The noises from the carnival could not be blocked by Mr. Jazel's thick glass, but the fireplace and thick glass did keep the house warm. To check on his little angel, Mr. Jazel ascended the staircase. Her sixteenth birthday was only two weeks ago. Jazel has remained true to his word.

The time ran like an antelope trying to escape from a predator, "kaboom" a rocket type fireworks landed on the balcony of mr jazel House, sparkling bright shining white that brightened Lucy's room. Now that she was awake, her heart beat more rapidly.

She stepped closer to her room's window to see what was happening and used her hand to cinch her loose hair into place as she descended from her regal bed.

She observes various games and activities while grinning.

People in the funfair performed good deeds, and everything was in a frenzied state. Clowns were showcasing their talents, magicians performed their wonders, not forgetting animal circuits were being displayed. Unknown to Lucy, a person on stilts saw her from a distance and moved nearer the balcony.

She was still fixated on the spectacular fireworks that lit up thesky. Approximately seven meters from the balcony.

An object on the ground level struck the young man who was standing on stilts. He tried to maintain balance as he staggered on the stilts like a drunk. The stilt was crumbling.

"Help him, Lucy cried out, knowing what might follow.

Without realizing the danger was approaching, attendees of the carnival were laughing and having a good time.

Using all of his remaining strength, the stilt walker jumps forcibly onto Mr. Jazel House's balcony.

Saving himself while the wooden stilt collapses over a yellow Hugh canopy in the carnival causing pandemonium among the celebrants. He landed on the balcony and rolled himself like a Squirrel and smashed his back against the glass on Lucy's window.

"While tending to the wound on his back, he replied, "Huh.

Are you okay? questioned Lucy.

He responded, attempting to cover off his agony, "Am fine."

She said, "Let me help you," as she assisted the young boy in making a stand.

People remarked, "Wow, Hmm, Awnnnn," as they gazed in awe at Lucy.

A celebrant said, "How come I'm not familiar with this face," as others turned to look at the balcony, taking in the beauty and the action

Where are you, Lucy? "

Mr. Jazel made a call as he ascended the stairs.

He said, "Where is she?"

He searched her chamber and her magnificent bed but could not find his daughter.

He noticed that the balcony's tiny door was open.

He moved towards direction of the French door Lucy said, "Daddy!" as she ran to give her father a bear hug.

"Look what I found dad" she waves her hand, signaling the young lad to come into the room.

" And who are you?" Mr. Jazel asked as he raised his face in surprise.

"Ok I can explain" Lucy said, narrating to her dad the event that happened.

"What is your name?" Mr. Jazel asked.

" I am Luke, '' he answered as his voice stammered and tried to find some confidence.

"Do you know what the time is?" Mr. Jazel answered .

"Uhhh I think.." Luke could not answer the question as he was quickly interrupted.

" I want you to go home now," Mr. Jazel said.

" bye Lucy" he replied waving his hand and walking down the stairs. After seeing Luke leave his home, Mr. Jazel turned to his daughter and stated, "So you even told him your name."

He questioned, "Haven't I taught you not to reveal strangers your name?

But dad," she defended, adding. lifting her elongated face. He proceeded by telling his daughter a brief narrative, "People are callous and nasty."

Mr. Jazel urged his daughter as he led her back upstairs while holding her hand, "Now my angel get some rest."

"You know tomorrow is school, you need to relax," he says, wrapping his daughter's body in the comfortable blanket.

and extinguishes the light.

Not long, Lucy's father had gone from her room. She gets out of bed and makes her way back to the balcony, where she places a slender hand on the verandah.

She observes how carnival revelers were packing up their belongings as the celebration was coming to a close.

From the balcony, she looked around to see if she could spot Luke, but she couldn't find him.

Lucy remained in the balcony for an additional thirty minutes, watching as everyone departed in unison.

She sighed and turned to shut the balcony door when she noticed a piece of paper lodged in a tiny gap in her vanrander.

She extended a hand to it. And she opened it tenderly.

She thought to herself as he opened the paper, "What might be inside?"

She thought to herself, "Today is just so fantastic.

Luke wrote the letter she just finished reading.his addressed the letter to his mother and included the addresses of his residence in bold italics on the final line.

Lucy tucks the letter under her bed and plans to introduce her friends to Luke when she visits Luke and his family in the future. While she was still fantasizing, she had several thoughts,

Lucy was now fast asleep.

Luke was receiving care in the neighborhood bay in the interimm He pondered who she might be as the doctor attended to his wounds. After tending to Luke's wounds, the nurse advised him to "get some sleep." Luke laid his head on the medical facility. He was sound sleeping and heaving.

The long hand of the wall clock made a ticking sound as the wind blew from east to west. At this point, Ashcanrouup was as silent as Graveyard.

I woke up in a blindingly white hotel penthouse with a throbbing headache and the taste of betrayal in my mouth. The last thing I remembered was my stepsister, Cathie, handing me a flute of champagne at the charity gala with a smile that didn't reach her eyes. Now, a tall, dangerously handsome man walked out of the bathroom with a towel around his hips. On the nightstand sat a stack of hundred-dollar bills. My stepmother had finally done it—she drugged me and staged a scandal with a hired escort to destroy my reputation and my future. "Aisha! Is it true you spent the night with a gigolo?" The shouts of a dozen reporters echoed through the heavy oak door as camera flashes exploded through the peephole. My phone lit up with messages showing my bank accounts were already frozen. My father was invoking the 'morality clause' in my mother’s trust fund, and my fiancé had already released a statement dumping me to marry my stepsister instead. I was trapped, penniless, and being hunted by the press for a scandal I hadn't even participated in. My own family had sold me out for a payday, and the man standing in front of me was the only witness who could prove I was innocent—or finish me off for good. I didn't have time to cry. According to the fine print of the trust, I had thirty days to prove my "rehabilitation" through a legal marriage or I would lose everything. I tracked the man down to a coffee shop the next morning, watching him take a thick envelope of cash from a wealthy older woman. I sat across from him and slid a napkin with a $50,000 figure written on it. "I need a husband. Legal, paper-signed, and convincing." He looked at the number, then at me, a slow, crooked smile spreading across his face. I thought I was hiring a desperate gigolo to save my inheritance. I had no idea I was actually proposing to Dominic Fields, the reclusive billionaire shark who was currently planning a hostile takeover of my father’s entire empire.

I thought I was waking up in the arms of Arthur, the man I loved. But as the morning light hit the Hamptons estate, the man buttoning his cuffs by the window turned around with eyes like chips of ice. It was Augustus Riddle, Arthur’s cruel younger brother, and I had just spent the night whispering confessions of love into the wrong man's ear. The night I thought was a beautiful beginning turned into a devastating nightmare. Instead of comfort, Gus treated me like a stain on his expensive carpet, scribbling a check for "services rendered" before shoving me into a dark service corridor to hide my existence from his brother. "How much does it cost to buy your silence?" He sneered, before leaving me barefoot in a torrential downpour while he drove away in a luxury Cadillac. Four years later, I am a struggling actress in Los Angeles, working double shifts as a barista just to keep the lights on. My life was finally stable until my roommate dragged me to a high-end dinner to meet her new "influential" boyfriend. The man sitting at the table, looking more arrogant and lethal than ever, was Augustus. He spent the entire night humiliating me, calling me a pathetic amateur and a social climber in front of my only friends. When I fled into the rain and collapsed on the sidewalk, skinning my knee until I bled, he watched from his car. He saw me clutching a plastic baggie containing the taped-together pieces of that four-year-old check—the only proof of my shame. He looked at me like roadkill, rolled up his window, and drove off into the dark. I couldn't understand why he was doing this. Why did he hate me enough to crush me, yet remember that I couldn't handle the smell of cigarette smoke? Why did he leave me bleeding in the street, only to send expensive medical supplies and coffee to my door the very next morning? "I'm moving out." I told my roommates, realizing that Gus Riddle didn't just want to destroy me; he wanted to haunt me. I grabbed my suitcase and walked out with eighty dollars to my name, finally ready to disappear into the city before he could burn the rest of my life to the ground.

I was once the princess of the Upper East Side, but now I’m just "debt wrapped in pretty skin." To keep my father alive in a federal penitentiary, I signed a contract I didn't fully understand. I thought it was about restoring my family's name, but producer Barnett Orr treated it like a bill of sale for my soul. Inside his limousine, the air smelled like gasoline and fear. Barnett didn't want a star; he wanted a victim. He bruised my jaw and ripped my vintage silk gown to shreds, laughing because he knew I couldn't fight back without signing my father's death warrant. "Don't forget who owns you, Felicity," he whispered. When he dragged me into Dewitt Knight’s penthouse party, I was a walking disaster. I huddled in Barnett’s oversized jacket, my lip bleeding and my spirit shattered. The elite crowd didn't see a victim; they saw a fallen girl selling herself for a role. A former rival poured red wine over me, and the room erupted in cruel laughter while Barnett told everyone he was just "testing my commitment." I looked up at the balcony, locking eyes with Dewitt Knight. He was a god in a bespoke suit, looking down at me with cold, lethal disgust. He didn't see the bruises or the desperation. He only saw a transaction he found beneath him. "So the rumors are true," he said, his voice cutting through the music. "The Aguilars really will do anything for money now. Even this." I was trapped between a monster who wanted to break me and a man who thought I was trash. No one cared that my father's life depended on my silence. When Barnett cornered me in a guest room later that night, his belt jingling like a death knell, I realized no one was coming to save a girl like me. I fought back with a crystal vase, shattering it against his shoulder, but I was drowning in my own terror. Just as Barnett lunged for my throat, the door was kicked off its hinges. Dewitt stood there, finally seeing the blood on the carpet and the map of purple bruises on my bare back. He chased the monster away, but I didn't feel safe. I locked the guest room door, wedged a chair under the handle, and slept with a silver letter opener pressed against my skin. When I crept into the kitchen at midnight and found him waiting in the shadows, I aimed the blade at his heart. "In this house, no one hurts you," he promised, his voice a low velvet rumble. But in a world where I had already been sold once, I knew that even protection came with a price I couldn't afford to pay.
