***********

Anaya POV:

Today is the day when i am finally graduating college. Despite having no friends college was the best time of my life. It give me some time away from home. I'm not well liked at home so college is a temporary escape for me.

i went down the stairs and collided with my bhabhi (sister-in-law). She was carrying a glass of milk. All of it was now on my shirt.

Instead of apologizing, She screamed, "Andhi ho kia" (Are you blind). I immediate apologized not wanting to create a scene. She huffed and went back to the kitchen to take another glass of milk.

I too went back to my room to change my shirt. Looking at the clock i realized i have got only 5 minutes before the bus leave. I hurriedly picked up the first shirt that came into view and ran towards the bus station.

Reaching the bus station, i saw bus has already left. I mentally curshed my bhabhi, if not for her I would have reached the station on time.

I began walking on foot because i have no money for taxi. Although my family owns a car but I'm not allowed to use it. My father doesn't even acknowledge my presence. His behavior with my brother and me are different. I never understood the reason for this biasness.

I was so lost in my thoughts that i didn't even realize i reached my college gate. As today is the last day of college our teachers gave us day off. There is a farewell party after school. Although i rarely talk to my classfellows they invited me out of courtesy.

I was still deciding whether i should go or not when a phone call came from house. It was my mother.

"Anaya when are you coming home"

"The time i usually come"

"Don't tell me you forgot"

"What did i forget"

"Today is your cousin valima (reception)"

"Alright i will come back Early"

After an hour, I decided to head back home. On the way i passed our neighbor and family friend Shahnawaz Ali. Out of basic human decency i gave him a smile which he flat out ignored. Rude. I don't know what's wrong with him. He is 39 and still single. He lives on his own.

Shrugging my shoulder, I went inside my house. I saw that everyone was already dressed. i immediately went inside my room and got dressed.

When i came outside, i saw that everyone has left. i called my mother to find out where is everyone and all she said that they accidentally forgot about me and i should come to the reception by a taxi and cut the call.

Frustrated, I started crying. Why do they always do this? How could they forgot about me? They treat me like a burden.

After cleaning my face i realized that i had no money. All of my pocket money went towards my college textbooks. I didn't ask for more because i knew my father will just deny me.

I was Infront of my house gate when i saw Shahnawaz coming out of his house. I immediately went towards him.

"Can you please take me to my cousin reception"

"No" He flat out refused and walked away.

i ran after him and grabbed his arm.

He Yanked my hand and said

"Don't ever touch me again"

He went and sat in his car. After sometime he honked. Thinking it was someone else I ignored. He honked again i turned to saw that it was Shahnawaz.

I went towards his car he rolled down the window and said

"Sit"

"But you said"

"Don't make me repeat myself and sit"

I was about to open the backdoor of the car when he said

"I'm not your driver come and sit at the front"

I hurriedly sat on the passenger seat Don't want to anger him more.

During the ride, he stayed silent as expected. It's not like i was expecting him to make a conversation. I noticed that he was quite good-looking If you ignore his sour attitude.

I was lost in thoughts when the car stopped.

"Get out" He said

"What"

"We have reached"

I immediately got out and was about thank him but he drove off.

I went inside the wedding hall . Spotting my mother i went towards her. She didn't even acknowledge me . I would be lying if i said it didn't hurt. But this is the way it always has been I'm used to being a ghost in my own family.

Nadia's life was a symphony of flour, sugar, and the contented sighs of satisfied customers. Her bakery, "Flour & Fancy," was a haven of warmth and comfort, away from the whispers of the city's underbelly. One rainy afternoon, a misplaced invitation shattered the tranquility. Addressed to "Nadia Petrova," it spoke of a lavish wedding for a couple she didn't recognize. Intrigued by the strange coincidence and fueled by a touch of reckless curiosity, Nadia tucked the invitation into her pocket. Over the following weeks, the misplaced invitation became a twisted calling card. Cryptic messages, delivered through seemingly ordinary means – tucked under her bakery door, finding it in her purse – drew Nadia deeper into Dante's world. Torn between her fear and a growing fascination with the man behind the power, Nadia began to search for the enigmatic Don only to come up with nothing not even his picture. Her creations, infused with love and a hint of rebellion, became a silent conversation between them. The night of the wedding, a world unseen by Nadia unfolded. The venue, a mansion shrouded in shadows, pulsed with a dangerous energy. Inside, opulent chaos reigned – glittering gowns, veiled threats exchanged under crystal chandeliers, and a tension that crackled in the air. Here, Nadia encountered Dante Russo, the enigmatic Don. His gaze, as sharp as obsidian, held a flicker of surprise when he saw her. Despite the danger radiating from him, Nadia couldn't deny a spark of attraction. She found herself to be the center of the invitation. She was the bride without even realizing it. Dante realizes that there was a mix-up. She was not the girl he hired to be his fake bride. To save face, he comes up with a plan. She had two choices either accept the deal or get killed by the Don. As Nadia learned more about Dante's world, the harsh realities of the mafia life clashed with her kind heart. Witnessing a brutal act of violence forced her to confront the darkness that lurked beneath the surface. Their connection, a forbidden dance on the edge of a knife, threatened to unravel everything. One night, she stumbled upon a truth. They used her as bait, luring Dante into a trap. The invitation was not a mix-up. It was deliberately sent by her husband's brother. The ensuing chaos forced Nadia to choose – retreat to the safety of her bakery or fight for the man who had awakened a fierce protectiveness within her. As she was picking up the broken pieces, she came to know the dark secret. Her parents were killed by Dante Russo 10 years ago. Thrown into yet another challenge, she navigated her way through. In the end, Dante dismantled the violent operations of the Russo family, leaving behind a legacy of justice. Nadia, no longer just a baker, became his partner, not just in love, but in building a new future.

I was the titan of Wall Street until an indictment and an ankle monitor turned my penthouse into a gilded cage. To save face, I was forced into a marriage with Elza, a "mute" girl from the Schmidt family whom I treated as nothing more than a silent piece of furniture while my empire crumbled. The night I was poisoned at a high-society gala, a mysterious server in an oversized uniform saved my life with terrifying, clinical precision. They disappeared into the night, leaving me with a silver cufflink and a burning obsession to find the shadow who held my life in their hands. Back home, I took my frustration out on Elza, telling her she was "exhausting to look at" and "smelled like sickness" after her charity visits. Her own family treated her like a stray dog, trying to humiliate her at the next gala by dressing her in what they claimed was a cheap knockoff while whispering to the press that she was nothing but a high-end escort. "Stay out of my way," I would growl at her, never noticing the steel in her eyes. I sat at my table, watching my rivals' stocks plummet and wondering who "The Zero"—the legendary financial ghost—really was. I never suspected that the woman I ignored was the same one solving the equations that were currently burning Manhattan to the ground. The injustice peaked when Elza stood before the city's elite, not as a victim, but as a queen. She dropped over a hundred million dollars to buy back her family’s legacy, revealing a secret fortune that made my own empire look like pocket change. As I grabbed her wrist and saw the small red mole hidden beneath her watch, the truth hit me like a physical blow. The silent wife I had despised was the savior I had been hunting, and she was finally done playing the victim. "We have a lot to talk about, wife," I whispered, realizing I had been sleeping next to the most dangerous woman in the world.

For three years, I was the perfect, invisible wife to Bart Brown. On our third anniversary, I stood in the kitchen for four hours, preparing his favorite meal with imported truffles, only to receive a cold text command. "Crysta fainted again. Get to the hospital. Now." My rare Rh-negative blood was the only thing the Brown family valued. Bart didn't want a wife; he wanted a walking blood bank for his "sick" best friend, Crysta. While I was fainting from chronic anemia, Crysta was smirking in her hospital bed, clutching Bart's hand and mocking my "peasant" lifestyle. Even his mother treated me like a servant, demanding I vacuum the floors after I'd already offered my veins for the hundredth time. When I finally reached my breaking point and signed the divorce papers, they didn't let me go quietly. They filed a false police report, accusing me of stealing a multi-million dollar diamond necklace just to watch me crawl. I didn't understand how a family could be so heartless. I had cooked their meals, cleaned their house, and literally bled for them, yet they were determined to ruin my life the moment I stopped being useful. Did they really think I was a nobody with nowhere to go? Standing outside the hospital with a bruised wrist and nothing to my name, I didn't cry. I simply took off my cheap wedding ring and dialed a secure line I hadn't touched since the day I married him. "It's me, Dad," I whispered as a fleet of black Maybachs rounded the corner. "The extraction is a go. I'm coming home."
