"Congratulations Ciel! I'm so happy for you." Alistair, Ciel's alpha best friend of sixteen years, cheered before leaning down to take the smaller omega into his arms.
Ciel reciprocated by winding his short arms around the alpha's large muscled back, which made Alistair make a muffled statement on Ciel's petite stature, which in turn got him an elbow jab in his stomach from the omega.
"I'm so happy for me too Alistair, I will finally be able to live with my alpha and we can start the family we've always dreamt of plus, I'm even happier about the fact that Natalie's kids and mine may grow together if Hugo and I mate soon." Ciel squealed happily as an image of Hugo, his boyfriend and himself, playing in the snow or an amusement park, with their child in the future and his sister, with her own mate and kids, formed in his head, causing the smile on his face to broaden.
Ciel had just been offered a job at the New York Institute of fashion as an assistant fashion director, though he was rejected six times for six consecutive years, before he was finally given the position that morning and that fateful day had coincided with Alistair's birthday, so the alpha had offered to take him out to The Cuisine de Venta, a highbrow restaurant that served intercontinental dishes in London.
The omega had been so happy to taste the spicy flavor of the red braised pork belly and rice, after a long three months of eating nothing but croissants and cinnamon rolls, due to his laziness to make healthy homemade meals for himself coupled with the dislike Hugo had for spicy meals. Ciel sighed in satisfaction as the familiar taste penetrated his taste buds.
Even though the food was not as delicious as the homemade, rich and tasty variety of dishes his mum used to make for him when he was younger, it was better at least to taste something a bit similar.
Ciel chuckled internally, when he realized Hugo would have no other option, but to adapt to the spiceless American dishes, that he was so much scared of. Hugo had left London for America, the month before as he had been offered a job as a software developer there.
So here he was, scarfing down the delicious dish as he cheerfully conversed with Alistair.
"My little Ciel is not so little anymore, you are going to start a pack of your own very soon, I'm sure of that and even if Hugo and I will never get along in this life we are in-" Alistair mused, which earned him a slightly nasty pinch on his bicep from Ciel's face.
"What? I'm just saying." Alistair huffed, before dropping his chopsticks to soothe the area Ciel pinched.
Ciel just snorted at his best friend, before reaching over to steal a freshly steamed beef from Alistair's plate.
"I don't hate the guy, but it's clear that, he doesn't and will probably never like me and I'm cool with that, as long as he treats you well and you're happy to be with him," Alistair said which made Ciel smile.
"You're such a big emotional oaf most times Ali, I swear," Ciel uttered to the alpha.
"So, when are you leaving for New York?" The alpha asked, taking a swig of beer.
"Why? Are you so eager to get rid of me?" Ciel teased.
"Yes, exactly." Alistair deadpanned.
"We have such a beautiful friendship." Ciel rolled his eyes, before sighing.
"I should leave in a week, they want me to start work over there as soon as possible and there are just little zoom meetings I can do," Ciel explained, to which Alistair nodded in agreement.
"I'm going to miss you badly, what am I going to do with my boring ass life?" Alistair wondered aloud with a pout.
"I will miss you too, but I will call you six to eight times a day, so you don't miss me too much, how is that?" Ciel suggested.
"Make it ten."
"Ali, you have to start mingling with other people. I'm still so worried about how you are going to live without me." Ciel sighed as he gazed at the alpha.
"I mingle with other people though." Alistair retorted.
"Yes, because Molly is a Maltipoo that turns human at times." Ciel mocked.
"Hey! Don't speak about my baby in such a disrespectful manner," Alistair whined in an unalphalike manner, which made Ciel snort out a laugh.
"But seriously Alistair, try to talk with other people at least your coworkers, and who knows if you may finally find an omega, that is up to your taste," Ciel suggested and Alistair just huffed.
"Please, my coworkers are the most annoying people on earth and I don't need them, if I talk to them I'd get even more depressed." The alpha uttered.
"I'm fine duckie, I will be okay, don't stress yourself too much over me," Alistair reassured and warmly squeezed Ciel's hand for a bit before withdrawing his hand to continue eating.
"I hope so."

"Hey, babe." Ciel beamed into the phone, waving at his boyfriend, Hugo, who was cladded in a pair of sweatpants and nothing upward with his body sheen with sweat, and his blonde hair tousled and a bit damp.
It seemed as if he had been exercising, before he picked up the call as he was breathing rapidly.
"Hi, my love, how are you?" Hugo asked, as he waved shortly at Ciel, who giggled at the gesture.
"I'm okay."
"I'm sorry I haven't called you since last week, I've been so busy and occupied with work, our company is currently developing this app that's extremely complicated and technical, I haven't even had time for myself, I was even thinking of calling you after exercising." Hugo rambled on with a sad pout wrinkling his lips, which made Ciel huff.
"Of course, I understand, I'm not some attention whore or a whiny bitch that always needs attention, I know you went to New York for work and I can comprehend that, just take care of yourself and don't strain yourself too much." Ciel exhorted.
"Yes, babe, thanks for understanding, I just came back from work not quite long ago, so, I decided to do some push-ups, because I missed gym days throughout last month, and with how heavier the workload is getting, I may miss more and I don't want to go out of shape, I want you to have something to hold onto when we-" Hugo arched his eyebrow teasingly, with a mischievous smile on his face.
Ciel just snickered, with an unimpressed look sitting on his face.
"Hugo, you shouldn't be stressing yourself like this, you just came back from work, rest a bit before you exercise, you're making me worry." Ciel sighed in apprehension as he massaged his forehead.
