Mandy just lost her mother 3 months ago,and she still cannot believe his father is in such a hurry to get married again after her mother's death.

"Mandy I made dinner arrangements for us next Friday, I want to introduce you to Cecilia and her son Cody." Says David ,Mandy's father while fixing his tie getting ready to go to the office.

"But Daddy isn't it too early to be jumping into another relationship so soon?,its only been three months after mom's burial.

"Honey ,life has to go on at some point. I'm sure your mother wants that for us, I'm only asking you to meet them and just get to know each other, we are going to be family soon" he takes one last sip from his cup of coffee and kisses me on the forehead as he goes for the door.

I'm getting ready to meet my friend Lilly for breakfast at the nearby cafe. As I'm about to leave my phone beeps with a text from Brandon, one of my college friends.

"Hey ,May you need to go to Billy's place right now"

I'm a little confused by the text and I start to ask myself if something happened to my boyfriend as I rush to take my car keys and my bag to go to leave going straight to Billy's place. I get there and knock on the door but no one answers,the door is slightly open so I push the door slowly and step inside. I start hearing funny sounds from his room, I go up the stairs to his room and as I get closer my heart starts beating faster, my palms start to sweat.

His bedroom door is slightly open, as I get close I see him on top of my friend Lilly. My heart just drops and tears start falling my face. I open the door and I stand there in shock not able to say anything. They soon notice my presence

"OH! shit babe I can explain , it's not what it looks like" as he jumps off from the bed and reaches for my hand

"May I'm so sorry, i didnt want you to find our like this" as she covers her naked self with the bed sheets.

"How can you do this to me?" I can't hold back the tears I turn to run out and Billy follows me

"Mandy wait please" he grabs my wrist as I reach the staircase, I fight him trying to free my hand from his grip ,I lose my balance and fall from the stairs ,everything goes dark. The last thing I remember is that jerk shouting my name with horror in his eyes

I woke up with a terrible headache, my eyes are heavy and I can feel there's someone standing next to me .I hear beeps from a machine as I try so hard to open my eyes but a certain pictures comes to mind, my boyfriend on top of my best friend and tears start falling. My heart cannot take the pain I'm feeling.

"Hey honey, it's okay don't cry daddy is here and everything is going to be okay." As he holds my hand

"Daddy....." I try opening my mouth but tbe words are stuck on my throat remembering what happened. Being betrayed by two people whom I thought cared about me.

"Shhhh....it's okay honey, you are going to be okay. Thank God you were not hurt that bad." He tries to hide his teary eyes and doesn't meet my eyes

"Oh good, you are awake. I'm doctor Steven and I don't want you to worry about anything, you have a little swelling and your head is probably going to hurt for a couple of days, but will take care of that." He holds my shoulder giving me reassurance

"Thank you Doc,when can she go home?"

"We will keep her one more day here just to control the swelling, then she is good to go but she needs a lot of rest" as he writes something on my hospital file.

"She's going home today Doc ,we have a family doctor that will take care of her at home if you just make arrangements .

The doctor doesn't even look at him "Yes sir that can be arranged right away" he leaves without saying another word.

Soon I'm in the car going home ,doctor Smith is already there waiting for my arrival. I settle in my bed as the doctor checks me.

"Hey May ,how are you feeling?" Smiling

"Well I have a terrible headache and swollen face ,so life kinda sucks for me right now" returning a small smile of my own

My dad walks in with a tired smile " hey honey, your friends are here can I let them in?

"Yes daddy ,they can come in" I try to sit up straight as doctor Smith helps me with pillows on my back.

"Hey May ,I'm so sorry please forgive me. I'll do anything" Lilly comes kneeling next to my bed followed by Billy

"Babe I'm ashamed of myself, it was a big mistake and it will never happen again I promise.

I'm filled with nothing but rage, I try to calm myself down before saying anything to them " Get out of my house I don't ever want to see any of you near me ever again, the two of you deserve each other.

My father is by the door" what is going on here? "He looks at them and orders for them to leave if they know what's good for them.

They leave in a hurry pushing each other by the door.

He turns to me with a confusion in his eyes" honey what happened? You know you can talk to me "

I gather my strength and explain everything to him.He was so furious that he promised to make them pay.

A WEEK LATER

"Daddy I'm ready "as I make my way down the stairs.

" hey honey will leave just now ,let me get the keys and my jacket."he goes upstairs to get his things then we drive to a Chinese restaurant. We get there and there is a very beautiful woman with a red dress and blond hair sitting with a young and very handsome man at a table near the window with a beautiful view. My dad leads me to that very same table .

"Hey guys, Cecilia and Cody please meet my daughter Mandy, honey this is Cecilia and Cody" with a warn smile that meets his eyes.

Cecilia stands up to give me a hug "it's so nice to finally meet you,

your name never leaves your fathers lips and I promise I only heard good things about you" with so much excitement in her eyes

"It's so lovely to also meet you,I heard a lot of good things about you" returning one of my sweetest smiles

Cody stand up to shake my hand with a very charming smile "Nice to meet you Mandy"

Soon as our hands touch I feel shivers down my spine and I meet his eyes with my cheeks pink "Uhm....nice to meet you too Cody" as I quickly break the eye contact .

We set down and dinner goes smoothly as we kept stealing glances at each other with Cody. We finally walk them to their car and before we leave to our car Cody calls me out.

"Hey Mandy ,we should meet for drinks sometimes and just get to know each other it's only a matter of months before we become family, say tomorrow afternoon around 2pm" with a charming smiles that is just hard to say no to.

"Sunday sounds perfect, I'll see you then " with my signature smile.

The weekend goes smoothly ,I spend the whole of Saturday thinking about Cody. The way he smiles, how warm his hand felt on mine. I wonder what he will be wearing tomorrow as I bite my lips just thinking about him.

Sunday morning I get a text message from an unknown number "Good morning ,I hope you slept well. I'll pick you up at 2pm sharp. Looking forward to our meet up"

I smile knowing very well who that is, I get all giggly and excited like a 5 year old with a new toy.

I get ready in the afternoon and for some reason I'm freaking nervous.

"Hey daddy, you have been busy all morning. Take a break please" I give him a kiss on the cheek.

"Someone is in a good mood and also looking good, what's the occasion" with one eyebrow raised

"Dad you forgot I'm meeting Cody for drinks today, just thought I'd put a little effort to this family thing" giving him a half smile

" thank you honey, I appreciate it . You guys will get along well, Cody runs a multibillion dollar company that his father left him. He is the most dominant, assertive and desirable . He chooses to live life in his own terms .

I laugh a little "Okay dad ,you would make a good sales man ,Cody is sold " raising my hands in surrender.

We are interrupted by a beep from my phone, it's a text from Cody "hey, sorry I'm held up at the office , I'll meet you the bar near the Chinese restaurant in few minutes"

"Is everything okay honey" looking at me

"Everything is okay dad ,just Cody saying his held up at the office that's all" as i take my keys to leave for the bar.

I get to the bar ,find myself a chair by the bar and order a drink while I wait.

It's around 3pm and no sign of Cody, I decide to go home. I feel so said ,almost hurt that he stood me up without even an excuse. I get home I'm so lost in my thoughts and sadness that I just open the door and I freeze to the event that is taking place in front of me .
