"I want you to be mine, I want you to assure me that your body is mine alone." Anthony's voice sounded hoarse, making me recoil like a helpless animal in front of a predator. When I first met him, he was just a regular customer at the nightclub where I worked. He had a reputation for being very generous and cordial with the staff, as well as being too handsome a man to need to pay for a woman's company. After my first month with him, he started coming to the club more and more often. Everything seemed to be going well, until the night Anthony requested my company as usual, when he was informed that I wouldn't be available at that time, Anthony simply stormed into the room, dragging one of my regulars out straight away. Before I could even shout at him, Anthony kissed me, as if he depended on it to live. Now he was holding my wrists against the wall as he spoke those words, asking me to be his alone, asking no one else to touch me, even though this was my job.

The CEO who saved me Chapter 1 Regular Customer

Time and life have not been generous with me at all, a typical story with a broken family, a nice-looking woman who needed a way to live.

I had been working in the nightclub since I was twenty years old, which meant that I no longer had any choice, but I did. I could have spent the rest of my life killing myself working in a tiny office in the city, but I wanted to live for real, I wanted to be able to afford the expensive things I'd always wanted, I wanted to have the pleasure of living life for real.

After a while you get tired, seeing all these men, most of them married and with a different life to the one they had here, spending all their wages, taking food out of their children's mouths just to spend time with you. After so long in this business you get tired, you start to feel disgusted, you despise these men.

I was now twenty-five, still working in the same nightclub as always, seeing the same men every day, but one of them caught my eye in a different way. His name was Anthony, he came here for the first time six months ago, after that he became a regular here, he always asked for me, he used to chat me up, but then he started paying for normal work, he was generous with his pay and always left extravagant tips. I remember well the day I saw him for the first time.

It was a busy night and he arrived accompanied by three friends, Anthony seemed a little out of place, he didn't seem to be in the habit of visiting nightclubs, after all, he was a handsome man with impeccable posture and an athletic build, his hair was black and had an impeccable social cut, he didn't seem like the kind of person who pays for sex casually, but he was still there.

My "coworkers" approached him quickly as expected, he didn't want to talk to any of them, one of his friends came to talk to me, he seemed extremely drunk, it was then that he noticed my presence. He approached his friend and said that he should get some rest or drink some water, his friend wasn't happy but went along with what Anthony said.

"I'm sorry about my friend. He can be inconvenient when he wants to be."

"It's okay, I'm used to problem customers."

"Well, my name is Anthony."

"You can call me Violett."

"That's not your real name, is it?"

"Nobody here uses their real name. It's the basics of our job."

"You seem to have been at it for a long time."

"A little over four years."

"And why do you do it?"

"You ask a lot of questions."

"I'm just curious. You're a young and beautiful woman, you seem too intelligent for this place. When a woman like you ends up in a place like this, it arouses a certain curiosity in people."

"That's the first time I've heard that."

"That you're beautiful or intelligent?"

"Don't be silly, I wouldn't work with this if I wasn't beautiful, I also consider myself an intelligent woman. I've never heard that it brings any curiosity."

"And why is that?"

"Talking isn't really what people do here."

"Look, I don't usually go to these places, I don't want you to see me like most of your clients, who I believe are totally pathetic. But if you want, I'd like to pay for an hour of your time just to talk. That way my friends can finish what they came to do without me getting involved."

"Sure, follow me."

That evening I took him to the private room, just as he said we just ate and talked, for an hour, he told me how interested he was in my hair, my eyes and my smile, this was very strange for me, I've never had a client who paid just for a chat and complimented me so much. When he left I thought he would never come back, but the same week he was back, looking for Violett.

This went on for another six months, he came every week at least twice. We started having sex in the third month of his visits, it started as something quiet, he paid for an hour, then he started paying for more time, doing more things, being more intense. I can't say I didn't enjoy it, he was a good sexual partner, but at the end of the day work was work.

In the sixth month he paid for normal work, one night he asked me to stay with him for three hours, I was happy to, the night was tiring and the other clients were drunk and unpleasant. While Anthony was getting dressed, he started talking.

"Violett?"

"Yes?"

"Aren't you thinking of leaving your job?"

"Why the sudden question?"

"I was just thinking that you're too good for this place, don't you have anything else you want to do?"

"I'm not thinking of quitting this job while I'm still pretty and young, I don't want to have to live my life at someone else's expense or be a trophy wife, I just want to live my life. Even though this job sometimes disgusts me, it still pays more than normal jobs."

"Do you disgust me?"

"Why would I?"

"I think because I pay you, you'd never tell me the truth."

"You've been coming here for six months now, even if I was very good at disguising it, if I felt disgusted with you I would have realized it one way or another."

"So you don't dislike me."

"No. I don't really understand why you come here. A handsome, polite and cordial man paying for sex is something that doesn't enter my head at all."

"I have my reasons."

He sat down on one of the chairs and asked me to come over to him, I sat on his lap while he ran his hand all over my body, it was something he always did after work, he liked to touch my hair, to feel the softness of my skin. At first I was embarrassed by it, but after a while, it somehow became something welcoming for me.

I stood in the darkest corner of the Pierre Hotel’s ballroom, my cheap polyester dress itching against my skin while my wristband buzzed with a DARPA Priority Red alert. In front of the city’s elite, my fiancé Bryce Calloway took the stage, not to toast our future, but to publicly end our engagement and announce he was with my sister, Chloe. The room turned on me instantly, a hundred pairs of eyes pinning me down with pity and disgust as they physically backed away like I was contagious. When I returned home, my mother shattered a crystal vase at my feet, screaming that I was a humiliation and a "dropout" who didn't deserve a cent of the family fortune. Chloe and Bryce mocked me, laughing when I told them I had a mission with the National Security Agency, convinced I was either a pathological liar or a low-level criminal. They watched in horror as a black, unmarked military helicopter descended on our backyard to extract me, yet they still chose to believe I was being arrested for drug trafficking. They saw a pathetic girl who couldn't even parallel park, never realizing I was Dr. Nova Vance, the lead physicist behind the world's first successful fusion reactor. To secure funding for my research and gain a "fortress" of a name, I signed a thirty-day marriage contract with the arrogant billionaire Roman Knight. He treats me like a fraud, convinced I’m a gold-digger who failed out of college, while I quietly run global energy simulations from his guest bedroom. He has no idea that the "loser" he’s forced to live with is the same anonymous grandmaster who has been ruthlessly crushing him in online strategy games for months. "The contract is active," I told him, looking past his expensive suit. "But don't expect me to be your maid."

I married Clive Harrington, the coldest billionaire in Manhattan, under a strict contract that forbade any emotional burdens. When I needed a high-risk surgery to save my sight, I checked into the clinic alone, hiding the procedure from a husband who saw me as nothing more than a legal asset. I thought I could handle the darkness in silence. But while I was blind and bandaged in my hospital bed, my biological mother called, screaming that if I didn't produce a Harrington heir by the end of the fiscal year, she would cut off the life-saving treatments for my disabled sister. I was crawling on the cold hospital floor, desperately feeling for a cane I had dropped, when I touched a pair of expensive leather shoes. It was Clive. He was supposed to be in London closing a multi-million dollar deal, but there he was, watching his "contract wife" groveling in the dark like a beggar. He didn't walk away in disgust. He carried me to a five-thousand-dollar-a-night VIP suite and sat by my bed, listening in chilling silence as another voicemail from my mother filled the room, calling me a "useless broodmare" who was only worth the trust fund disbursements my marriage secured. I expected him to remind me of Clause 34B or hand me divorce papers now that I was "damaged goods." Instead, I felt his thumb brush a stray tear from my cheek, his presence shifting from a statue of ice into a predatory shield. "I thought I was just currency to you," I whispered, my voice trembling behind the gauze. "Just an investment." Clive didn't answer with words. He picked up his phone and called his head of legal with a single, terrifying command: "Kill the Douglas family’s credit lines. Every debt, every lien—trigger them all. If they want a war, I’ll give them a massacre." As he leaned down to kiss my bandaged forehead, I realized the contract was dead. My husband wasn't protecting an asset anymore; he was hunting the people who had dared to touch what belonged to him.
