His Immense desire for her Chapter 1 This murderer

With a scowl, Jade tucked her blonde hair behind her ears. Sometime later, she caught sight of a scene from the corner of her left eye. She was actually hiding by a big rock, away from someone who's after her; her step brother Kelvin.

The scene before her took her by surprise, she wanted to see it more clearly. A guy with a hood over his head and two people groveling before him.

"Please spare us" One of the men on his knees shrieked in fear. He was to be killed. Jade stifled a laughter. Were they acting a movie?

The guy with the hood pulled the trigger, a shot aimed straight at the man's head. The other man stood up out of fear, running towards the corner where Jade crouched in hiding.

She felt her heart thumping. The guy had killed someone and the blood, It made her sick. She stood up to run from this ugly scene but a hand grabbed her. It was the man on the run.

"Save me" he said before something moved in swift behind him. Then the man coughed blood and fell on his back, his eyes wide open as death swept him away.

Panic engulfed her immediately. She could almost hear the thumps of her heartbeat. A real murder was committed before her. Suddenly, a sweet perfume scent filled the air, penetrating her nose. It was coming from behind her. Someone was behind her!

"Turn around" His commanding voice could have almost snuffed life out of her considering the state she was in.

She turned around meeting his gaze. His hood was now pulled down revealing his handsome face. His manly features were seductive especially his red hair which caught her eyes so quick and those sea blue eyes of his that could make you fall heels in love with him. His eyes sparkled.

He placed his right hand on the side of her face pulling her to shudder. Her body trembled the more as he kept on looking at her. He had no smile nor frown, just an expressionless face. He bent towards her still examining her like she was some sort of toy or special object which he was drawn to.

The thought of how he murdered these men made her shook with fear. She wanted to just run. Maybe to the cops. Would she ever make it out of here alive? Her father? she would not want him to be sick once she dies.

"What are you?" He asked placing back his hands into his pocket. She exhaled a little. All her mind was filled with thought of escaping.

"I asked you a question " he said, his hand reaching to pull her to himself. She shivered, about to move away but made it much worse. He grabbed her by her slender waist. They were so close to each other. Even his breath

"First, I am not an object you address with a 'what' and secondly, Can you let go of me?" She glared at him. "I am not supposed to be here"

He laughed " What do you think?" He cupped her face and traced circles on her neck with the tip of his finger. She pushed him off her already running with all strength.

This made him laugh. The more he laughed, the nearer the sound of the laughter got. She chose a path across a T- street. It mostly had enough places to hide.

While she ran, she knocked her foot on something and ended up hitting her head on a pillar. Realization suddenly hit her. This was no longer the street. She was now in front of a mansion. She gasped, turning around.

There, by a black car in the compound that stood the mansion was the murderer.

"Tell me this is a dream" She yelled in tears. She could have just stayed back home but on a second thought, she wouldn't bear her step brother who is lusting madly after her.

She slumped to the stairs where the pillar that had hit her head was. Her face was buried in her palms as she poured out the tears she held in a while ago. She never wanted to cry this much.

"Are you scared of me?" He advanced towards her. She quickly wiped her tears trying to face him since he was now standing beside her.

"You killed them. Now you want to kill me next? Spare me please"

"Shut up!" the tone of his voice made her flinch in horror. He was angry.

"Don't ever say that! Spare you? How much of a person do you think I am?Well I guess I showed you a little. I'm cruel, I love to watch people die and the fear I instill in people" he yelled

She was disgusted. He loved the fear he instilled in people? She clenched her teeth in fear trying to go down the stairs and avoid missing a step. To her dismay, she lost her step and fell from the stairs.

Her head spinned. She was feeling dizy. Her eyes could still see him rooted to a spot. She winced in pain as she tumbled from the stairs to the floor.

He was no gentleman at all, she murmured before falling unconscious.

"Jade! Jade!!" A voice echoed in her head. It was hard to recognize it yet but it made her uneasy.

Flashes of her mom's face came through making her to wriggle in pain. She fought hard to wake up from this nightmare. The look on her mother's face when she was stabbed with a broken bottle. The blood and her helpless state too. Reason why she hated the sight of blood. She was too innocent to have been deprived of a mother.

A tear trickled down her cheek. She felt it. She hates these murderers. Why this nightmare now? She struggled to wake up but even her yells and screams in this dark portal of the world could not help her.

I woke up in a blindingly white hotel penthouse with a throbbing headache and the taste of betrayal in my mouth. The last thing I remembered was my stepsister, Cathie, handing me a flute of champagne at the charity gala with a smile that didn't reach her eyes. Now, a tall, dangerously handsome man walked out of the bathroom with a towel around his hips. On the nightstand sat a stack of hundred-dollar bills. My stepmother had finally done it—she drugged me and staged a scandal with a hired escort to destroy my reputation and my future. "Aisha! Is it true you spent the night with a gigolo?" The shouts of a dozen reporters echoed through the heavy oak door as camera flashes exploded through the peephole. My phone lit up with messages showing my bank accounts were already frozen. My father was invoking the 'morality clause' in my mother’s trust fund, and my fiancé had already released a statement dumping me to marry my stepsister instead. I was trapped, penniless, and being hunted by the press for a scandal I hadn't even participated in. My own family had sold me out for a payday, and the man standing in front of me was the only witness who could prove I was innocent—or finish me off for good. I didn't have time to cry. According to the fine print of the trust, I had thirty days to prove my "rehabilitation" through a legal marriage or I would lose everything. I tracked the man down to a coffee shop the next morning, watching him take a thick envelope of cash from a wealthy older woman. I sat across from him and slid a napkin with a $50,000 figure written on it. "I need a husband. Legal, paper-signed, and convincing." He looked at the number, then at me, a slow, crooked smile spreading across his face. I thought I was hiring a desperate gigolo to save my inheritance. I had no idea I was actually proposing to Dominic Fields, the reclusive billionaire shark who was currently planning a hostile takeover of my father’s entire empire.

I arrived at my uncle’s mansion looking like human trash, clutching a one-way bus ticket and a duffel bag stuffed with old newspaper. My aunt looked at me with pure disgust, as if she could smell the poverty on my skin, but they needed me for one thing: to be a sacrificial lamb. They told me I was getting married to Julian Sterling, a man the elite circles called a violent monster locked in a cage. My uncle forced me to sign away my soul to save their failing fortune, while my cousin Kayla laughed and threw a torn dress at my feet, calling me a "rat from the Rust Belt." At the Sterling estate, the nightmare only deepened. Julian’s stepmother treated me like a horse she was forced to buy, ordering the staff to "burn off" my hair before locking me in the West Wing. I was thrown into a padded cell with a man who lunged at me, his heavy chains rattling against the floor as he roared with an animalistic rage that had already killed two nurses. They thought I was a pathetic, uneducated girl who "didn't read so good." They didn't know I had extorted two million dollars from my uncle before walking out the door, or that I was secretly recording every slap and insult they threw at me for future leverage. I huddled in the corner of that dark cell, letting them watch me tremble on the security feeds. I let Julian’s sister strike me with a riding crop and splash water in my face, playing the role of the clumsy, sobbing idiot to perfection. But the moment the cameras looped, the scared girl vanished. I pinned the "monster" to the floor, cut the neural tracking chip out of his neck with a hidden scalpel, and whispered into his ear as his blue eyes finally cleared. They thought they were sending a lamb to the slaughter. They had no idea they were sending a wolf to hunt a beast.

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch—a titan of industry and my best friend’s father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

I arrived at the hotel with Julian's favorite takeout, ready to surprise my fiancé before our big merger. But the moment I swiped the keycard, the silence of the hallway felt heavy and wrong. Inside, a red-soled stiletto lay on the marble floor-the same one I'd watched my best friend Lila try on at Saks last week. Through the cracked bedroom door, I watched Julian's back arch as Lila looked me straight in the eye and smiled, wrapping her legs tighter around him to mock my heartbreak. I fled to the penthouse to hide, only to find Grafton, Julian's "crippled" brother, waiting in the dark. To my horror, the man who was supposed to be paralyzed stood up from his wheelchair, gripped my chin with cold fingers, and forced me to sign a contract that gave him control of my family's shares. He knew about my mother's secret medical bills and used them to buy my silence, effectively turning my life into a calculated game of corporate chess. The betrayal tasted like acid, and the injustice of it all burned in my throat. My fiancé was a liar, my best friend was a thief, and the man now controlling my fate was a predator who had been faking his disability for years. I couldn't understand how everyone I trusted had turned out to be a monster. I was trapped between a man who cheated on me and a man who wanted to own me, with no way out and no one to turn to. But when Julian came looking for me, Grafton didn't hide; he stood tall, looming over me with a possessive glint in his eyes. "Help me destroy Julian," I rasped, realizing that to survive the Faulkner men, I had to become the most dangerous player of them all.
