Chapter 1 Author's Notes...

Hello, for all of you who are reading a work of mine for the first time, you may have noticed that I have a peculiar taste for book names with flower names, well, it wasn't the first and it won't be the last, this is the second book in the series: Sweet Temptation! I have to say that it is not a sequel, as it contains an independent storyline... However, I advise you to read the first book, called: Cattleya, because it is quite a read!

Thank you very much for taking the time to read one of my books, I am grateful to you for making my wildest dreams become so real... I keep telling my husband - and thank you, my love, for supporting me so well with my parallel world - that I live in many worlds at the same time and sometimes it becomes unbearable. But I have to say; it was fucked up living with Jass and Ary, I love this woman with all my might, and although my female characters named after flowers are always fucked up, this one was pretty special. It was maddening, and amazing at the same time to live with each one who lived in this book throughout the creation process, it was nice to get to know a little more of Ms. Marilia. And just as you will react, keep in mind that it was the same with me. I thrilled, I cried, and I was surprised at every turn. Like you, I never know how my books will turn out? They present themselves to me and make me write them over nights, for hours and hours, until they are finished and I can live in peace. So; thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me the privilege of showing you a little bit of my crazy universes.

Note: Throughout the reading you will come across many phrases or words in German language, so that you can understand what is being spoken, I advise you to follow the reading with the Google translator app in the background...

I hope from the bottom of my heart that you love this book, as much as I loved writing it, and if you do, look for more of my work... I look forward to your feedback! Happy reading!

Sincerely, Nay Lisboa.

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.
