Chapter 1 Prologue

As the year passed, more relevant upsurge of happenings were noted, as one of the greatest but timid region of the Antracia Coasts lived in harmony.

In the part of the world, famously known as the "Antracia". In it lived a wide range , numerous and manners of Vampires.

They are divided, though by an incident, into four nations, the East Antracia,West Antracia, North Antracia, South Antracia. All made up of different ability. As all other social units, they have ethics and etiquettes governing them. It was obvious, that though the distance, they still abhored each other.

The hatred which existed in the midst of the four coast of Antracia, started far back as over 1700 years, when all the coast lived in unity. Things went well as there was peaceful co-existence dwelling in their atmosphere. The princes of the great country, Antracia, generated disputes amongst them and they were in contest of the Coaserier. The Coaserier is a mantle presented to the crowned king of the Antracians, which generates more power or abilities in addition to the minor ability already imposed from childhood. But as it was, the contest among the princes became uncontrollably and they misused the Coaserier which seized the peaceful co-existence among them, which resulted to individuals of the Antracia belonging to a Prince, among the four, this brought about the divisions which birthed the four coast.

As the vampires lived, wars occured thousand times which has lots of lives to eliminate, although Vampires lived longer than humans. The Coaserier, which was mishandled by the former princes resulted to four classes of elements, including the fire class, water class, Air class and the earth class. And the Coaserier interpreted that things will go better if only one is to master all class negligent of the coast.

In the west coast, known as the "Davens", lived a clutch of Vampires, which had of all class, the water class. They have this great spirit of oneness. Balmad, a teen guy, who also was from the Davens, has a little sister by name Ava. Both survived alone after the incident, which was between the Northern Coast and the Western Coast, their father had to give up his life for his children to live, but left a word for Balmad, and it was.. "You shall be called King".

Balmad had to strive so as to ensure the survival of him and his sister, though they both gained lots of favour from the neighborhood who at most times showed concern and helped them out in critical conditions. Balmad was born and pronounced to be king in the West coast of the water class, and so his life was valued by the enemies as well. Balmad is a Vampire like no other, who had sympathy and care, as he showed ernest concern in things pertaining to the kid sister, Ava.

Hunting section is being conducted by the able Vampires, because at most times, unexpected deadly incident occur. Balmad is a courageous hunter who attributed fear as a sickness of the weak.

Vampires enjoy feasting on pigs, since pigs are inactive and more or less stationary at night and posses few anti-Vampire defences.

" I will be going with the hunting team at evening, our jars are already empty" Balmad said as he laid on the sack matrass.

" You're sure you'll be fine with that? Ava said staring at Balmad." Hey, am a grown up now, besides am getting perfect in my usage of elements, am your hero remember?" He teased as they both laughed.

The elements generally, is so laborious, one only develops the element gradually. Everyone is born in it, but no one masters it from birth, rather, the individual is being taught on how to manipulate the particular class. Except the category of people called the lordrins, who master all class.

"What will you be taking for lunch since we are running short of drinks" Ava asked Balmad with hands Akimbo.

" Am fine, I would want to meet with Alberto, I need him to explain things for me". Balmad already got up as he grabs his blue jacket."see you soon then" Ava replied.

Alberto, is an old man, the oldest in the Ravens, he is just a man who utilizes wisdom to resolve matters, and also, knowledgeable of the historical events, which made people see him as an anthropologist. He stays in the library, where thousands of scrolls are arranged based on their scheme, he stays with his pet, Manuk, a huge bat.

Balmad already arrived, as all other vampires do, he pulled off his shoes, kissed them, and made the Davmik chant, which was used to pass information when someone is at the door.

Alberto with his eye lens, crossed his foot on a dark brown dusty table, while taking a glance on a scroll.

" Balmad..." Alberto said as he brought down his legs and left for the door.

"Kit-muzua" Balmad greeted bowing.

"Rise, with the unexpected visit, hope everything is fine?" Alberto asked leading the way to the sitting room.

They both sat on the sofa, vampires, is a creature more attracted to dull colours, including black, green, brown and red.

"Everything is fine, aside the fact that I have not come to master my class yet" Balmad said with eyes fixed to Alberto's eye.

Alberto pulled of his lens, dropped it on a mini-table.

The class isn't just a gift, it's a gift though was gifted accidentally, most people didn't experience their class of element, even till death, some were delayed, some wasn't gifted because fortune may have been told about them misusing the class.

Alberto already stood, walking to the left side of the sitting room, their drinks which is the blood drained from animals and sometimes humans who fall prey to them, and the drink is stored in a glass jar. They drink directly from the jar, unlike humans, who turn them into cups.

"Help yourself with this first", Alberto presented the jar to Balmad.

"Oh thanks, i just needed it" he smiled as he sipped and wiped his lips using his left elbow.

"Am sure, your class will be revealed soon", Alberto assured Balmad, he made himself comfortable on the sofa as he narrated to Balmad how own his class was released to him.

I had just survived a private jet crash, my body a map of violet bruises and my lungs still burning from the smoke. I woke up in a sterile hospital room, gasping for my husband's name, only to realize I was completely alone. While I was bleeding in a ditch, my husband, Adam, was on the news smiling at a ribbon-cutting ceremony. When I tracked him down at the hospital's VIP wing, I didn't find a grieving husband. I found him tenderly cradling his ex-girlfriend, Casie, in his arms, his face lit with a protective warmth he had never shown me as he carried her into the maternity ward. The betrayal went deeper than I could have imagined. Adam admitted the affair started on our third anniversary-the night he claimed he was stuck in London for a merger. Back at the manor, his mother had already filled our planned nursery with pink boutique bags for Casie's "little princess." When I demanded a divorce, Adam didn't flinch. He sneered that I was "gutter trash" from a foster home and that I'd be begging on the streets within a week. To trap me, he froze my bank accounts, cancelled my flight, and even called the police to report me for "theft" of company property. I realized then that I wasn't his partner; I was a charity case he had plucked from obscurity to manage his life. To the Hortons, I was just a servant who happened to sleep in the master bedroom, a "resilient" woman meant to endure his abuse in silence while the whole world laughed at the joke that was my marriage. Adam thought stripping me of his money would make me crawl back to him. He was wrong. I walked into his executive suite during his biggest deal of the year and poured a mug of sludge over his original ten-million-dollar contracts. Then, right in front of his board and his mistress, I stripped off every designer thread he had ever paid for until I was standing in nothing but my own silk camisole. "You can keep the clothes, Adam. They're as hollow as you are." I grabbed my passport, turned my back on his billions, and walked out of that glass tower barefoot, bleeding, and finally free.

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.
