SOUL SWAP: A Love That Was Never Hers Chapter 1 WD

Chapter 1

"Please! Please don't do this now... I am not ready." She pleaded desperately, trying to stop the man from tearing off her clothes.

"You have never been ready, I can no longer hold back" the man groaned, his voice filled with determination.

"Please! At least not now" she tried to beg more maybe he would listen but it was in vain.

"No! Now, you'd better pull yourself together and lay sexily on the bed for me or you are really going to hate this moment"

"No! No! No!" She shook her head, trying to stop him but he would not listen and raising his hands up, he slapped her hard, making her fall to the bed that was behind them.

Her body collapsed into the soft material with a gasp followed by cries as she rubbed her palms together, begging him to leave her alone.

"You have been my girlfriend for six months! Six months and you do not want me to have sex with you?! You must be kidding" he grunted as he tied her hands tightly with his tie that had been thrown on the bed few minutes ago.

Pressing her roughly down to the bed, he jerked her ripped shirt off her body and began to press her body roughly.

Tears rolled down her cheeks as he pulled down her panties with quite a lot of effort.

In the process, her kicking leg hit his face and he gasped, then spat on her.

"Hit me one more time and you are not going to like me ever again!!" He pushed down his trousers and pulled himself in between her legs as she tried weakly to get her legs closed but she was too weak against the bigger man.

He pulled his way through and let his manhood drive into her virgin pussy, breaking her and tearing her apart.

"Aaaaaargh!!!"

She let out a loud scream.

*

"Aaaaaargh!!!" She screamed as she woke up from the dream.

She was sweating profusely and panting heavily when she woke up. She ran her hands over her body and was relieved that she was still totally clothed.

Her alarm went off at that minute and she turned it off with still heavy breaths. She got off her bed and opened the curtains for light to shine into the room before stepping in front of the only mirror in the room.

She checked her neck and found that the bruise was still there from the rape incident after all it had only been just a week since she had been raped by her now EX boyfriend, Lucas.

She hated him so much and wanted to kill him if she could. He had not only had sex with her forcefully, he had made her first time hell, he had made her start growing afraid of sex and still yet after all of this, he had broken up with her right after the sex with the most hurtful words ever.

The sex, the breakup or the hurtful words... She could not say which was more painful.

"The only reason I was after you was because I wanted to get in between your legs and now that I have done so, it's nothing magical or pleasing, you are just like every random pussy"

She blinked back the tears that were gathering in her eyes as she recalled the words of her ex boyfriend.

"I am the fool but I will never be a fool again" she mumbled and let her hair down to cover the bruise on her neck.

The one she hated the most was him, her ex boyfriend, Lucas and the concept she hated the most since that ugly event was love. After all, if it was not for love, they would never have come close enough for him to be able to take advantage of her.

She gulped hard, vowing once more to do away with love.

She stepped away from the mirror and head into her bathroom to get ready for the day's work at the restaurant.

She was Lucienne Gray, 26 an orphan with no single relative, she hardly felt love all her life and the one time she thought she felt it had ended last week, she worked at Creamy Restaurant, a restaurant that was not too far from her home, there was not much details about her, to her, she was just one insignificant person in the midst of billions of people in the world.

She finished taking her bath in no time and dressed up randomly after which she made use of some makeup to cover up the bruises that she had.

When she was sure that the bruises were properly covered, she picked her bag and her phone, checking her mail as she stepped out of her room, there was no messages for her, she sighed softly like she had been expecting a message.

Well, she had been, after all she had applied for the position of a secretary at the Winston Corporations.

"Maybe I am just as unlucky as I have always been and still can't get this job" she mumbled and stepped out of her home only to find out that it was cloudy.

It definitely was going to be a rainy day, she stepped back into her home and moved over to the umbrella in her home.

She reached to pick it but hesitated, that jerk, Lucas had bought the umbrella for her and she wanted to rip the umbrella apart at that moment but she knew she needed to use it for the day.

She'd better keep it and save the money for getting a new one.

With a sigh of resignation, she picked the umbrella and stepped out of her home, locking the door behind her.

She walked through the streets and got to Creamy Restaurant in no time but she was a bit too early and her boss was not there, the restaurant was still locked and she had to stay outside, holding the umbrella to shield herself from the rain that had just started.

A few minutes later, a man dressed in all black and wearing a face cap approached her and Lucienne could only wonder what the shady man was doing, walking up to her.

"Who are you?" She asked the man when he was close enough but he said nothing.

The streets were pretty dry, perhaps due to the fact that it was raining, Lucienne panicked slightly, it was obvious to her now that she was growing afraid of men rapidly.

Her hands trembled slightly and the umbrella dropped from her hands, rolling over to a spiky wood that stabbed into it but Lucienne cared less about the umbrella at that minute.

"Do you have coffee?" The man finally spoke up.

"Ugh?"

"I want coffee, do you have coffee?" The man reiterated and she let out a sigh of relief, knowing that the man was just a customer.

"We are not opened yet sir so the answer is no"

She still could not get a glimpse of the man's face as the man kept his gaze down and his face cap helped with it too.

The man looked over to umbrella and walked over to a black car, which made Lucienne conclude quickly that black was the man's favorite color.

She watched the man open his car and bring out an umbrella, he returned to her and stretched the umbrella to her.

"Ugh? Thank you so much but there is no need for it" she tried to refuse but the man simply dropped the umbrella on the floor beside her.

"Next time, hold onto your things properly, who knows what next you might damage" with those words, the man turned and left for his car.

Lucienne looked towards the damaged umbrella.

"Good riddance" She mumbled.

Lucienne bent down and picked the umbrella up, there were two letters on it.

WD.

"WD? Weird but nice" she pressed her lips into a thin line as she watched the black car zoom away.

I stood in the darkest corner of the Pierre Hotel’s ballroom, my cheap polyester dress itching against my skin while my wristband buzzed with a DARPA Priority Red alert. In front of the city’s elite, my fiancé Bryce Calloway took the stage, not to toast our future, but to publicly end our engagement and announce he was with my sister, Chloe. The room turned on me instantly, a hundred pairs of eyes pinning me down with pity and disgust as they physically backed away like I was contagious. When I returned home, my mother shattered a crystal vase at my feet, screaming that I was a humiliation and a "dropout" who didn't deserve a cent of the family fortune. Chloe and Bryce mocked me, laughing when I told them I had a mission with the National Security Agency, convinced I was either a pathological liar or a low-level criminal. They watched in horror as a black, unmarked military helicopter descended on our backyard to extract me, yet they still chose to believe I was being arrested for drug trafficking. They saw a pathetic girl who couldn't even parallel park, never realizing I was Dr. Nova Vance, the lead physicist behind the world's first successful fusion reactor. To secure funding for my research and gain a "fortress" of a name, I signed a thirty-day marriage contract with the arrogant billionaire Roman Knight. He treats me like a fraud, convinced I’m a gold-digger who failed out of college, while I quietly run global energy simulations from his guest bedroom. He has no idea that the "loser" he’s forced to live with is the same anonymous grandmaster who has been ruthlessly crushing him in online strategy games for months. "The contract is active," I told him, looking past his expensive suit. "But don't expect me to be your maid."

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.

I stood at my mother’s open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest’s voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone—he brought Charla with him. He claimed she’d had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.

The heavy thud of the release stamp was the only goodbye I got from the warden after five years in federal prison. I stepped out into the blinding sun, expecting the same flash of paparazzi bulbs that had seen me dragged away in handcuffs, but there was only a single black limousine idling on the shoulder of the road. Inside sat my mother and sister, clutching champagne and looking at my frayed coat with pure disgust. They didn't offer a welcome home; instead, they tossed a thick legal document onto the table and told me I was dead to the city. "Gavin and I are getting engaged," my sister Mia sneered, flicking a credit card at me like I was a stray dog. "He doesn't need a convict ex-fiancée hanging around." Even after I saved their lives from an armed kidnapping attempt by ramming the attackers off the road, they rewarded me by leaving me stranded in the dirt. When I finally ran into Gavin, the man who had framed me, he pinned me against a wall and threatened to send me back to a cell if I ever dared to show my face at their wedding. They had stolen my biotech research, ruined my name, and let me rot for half a decade while they lived off my brilliance. They thought they had broken me, leaving me with nothing but an expired chapstick and a few old photos in a plastic bag. What they didn't know was that I had spent those five years becoming "Dr. X," a shadow consultant with five hundred million dollars in crypto and a secret that would bring the city to its knees. I wasn't just a victim anymore; I was a weapon, and I was pregnant with the heir they thought they had erased. I walked into the Melton estate and made an offer to the most powerful man in New York. "I'll save your grandfather's life," I told Horatio Melton, staring him down. "But the price is your last name. I'm taking back what's mine, and I'm starting with the man who thinks he's marrying my sister."
