Conquer the Alpha King Chapter 1 Flee

I saw the tunnel back to my attic from the darkness, not too far away. The wind from behind carried the strong scent of wolves that made me unable to stop being alert. I stretched out to speed up the glide quickly into the cellar. The smell of sewage coming into my nose did not scare me with the feeling of danger coming from behind.

They're scattering people who want to surround me in the middle, and if there's a circuit running straight ahead of me, I can't escape Jame net trap. I remember the direction down to the cave where most of us used to shower in the evening. For a moment, I decided to change direction, I licked the blood under my feet and calmly watched the wound quickly heal. The night wind passed by when I stepped on my heels backward, turned left, and plugged my head straight.

I listened to the sound of the wind coming and sped away, I gently crept among the tall trees blocking the road until I felt the steam in the air and knew that I was about to reach the cave. I successfully cut Jame's tail again. I knew I needed to get back to the shack before Jame got there. Otherwise, I was sure I'd be classified as a suspect.

The night is my real world, as long as night comes, I can maximize my abilities because I can control the speed of running faster than any Alpha. My accommodation for the servants was just makeshift shacks close together, with at least 30 servants arranged in this place. Most people went to bed, I quickly sneaked into my room and closed the door. Shortly after that, the loud shouting approached. I breathed a sigh of relief the second time I successfully escaped after the failed assassination of King David.

"Go out, hurry up."

I realized that this is the voice of Jame, the strongest general under King David, who hit me in the leg when I wasn't careful to let him beat me. I appreciate Jame, I have never surpassed him to kill King David successfully. Everyone and I lined up in front of my shack, only ten people, but I felt that they were all the strongest Alphas under King David. I'm absolutely confident they won't be able to find me.

"They all pulled up their pants." Jame shouted at the order.

Eric was right next to my shack, he was an Alpha, whispering in my ear, "Misa, what are they doing?"

I yawned and pretended to be no different from him. Soon Jame walked around us on his own, he looked very closely at each person's calf but still got no results. He sent his soldiers to wipe our calves with wet chestnuts and then rechecked them. Jame clutched my leg, and he stroked up and down continuously until my skin was flushed. Before they left, they did not forget to turn up all the poor rooms so poor that they no longer took a decent sleeping place as if to reveal dissatisfaction in it.

The next day, as usual, I had to go to the front of King David's palace. This is my job. Every day I have to fill the water inspired take to the mountains into all the water bottles in the electricity. I've been doing this job for a year, but I haven't met King David yet. I know the king rests inside the main hall every night, and I hardly see him show up every day.

Jame stood from a distance looking at me with sharp eyes full of arrogance, a slight trembling in my heart. What could he see? It's impossible. I'm sure I've shielded myself very carefully. It wasn't until I finished my work that he slowly walked away. In the days that followed, Jame's frequent appearances left me bewildered to the point but not brave enough to ask directly.

"Misa, come here."

Brucer was sweetly calling me, and deep down, I felt so guilty about Brucer. She saw me as Alpha and sent a signal to pair with me. Brucer is King David's sister, and if I were a natural alpha, I would go with Brucer. But no? I wish this could happen.

Brucer gave me two roast chickens. I might be shy, but if I didn't eat anything all day, I would be insanely hungry.

"Thank you, Brucer."

Brucer has light yellow hair, big round eyes that often sparkle blue light, smooth white skin, wet red lips, and an intelligent high forehead. I like Brucer's sunny smile, and sometimes I wish I could make this smile forever impossible to turn off.

"Misa, my brother will be back tomorrow. And I will tell him about wanting to marry you then."

Suddenly I couldn't feel the scent of roast chicken anymore. I couldn't confess to Brucer that I was just a fake alpha. It was like pushing me to death, King David was so fond of his sister I couldn't even think of how many pieces of meat I would be skewered in the face of his brutal authoritarianism.

"Brucer, I can't."

I was annoyed when Brucer eyes filled with tears, "What's wrong with you? Married to me, you don't have to be enslaved. Isn't that good for you?"

"Would Sir David agree?" I hesitated to ask.

Brucer happily put on my arm like a child filled with joy, "Sure, whatever I want, he'll agree."

I knew my last chance was coming, king David would be back tomorrow, and I had the opportunity to meet him in person.

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband’s Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn’t find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn’t even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father’s legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn’s party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara’s health and managing every detail of Caden’s empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I’d drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause—if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I’d forgotten.

The heavy thud of the release stamp was the only goodbye I got from the warden after five years in federal prison. I stepped out into the blinding sun, expecting the same flash of paparazzi bulbs that had seen me dragged away in handcuffs, but there was only a single black limousine idling on the shoulder of the road. Inside sat my mother and sister, clutching champagne and looking at my frayed coat with pure disgust. They didn't offer a welcome home; instead, they tossed a thick legal document onto the table and told me I was dead to the city. "Gavin and I are getting engaged," my sister Mia sneered, flicking a credit card at me like I was a stray dog. "He doesn't need a convict ex-fiancée hanging around." Even after I saved their lives from an armed kidnapping attempt by ramming the attackers off the road, they rewarded me by leaving me stranded in the dirt. When I finally ran into Gavin, the man who had framed me, he pinned me against a wall and threatened to send me back to a cell if I ever dared to show my face at their wedding. They had stolen my biotech research, ruined my name, and let me rot for half a decade while they lived off my brilliance. They thought they had broken me, leaving me with nothing but an expired chapstick and a few old photos in a plastic bag. What they didn't know was that I had spent those five years becoming "Dr. X," a shadow consultant with five hundred million dollars in crypto and a secret that would bring the city to its knees. I wasn't just a victim anymore; I was a weapon, and I was pregnant with the heir they thought they had erased. I walked into the Melton estate and made an offer to the most powerful man in New York. "I'll save your grandfather's life," I told Horatio Melton, staring him down. "But the price is your last name. I'm taking back what's mine, and I'm starting with the man who thinks he's marrying my sister."

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.
