His Angel of Death Chapter 1 Surprise meeting

The crowd was buzzing with excitement, everyone was on the dance floor and the music was blasting across the club.

Chiara scanned the crowd from the VIP area of the club. She never could understand what made people drink and lose their thinking capacity. She had always thought it stupid and reckless. She believed that drugs and alcohol just inhibits the brain.

Even though she criticized them in her mind, she was grateful for them. Her family business survived because of fools like that, people who loved to dull their senses with drugs and alcohol.

Her anger was burning as she saw Diego walk in with two blondes. She checked her wristwatch and scoffed. 'The idiot was supposed to be here twenty minutes ago' she thought.

Diego went to the bar to order drinks and she saw him trade envelopes with the bartender. She started walking towards him and was about to reach him when a man stopped her.

"Hey there, sexy." The man said. She could barely hear him over the loud music. She wondered why people found it fun to listen to ear blasting music.

Chiara looked at him and withdrew her hand. He had dirty blonde hair and blue eyes, he was about six feet tall and built like an athlete. He looked like a college kid having a fun night.

"Fuck off!" She said and turned to walk away but the guy grabbed her arm and drew her close.

"Oh come on. Let's dance, it will be fun." The guy spoke into her ear, pressing his chest against her back.

"One more word from you and you will loose your..." She stopped her threat midsentence as the guy was pulled away from her in a sudden move. She turned around to see a strange man hit the guy that was harassing her. Some people turned to look at them, then continued dancing.

She stood in place as the man approached her. She was magnetized by his alluring hazel eyes. They had a weird glint to them, she just couldn't explain it.

"Hello ma'am. Are you okay?" His voice was smooth and soft like silk. He had a faint accent which she couldn't place.

"Yes, I'm fine. Thank you." She noticed Diego moving to the back door and she followed him, completely ignoring the man who helped her.

She followed Diego out of the club and into the alleyway beside the club. He was on his phone, trying to call someone. She walked towards him and grabbed the phone, he was calling Alberto, his accomplice. She ended the call and kept the phone in her pocket.

"Why are you running, Diego?" She asked with a sardonic smile.

"I'm not running. I just... hmmm, I .. I came out to call someone." He stuttered.

"You know, only bad boys run away." She drawled in a sweet voice. She saw him shake and shift his feet in a nervous manner.

"Let's just keep this to ourselves. There's no reason for the boss to know." He said in a firm voice, trying to appear tough.

She caught him pulling his gun out and she smirked. She put her hand around his neck and squeezed it. In a quick motion, she grabbed the hand reaching for the gun and applied force to it till the wrist broke. He tried to scream but only a pained gasp came out.

"What should I not tell the boss?" She loosened her hold on his neck.

"It was only a little, I swear. I was in debt and I needed small money to bail myself out." He said in a low voice, his eyes were filled with fear. He squirmed in her hold, trying to escape.

"Wow!" She tightened her hold on his neck and chuckled. "Five kilos is not little. Stealing is an insult to the family, you just called the boss an idiot and you know what I feel about insults to my family."

"Please, don't kill me. I promise, I will return every dime I stole. Please." He pleaded with a croaking voice. Tears were falling down his face as he spoke.

"I really do not have the energy or interest to keep you alive. Like you said, it was small money, your blood will repay it." She released his neck and he started running. She pulled out her gun from her hip holster and attached a silencer to it. She shot his leg and and he fell down. She walked towards him with slow steps and bent down in front of him.

"Please, I will do anything. Anything you want." He pleaded with her.

"There is nothing you can do for me, but I will do you a favor. I will make it quick." She stood up and shot him point blank, between his eyes.

She heard a clang beside the alley and she went to check it. She saw the dust bin on the floor and a silhouette running. She hid her gun and ran after the person. She caught him just before he could enter the club. He turned his head and she froze.

It was the man who had helped her earlier. The light from the flickering bulb highlighted his face and she noticed how handsome he was. His pointed nose was straight and perfect, his cheekbones and his jawline were chiseled and his luscious cherry lips were beautiful. She wondered how his lips would feel against hers.

"What do you want?" His voice brought her out of her thoughts.

"Such a waste." She pouted as she stroke his brown curls.

He jerked back and moved away from her. She punched him in the gut and he bowed over. She hit him on the back and dragged him. He hit her leg and she dropped him. He rolled over and stood up. They both began fighting, Chiara was throwing punches at him and he stayed on defense. She threw a jab at his throat and pushed him against the wall.

She pulled out her gun and held it against his neck.

"Move slowly and do not attempt to run." She guided him to the alleyway where she killed Diego.

"You do not want to kill me. You will put your business at risk of many investigations." He said while looking at Diego's corpse.

"And why is that?" She removed the gun from his neck and stood in front of him with her gun pointed at him.

"I am a FBI agent. The whole agency will be looking for me."

She laughed and shot the wall two inches beside his head.

"I can make you disappear and erase your existence. I can stage your murder, kill you and blame someone else for it. Caro, if I want you dead, no one can stop me." (Darling) She caressed his face with the gun. He tried to grab the gun but failed. She switched off the safety and pointed it at him.

She knew that she ought to pull the trigger but she could not. She did not know what it was, she just did not want to kill him.

"You are in luck, I just might find a use for you." She held the gun against his back and directed him to her car. When he got in, she hit his head with the gun and he lost consciousness.

"Marcos, send some guys to clean up the garbage. I will send the address to you, I want it done soon and efficiently." She spoke through her phone.

Marcos was her capo and her childhood best friend. They grew up in the mafia together and they knew everything about each other. Her dad was the Don and his dad was the consigliere.

"Okay, I have received the address. They will be there soon." He replied her.

"Supervise the disposal, I have some business to attend to."

"Okay, call me when you are done."

She ended the call and looked at the man through her window. His large body was laid in an awkward position on the backseat of her Mercedes Benz. She smiled and got into the car.

As she drove, she wondered what she would do with him. She could not set him free and she did not want to kill him. He was not the first handsome man she had seen, but there was something about him that drew her to him.

I stood at my mother's open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest's voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone-he brought Charla with him. He claimed she'd had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.

My bank account showed exactly $42.18, and my student loan notifications were flashing red. I lived in a sweltering Queens apartment with my Aunt Lydia, where the air was thick with the smell of stale frying oil and the constant threat of being homeless. Lydia handed me a grainy photo of a man twice my age and told me she had already "sold" me to him. He was a dry cleaner looking for a wife, and in exchange for my hand, he would pay off her credit cards and my debt. If I didn't show up for the date that night, my boxes would be on the curb by midnight. I arrived at the cafe in a state of panic, my selective mutism making it impossible to even breathe. In the crowded room, I accidentally sat at the wrong table. Instead of the man from the photo, I found myself facing Gerhard Holcomb—the cold, terrifyingly handsome billionaire whose family owned the very museum where I worked. He didn't send me away; instead, he studied my trembling hands and offered me a different deal: a two-year contract marriage, a two-million-dollar payout, and a strict clause forbidding any children. I signed the papers and moved into his Park Avenue penthouse, thinking I was finally safe. But when I went back to the old apartment to retrieve the only memento of my dead parents, Lydia lashed out, leaving me bleeding from a head wound. Gerhard’s retaliation was absolute—he had her arrested and her building foreclosed on within hours, claiming he was simply "protecting his assets." As I recovered in his silent, glass-walled home, I saw a call from a famous socialite flash on his phone, and a cold truth settled in my gut. I wasn't just a wife; I was a placeholder, a silent shield used to fend off the women from his past. I looked at the massive pink diamond on my finger and realized the silence I had lived in my whole life was about to become my most expensive prison. I had traded a life of poverty for a high-stakes game of shadows, and now I had to survive the man who claimed to own me.

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.

Betrayed Bride: Claimed By The Brother

I arrived at the hotel with Julian's favorite takeout, ready to surprise my fiancé before our big merger. But the moment I swiped the keycard, the silence of the hallway felt heavy and wrong. Inside, a red-soled stiletto lay on the marble floor-the same one I'd watched my best friend Lila try on at Saks last week. Through the cracked bedroom door, I watched Julian's back arch as Lila looked me straight in the eye and smiled, wrapping her legs tighter around him to mock my heartbreak. I fled to the penthouse to hide, only to find Grafton, Julian's "crippled" brother, waiting in the dark. To my horror, the man who was supposed to be paralyzed stood up from his wheelchair, gripped my chin with cold fingers, and forced me to sign a contract that gave him control of my family's shares. He knew about my mother's secret medical bills and used them to buy my silence, effectively turning my life into a calculated game of corporate chess. The betrayal tasted like acid, and the injustice of it all burned in my throat. My fiancé was a liar, my best friend was a thief, and the man now controlling my fate was a predator who had been faking his disability for years. I couldn't understand how everyone I trusted had turned out to be a monster. I was trapped between a man who cheated on me and a man who wanted to own me, with no way out and no one to turn to. But when Julian came looking for me, Grafton didn't hide; he stood tall, looming over me with a possessive glint in his eyes. "Help me destroy Julian," I rasped, realizing that to survive the Faulkner men, I had to become the most dangerous player of them all.
