Bitten by the alpha Chapter 1 How it began

"Stan's POV:

'Come on, don't be a party pooper. We both know Fridays are for partying, so why the sudden loss of interest?' my best friend Sam exclaimed.

'Fine, fine, I'll go so you'll stop nagging. I just have a bad feeling about something.'

'You are overthinking things,' Sam said. 'This is exactly why you need to go to this party, to let loose.'

'Okay then, you've convinced me.'

'That's more like it,' he smiled to himself, being proud of convincing me.

We made our way to Tim's house, and he welcomed us in. To say everywhere was packed was an understatement. Tim is known for throwing the best parties, so I wasn't really surprised.

Sam immediately disappeared into the crowd, leaving me to navigate through the crowd. I grabbed a drink from the counter, gulping it down. I needed to get in the groove, and that's exactly what I did.

I made my way to the crowd and started dancing like crazy. After dancing, I made my way outside, finding the pool. I dived into the pool, getting cheers from everyone around. 'I'm back,' I said to myself.

I dried myself up, making my way back into the house. I saw Sam and other people playing cup pong. I decided to join; I mean, I'm the best. After winning many rounds, I got tired and decided to use the restroom."

Stepping out of the bathroom,I saw something curiosity took over me and I followed but,it disappeared it's probably my imagination

The party finally ended and it was time to make our way back home

I went to get Sam and my eyes got hunted he was getting freaky with some girl,I'll just text him later

I made my way out of the house and I saw other students exiting too

I pulled out my phone dialing for a taxi, but it was a Friday and no one was available, thanks Sam you were suppose to be my ride

I decided to just walk it's a good form of exercise

The streets are weirdly quiet today I thought to myself,I took out my buds plugged my ears and started jamming to star boy by the weekend

I hummed along to the words of the song " I'm trying to put you in the worst mood "-when I felt the presence I felt in the restroom

I stopped in my tracks to look around but saw nothing so I continued walking,I was suddenly tackled and I managed to fight the person off I picked up my pace and tried running, but I got caught

My eyes were playing tricks on me that must be it,I saw a wolf over me I tired fighting it off but it was stronger and much faster than me,that can't be an ordinary wolf,I tried kicking it off but it was too late it sank his teeth deep into my neck,I screamed in pain as I watched the fury animal running off,I covered my neck with my hands trying to get help

I pulled out my phone calling Sam informing him I was attacked, that was the last thing I remembered before passing out

I woke up in shock it must have been a dream because I find myself in my room how did I get here the last thing I remembered was calling Sam telling him I was attacked ,I was lost in my thoughts when Sam made his way to the room

"Dude you scared me,why didn't you just wait for me I found you passed out a few blocks away I had to bring you back "you said you were in danger and I checked nothing was wrong with you,you sure you good? Or you had a little too much to drink ?

I was still trying to process everything,I remembered the bite so I placed my hands on my neck no scar,I quickly stood up dashed to the mirror and nothing was there I knew I got bitten it wasn't in my head I'm definitely not going crazy

Sam looked at me confused

"Stan, are you on drugs",what's up with you?

If I tell you, promise me wouldn't you think I'm crazy?

"Fine I promise,now spill "

I got attacked yesterday ,a wolf jumped me it bit my neck and just ran off

Sam looked at me as if I was crazy

" It's definitely drugs he said"

I'm serious

"Then show me the bite mark"

That's the weird part, it's gone.

"Umm Stan I think you should go back to bed,you probably had a nightmare and you just need to rest"

I forced myself to go back to sleep but I knew this wasn't just in my head I was bitten

I woke up after 30 minutes I couldn't sleep

I tried washing my face and The color of my eyes changed from brown to yellow,I washed my face again and it was back to normal,I tried turning off the tap and I broke the sink which sent a loud noise,Sam rushed in and saw the broken pieces everywhere

"What happened in here"

Sam here me out I'm not going crazy something is actually happening to me

"Well no joke"

I woke up in a blindingly white hotel penthouse with a throbbing headache and the taste of betrayal in my mouth. The last thing I remembered was my stepsister, Cathie, handing me a flute of champagne at the charity gala with a smile that didn't reach her eyes. Now, a tall, dangerously handsome man walked out of the bathroom with a towel around his hips. On the nightstand sat a stack of hundred-dollar bills. My stepmother had finally done it—she drugged me and staged a scandal with a hired escort to destroy my reputation and my future. "Aisha! Is it true you spent the night with a gigolo?" The shouts of a dozen reporters echoed through the heavy oak door as camera flashes exploded through the peephole. My phone lit up with messages showing my bank accounts were already frozen. My father was invoking the 'morality clause' in my mother’s trust fund, and my fiancé had already released a statement dumping me to marry my stepsister instead. I was trapped, penniless, and being hunted by the press for a scandal I hadn't even participated in. My own family had sold me out for a payday, and the man standing in front of me was the only witness who could prove I was innocent—or finish me off for good. I didn't have time to cry. According to the fine print of the trust, I had thirty days to prove my "rehabilitation" through a legal marriage or I would lose everything. I tracked the man down to a coffee shop the next morning, watching him take a thick envelope of cash from a wealthy older woman. I sat across from him and slid a napkin with a $50,000 figure written on it. "I need a husband. Legal, paper-signed, and convincing." He looked at the number, then at me, a slow, crooked smile spreading across his face. I thought I was hiring a desperate gigolo to save my inheritance. I had no idea I was actually proposing to Dominic Fields, the reclusive billionaire shark who was currently planning a hostile takeover of my father’s entire empire.

I watched my husband sign the papers that would end our marriage while he was busy texting the woman he actually loved. He didn't even glance at the header. He just scribbled the sharp, jagged signature that had signed death warrants for half of New York, tossed the file onto the passenger seat, and tapped his screen again. "Done," he said, his voice devoid of emotion. That was Dante Moretti. The Underboss. A man who could smell a lie from a mile away but couldn't see that his wife had just handed him an annulment decree disguised beneath a stack of mundane logistics reports. For three years, I scrubbed his blood out of his shirts. I saved his family's alliance when his ex, Sofia, ran off with a civilian. In return, he treated me like furniture. He left me in the rain to save Sofia from a broken nail. He left me alone on my birthday to drink champagne on a yacht with her. He even handed me a glass of whiskey—her favorite drink—forgetting that I despised the taste. I was merely a placeholder. A ghost in my own home. So, I stopped waiting. I burned our wedding portrait in the fireplace, left my platinum ring in the ashes, and boarded a one-way flight to San Francisco. I thought I was finally free. I thought I had escaped the cage. But I underestimated Dante. When he finally opened that file weeks later and realized he had signed away his wife without looking, the Reaper didn't accept defeat. He burned down the world to find me, obsessed with reclaiming the woman he had already thrown away.

I had been a wife for exactly six hours when I woke up to the sound of my husband’s heavy breathing. In the dim moonlight of our bridal suite, I watched Hardin, the man I had adored for years, intertwined with my sister Carissa on the chaise lounge. The betrayal didn't come with an apology. Hardin stood up, unashamed, and sneered at me. "You're awake? Get out, you frumpy mute." Carissa huddled under a throw, her fake tears already welling up as she played the victim. They didn't just want me gone; they wanted me erased to protect their reputations. When I refused to move, my world collapsed. My father didn't offer a shoulder to cry on; he threatened to have me committed to a mental asylum to save his business merger. "You're a disgrace," he bellowed, while the guards stood ready to drag me away. They had spent my life treating me like a stuttering, submissive pawn, and now they were done with me. I felt a blinding pain in my skull, a fracture that should have broken me. But instead of tears, something dormant and lethal flickered to life. The terrified girl who walked down the aisle earlier that day simply ceased to exist. In her place, a clinical system—the Valkyrie Protocol—booted up. My racing heart plummeted to a steady sixty beats per minute. I didn't scream. I stood up, my spine straightening for the first time in twenty years, and looked at Hardin with the detachment of a surgeon looking at a tumor. "Correction," I said, my voice stripped of its stutter. "You're in my light." By dawn, I had drained my father's accounts, vanished into a storm, and found a bleeding Crown Prince in a hidden safehouse. They thought they had broken a mute girl. They didn't realize they had just activated their own destruction.
