On her 18th birthday, Emily faced betrayal. Her boyfriend turned out to be her sister's mate. Not only did her father demand that she forgive her sister and her boyfriend's betrayal, but he also asked her to preside over their wedding. However, at the wedding, she met Prince Leon. He claimed that she was his mate. The prince had another engagement with another woman. Emily's best friend Lola told her that the best way to get the prince was to tie him to a bed. "My sweet Emily, you only belong to me." Leon whispered on the bed.

Mate to the Lycan king Chapter 1 Birthday

"How could you do this to me?" My voice trembled, and I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was less than an hour before my birthday party was supposed to start, and my sister Susan had slept with my boyfriend Jack, who had been in love with me for three years!

Jack slipped out of bed naked and looked at me with an unhappy face. Obviously, my sudden appearance had ruined his good thing. He pulled me into the room without saying a word and slammed the door.

My sister Susan covered her upper body with a sheet, her long hair scattering on her snow-white shoulders. She kept her head down the whole time, her eyes only focusing on the sheets clutched by her hands in front of her. I felt an angry flame burning in my eyes. Why hadn't she thought to get dressed immediately?

Susan was a child adopted by my parents. My father had brought her back to our home when I was seven years old. On that day, she was only wearing an ordinary little floral dress, and she didn't even have a decent suitcase. My father carried a black cloth bag in one hand, which contained only two sets of old clothes. That was all Susan had.

She was thin and timid. When Susan first set foot in the house, she stole a glance at all the furnishings with curious and envious eyes. My mother looked at her coldly, as if she was a stray puppy picked up from the roadside.

"Susan will stay with us from now on!" my father had said to me.

I hugged, bathed, and slept with her. I shared everything I had with her, and I even thought that she was my only friend in this world. She took care of me like my own sister. As far as I could remember, she had never argued with me about anything.

"I hate you, Susan!" I stood in front of her, tears flowing into my mouth. The feeling of extreme heartache almost suffocated me. I wished that the person sitting on the bed in front of me was not Susan but someone else. At least I could hate strangers and even beat them up. But I felt desperate and heartbroken about the betrayal of my loved ones!

"Emily, it's not Susan's fault!" Jack stood in front of me, and there was still a little thin sweat on his chest hair. He frowned at me, and there was no guilt in his eyes.

"Susan is my mate! We only found each other last month!" Jack sighed. "I'm sorry, I meant to tell you this earlier, but Susan was afraid that you would be sad, so she kept it hidden!"

"Then I should thank you, right?" I stared at Jack, the man I had once deeply loved, and I remembered his promise to me under the moon.

"You once told me that you would choose me as your future wife even if your destined mate was not me, didn't you?" I said tearfully. "So, were those words lies?"

"Emily, we were only sixteen. I'm still young!" Jack bowed his head, and his tone was somewhat helpless. "Everything is changing. I loved you, and I love Susan now! In fact, I have thought of a solution!"

"What is it?" I looked at Jack doubtfully, but he turned his face away. Obviously, even he thought I couldn't accept the decision he was going to tell me next.

"Emily, I know you are excellent. You are also the best candidate for Luna. But my pack can't accept a Luna without a wolf! I can make you my lover, and I hope you can help Susan become a good Luna. I believe you can do it. This is my decision!" Jack said before turning his head to me, waiting for my answer.

I just stared at Jack. I bit my back molar tightly and tried my best to control my emotions. I felt cold all over. I never thought that the man I had once loved would say such cruel words to me. A werewolf without a wolf was considered an alien among the wolf clan, even inferior to the lowly Omega Wolf. This was a shame for werewolves. Werewolves without wolves couldn't even have their werewolf names!

However, this man had once told me that he would not dislike me without a wolf. "Your wolf will come eventually!" How gently and considerate he had once comforted me. But now, as Jack just said, everything was changing. He had changed, but I was stupidly kept in the dark.

"Go to hell!" I said to Jack mercilessly. "You humiliated me, Jack! I hate you!"

"Emily, I hope you calm down!" Jack grabbed my arm in an attempt to keep me. "I still love you, and I hope you can live in peace with Susan. Without your help, it would be very difficult for Susan to become a Luna!"

"Shut up!" I finally broke out, and I didn't wake up until now. It turned out that in Jack's mind, I was just a tool that could be used. I had originally wanted to give him the most precious virgin night after the birthday party! Oh, I'm so stupid!

"Put on your clothes!" I grabbed the vase on the table and smashed it at the corner of the bed. Then I heard Susan scream miserably!

"What happened?" The door was opened, and my parents appeared outside at the same time.

"Oh!" My mother covered her mouth in disbelief, and the shock on her face quickly turned to anger as she stared at Susan on the bed with a knife-like gaze.

Meanwhile, Jack sat beside Susan, and she buried her head in his arms, crying quietly. I noticed my father and Jack exchange a look before my father spoke in his deep voice.

"Go to my study room, Emily," my father said, giving me a meaningful look. "We need to talk about the three of you."

I had just survived a private jet crash, my body a map of violet bruises and my lungs still burning from the smoke. I woke up in a sterile hospital room, gasping for my husband's name, only to realize I was completely alone. While I was bleeding in a ditch, my husband, Adam, was on the news smiling at a ribbon-cutting ceremony. When I tracked him down at the hospital's VIP wing, I didn't find a grieving husband. I found him tenderly cradling his ex-girlfriend, Casie, in his arms, his face lit with a protective warmth he had never shown me as he carried her into the maternity ward. The betrayal went deeper than I could have imagined. Adam admitted the affair started on our third anniversary-the night he claimed he was stuck in London for a merger. Back at the manor, his mother had already filled our planned nursery with pink boutique bags for Casie's "little princess." When I demanded a divorce, Adam didn't flinch. He sneered that I was "gutter trash" from a foster home and that I'd be begging on the streets within a week. To trap me, he froze my bank accounts, cancelled my flight, and even called the police to report me for "theft" of company property. I realized then that I wasn't his partner; I was a charity case he had plucked from obscurity to manage his life. To the Hortons, I was just a servant who happened to sleep in the master bedroom, a "resilient" woman meant to endure his abuse in silence while the whole world laughed at the joke that was my marriage. Adam thought stripping me of his money would make me crawl back to him. He was wrong. I walked into his executive suite during his biggest deal of the year and poured a mug of sludge over his original ten-million-dollar contracts. Then, right in front of his board and his mistress, I stripped off every designer thread he had ever paid for until I was standing in nothing but my own silk camisole. "You can keep the clothes, Adam. They're as hollow as you are." I grabbed my passport, turned my back on his billions, and walked out of that glass tower barefoot, bleeding, and finally free.

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband’s Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn’t find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn’t even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father’s legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn’s party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara’s health and managing every detail of Caden’s empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I’d drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause—if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I’d forgotten.

One Night With My Billionaire Boss

One Night With My Billionaire Boss

I woke up on silk sheets that smelled of expensive cedar and cold sandalwood, a world away from my cramped apartment in Brooklyn. Beside me lay Ezra Gardner—my boss, the billionaire CEO of Gardner Holdings, and the man who could end my career with a snap of his fingers. He didn’t offer an apology for the night before; instead, he looked at me with terrifying clarity and proposed a cold, calculated business arrangement. "Marriage. It stabilizes the board and solves the PR crisis before it begins." He dressed me in archival Chanel and sent me home in his Maybach, but my life was already falling apart. My boyfriend, Irving, claimed he had passed out early, yet his location data placed him at my best friend’s apartment until three in the morning. When I tried to run, I realized Ezra was already ten steps ahead, tracking my movements and uncovering the secret I’d spent twenty years hiding: my connection to the powerful Senator Grimes. I was trapped between a CEO who treated me like a line item on a quarterly report and a boyfriend who had been using me while sleeping with my closest friend. I felt like a pawn in a game I didn't understand, wondering why a man like Ezra would walk up forty flights of stairs on a broken leg just to make sure I was safe. "Showtime, Mrs. Gardner." Standing on the red carpet in a gown that cost more than my life, I watched my cheating ex-boyfriend’s face turn pale as Ezra claimed me in front of the world. I wasn't just an assistant anymore; I was a weapon, and it was time to burn their world down.
