal that my teleportation was about to be completed. But ... Even before I finally disappeared in front of them, I felt a sharp object pierce my side. Then I only saw what it was when I faded in front of them and I reached my destination in the blink of an eye. As soon as I reached the temple grounds I immediately collapsed while holding on to my side hit by an arrow I knew was mixed with poison. With the rapid effect of the poison, my whole muscles trembled and my vision darkened. A few more seconds passed while I was still trying to fight the nausea I was feeling ... Darkness has covered my entire environment ....

The Witch Hunter Chapter 1 1

-WITCH HUNT-

Chapter One- "The First Mortal Who Smiled At Me."

5 years later ...

*Inhale ... exhale. *

I turned my attention to a lifeless little black rabbit-shaped doll sitting on the rectangular table in front of me. I am now trying to bring him to life using the magic I learned from the library of this temple. The reason why I do this is so that I can talk to someone here at my place of residence.

It has been five years since the witch hunt began here in the country of Derkarr and I found myself here in Morrel's temple. I remember I was about to die then but Morrel's guardian animal, Baal, saved me- a talking tiger.

Even though Baal can speak, we can't talk much except when there are serious topics that we need to talk about.

So here I am doing what I can to create dolls that can talk. Case in point ... a few years later, despite my diligent research, all my efforts to come up with the doll I was hoping for still came to nothing.

It's okay to get back to reality.

I pointed my left palm at the lifeless doll lying on the table, and suddenly my palm glowed and a faint light enveloped the doll. A few more seconds passed and the light disappeared from my palm and also from the doll.

I waited for a few seconds for it to move ... and after a few seconds, it started to get up and argue face to face. My eyes lit up, hoping he could speak.

"Pyupyu!" -the only thing he said. I was slapped in the face in no time in extreme frustration.

"Hays, my work is wrong again." I just told myself.

"Pyupyu?" the doll asked quietly.

"No ... I'll just call you Failur because you're wrong." I said irritably. Failur was jumping.

"PYU! PYU!" he seems to be annoyed ... Hmm, is it possible that the doll I made got emotional? It's just new ah.

"All right, you're not that sloppy." I said. But Failur is still arguing.

Alas, I guess I need more knowledge to perfect a talking doll.

Anyway, it's going to be dusk. I need to find a hog that Baal and I will cook for later. I immediately left the temple and made my way to Misty Forest.

I'm not too worried that someone will be stranded here because this forest is known for having wild animals that attack mortals who dare to come here. That's why I'm free to move around here.

I was still singing along the grassy part of the forest when I was suddenly stopped. Finally, I saw the target too! I immediately hid behind an acacia tree and watched the prey slowly approach.

When he was within my reach, I then raised a wand and wanted to cast a sleep spell on my prey ... but I think I underestimated it too much because it felt my presence and immediately turned around and ran away.

Aba! The food is running away!

I also ran away and tried to chase the boar.

"Come here! I won't hurt you! Well, I'll just cook you fast!"

I think he understood me when I was a wild boar because he ran even faster. Oh, it's delicious!

'I didn't realize that I had already entered the Misty Cave after chasing the boar. But I didn't hesitate to be amazed at the beauty of the net because I spotted our food gradually moving away.

Nooooo ... Baal is still hungry. He only gets more stuck.

"Aha! You're late!" I said don to the boar when I cornered him. I was ready to hit him with a spell when he suddenly disappeared in front of me and went through a hole that I didn't immediately notice because of the thick grass surrounding the corner.

I even tried to beat the boar to prevent it from entering but I was too late. The clever creature has already entered the hole, or their secret hideout.

"Ouch!"

Huh? Did I hear anyone speak?

A man's voice I heard speak! I can't be wrong. It's like the closeness is just because of that voice ... and then I just realized that I was sitting on a creature when my two eyes met ... his even -colored eyes were staring intently at my pink ones. eyes.

I thought it must have happened when I fell earlier when I tried to defeat the pig ramo earlier. That's why my fall hurts!

"Uhm, the awkward neto noh?"

Suddenly the young man with orange eyes spoke!

"Huh?" wrinkled-when I said.

"Ah eh ... You know, we'll just see each other and then our faces are so close. Hehe." he said a few words.

Only then did I understand what he wanted to say, so I hurriedly stood up and apologized.

"Hahahaha! That's okay! No problem." he said laughing. I didn't know what to say so I just kept quiet.

Wait ... isn't he a mortal ?! I don't feel any magic in him. What is he doing here !?

But he is the first mortal I have met since 5 years past ...

"Oh! By the way, I'm Lance. And, you are?" his enthusiastic self -introduction. I am still silent. I shouldn't be talking to mortals like him

"Charm." I sparingly answer. Hays, what am I doing. I need to leave.

"Nice to meet you Charm! Your name is nice." smiling she said. I was stunned there.

He is also the first mortal to smile like that in 5 years ...

"Oh hey, I think I'm a little bothered by you. I'm done taking a nap so I need to leave too. I'm also looking for something." he still said enthusiastically. This mortal does not seem to lose energy.

He was about to turn around to leave but I suddenly spoke up.

"It's dangerous to go here. So just be careful." I said. He confronted me repeatedly.

"Thanks for the concern Charm. But I can do it myself." he said

"Oh hey. I'm leaving. I hope we meet again." more net.

And the young man with golden hair and orange eyes left for good.

I don't know why, but I feel that ... he will be an important part of my life.

Even the naughty Hercules was sitting in front of me. I don't know if I'm mimicking or what but it looks like he's been watching me for a while and it's disgusting. I can't look at him even if he's in front of me because I don't want to see him. "Hercules, you want to come with us? We are going to the bar." Radius was with him while whistling. His Mama, quickly picked him up. "Radius can you please respect your food? Don't whistle whistle there and arrange a seat." it was like a child because of the speed with which it followed his mother. I want to smile because even though they are rebellious, they still know how to listen "Aliyah sister, what grade are you in at the entrance again?" I looked at Aunt Emily when she asked me. She was the one who adopted Cassey. "Third year College." "Third year College? How old are you?" "20 years old." her eyes widened as if she didn't expect my age "Then my Cassey is one years older than you?" I nodded at her. "I wish I could give you a scholar ship to my husband's family school here in the province, for Cassey to have with her." I want to be happy with what Aunt Emily said just in case I can't stay here. "I want to but I can't, I'm sorry Aunt." She smiled and stroked my hair. I feel like Aunt Emily is my second mother, it's just a feeling. The dinner ended happily and now I am in the bathroom of the guest room and taking a bath. This day is tiring. I hope something good happens to me tomorrow at this hacienda.

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband's Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn't find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn't even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father's legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn's party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara's health and managing every detail of Caden's empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I'd drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause-if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I'd forgotten.

I stood at my mother’s open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest’s voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone—he brought Charla with him. He claimed she’d had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.
