Chapter 1 It's a fate

In a palace deep in the jungle in Oklahoma, lived a large clan of werewolves. The king of the palace is Joe Allan Anderson, who has a wife and two children, a boy and a girl.

The whole clan lived apart from humans. Joe loves his wife and children very much. Life is peaceful and warm.

Joe's eldest son, Jake Allan Anderson, is a smart, energetic, mischievous kid. Later, Jake will inherit the werewolf family. Although living separately from humans, Jake is always curious about how people's lives are? So one day, he went to the human realm alone.

Seeing his son playfully wanting to go out and explore, the father just shook his head and smiled, waving goodbye to his son, the mother smiled and instructed: "Son, be careful on the road."

Jake smiled happily goodbye to his parents and ran away quickly. Little did he know at the time, that was the last time he saw his parents and younger sister.

In the evening he returned to the palace, but from afar he saw a chaotic scene. His heart beat fast, hurriedly running towards the palace. Arriving there, in the bright moonlight he could see corpses lying around the palace. He quickly entered the palace, calling out loud to his parents and sister, but there was no answer. He looked everywhere but couldn't find anyone, he started to get scared, tears started to fall.

He heard a gunshot nearby, he looked around to the source of the gunfire.

He saw a lot of people standing around, his parents were tied to a post, and his sister was lying motionless in a pool of blood. So the shot just now was shot at your sister. He cried and ran to his parents, but he couldn't move, a hand was pulling him to hide in the rock. He turned to look behind him and discovered that it was the nanny who had been by his side since childhood.

In one hand she was holding a small child, in the other, she hugged him very tightly. He struggled to get out, but his strength was not as strong as hers.

He commanded in a loud voice, "Let me go."

She still held him tightly: "No. If you run back there you will die."

"I don't care. My parents will die."

"Listen to me. Those humans will kill you too."

He struggled harder, fiercely saying: "I will kill them."

"How can you kill them when you're young? Listen to me and shut up."

As he struggled, another shot rang out. They shot your mother dead. His eyes were wide open, his mouth wide, sobbing. The nanny quickly covered his mouth, he painfully glared at his mother slowly falling to the ground. Followed by another gunshot, his father was also shot dead. He desperately cried without a sound, his eyes filled with tears as he watched his loved ones die one after another.

After killing his whole family, they went back one after another. The nanny immediately pulled him into hiding. He was dragged so far away, that he didn't know where he was being dragged, he just knew in a brief moment he had lost his entire family.

I don't understand why those people killed his family. Didn't werewolves and humans have long lived apart without touching each other? Why did they massacre his family so tragically now? He was angry because he was a useless child. He resented that he was not an adult. He suffered because he could only watch his parents and sister being shot and killed by humans.

The nanny took him to a safe place. His legs softened and he fell to the ground crying. His family was murdered. There is no one left alive, now he is alone in this world. He cried while shouting: "Why don't you let me die with my parents and sister? What do I get if I live? I'm a coward."

The nanny also cried: "I've taken care of you since you were born. I can't see you go to your death without saving."

He said nonchalantly: "I don't want to live anymore."

The nanny slapped him: "You have to live. Your parents hope you will rebuild the palace. You have to live for revenge."

He looked at the nanny and asked: "Revenge?"

The nanny nodded: "That's right."

His eyes burned with hatred, he gritted his teeth and said: "Yes. I have to take revenge. I will kill the person who murdered my family."

Since that tragic day, he has lived alone with his nanny and her granddaughter. Now that he is the only heir, he has to rebuild the palace, the responsibility on his shoulders is huge. He seemed to have turned into a different person, he trained his body tirelessly. He wanted to quickly become stronger.

His personality completely changed, he became cold, brutal, and domineering. His will for revenge is very strong, he searches everywhere for the person who killed his family. You will kill him yourself.

Time passed quickly, and he gradually grew up, becoming a handsome, strong werewolf. He became colder as if he could no longer smile. He searched for the person who killed his family for a long time but there was no news. So every day he tries to search more and more, almost every day he infiltrates the human habitation to search.

Today, as always, he found little news about the enemy. But his joy did not last long when he heard that his enemy had died of old age. He sounded like lightning hit the sky, he hasn't taken revenge yet, how dare that man die?

All his long-term efforts were ruined. If he died, he would continue to seek his descendants to take revenge.

In the evening when he was on his way back to the palace, he discovered a very injured little girl lying weakly breathing, probably lost in the forest and attacked by wild animals. He just looked at it for a moment and was about to leave.

Unexpectedly, the little girl opened her eyes to look at him, her weak eyes pleading for help making him decide to save her.

I was sitting in the Presidential Suite of The Pierre, wearing a Vera Wang gown worth more than most people earn in a decade. It was supposed to be the wedding of the century, the final move to merge two of Manhattan's most powerful empires. Then my phone buzzed. It was an Instagram Story from my fiancé, Jameson. He was at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris with a caption that read: "Fuck the chains. Chasing freedom." He hadn't just gotten cold feet; he had abandoned me at the altar to run across the world. My father didn't come in to comfort me. He burst through the door roaring about a lost acquisition deal, telling me the Holland Group would strip our family for parts if the ceremony didn't happen by noon. My stepmother wailed about us becoming the laughingstock of the Upper East Side. The Holland PR director even suggested I fake a "panic attack" to make myself look weak and sympathetic to save their stock price. Then Jameson’s sleazy cousin, Pierce, walked in with a lopsided grin, offering to "step in" and marry me just to get his hands on my assets. I looked at them and realized I wasn't a daughter or a bride to anyone in that room. I was a failed asset, a bouncing check, a girl whose own father told her to go to Paris and "beg" the man who had just publicly humiliated her. The girl who wanted to be loved died in that mirror. I realized that if I was going to be sold to save a merger, I was going to sell myself to the one who actually controlled the money. I marched past my parents and walked straight into the VIP holding room. I looked the most powerful man in the room—Jameson’s cold, ruthless uncle, Fletcher Holland—dead in the eye and threw the iPad on the table. "Jameson is gone," I said, my voice as hard as stone. "Marry me instead."

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband’s Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn’t find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn’t even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father’s legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn’s party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara’s health and managing every detail of Caden’s empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I’d drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause—if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I’d forgotten.
