In all of the Iroc Continent, I was the strongest mercenary. But suddenly my grandfather assigned me to be a campus belle's bodyguard. Her name was Christine. Initially, she didn't want me around and even tried to drive me away, but her father stopped her. On my first day as her bodyguard, she went to the bank and gave me a million dollars to drive me away, but I refused. I didn't come to her for money! Unexpectedly, several vicious robbers broke into the bank. She cried for help and told me to call the police, but I was skilled enough to have them on their knees all on my own. Christine was dumbfounded, but she was still unimpressed. "So what if you're good at fighting? Just leave me alone!" I replied, "Don't you understand? You're going to die without me!" The next day, I found a bomb in her car and a gunman who hid around the corner. Again, I saved her from the attack. The distrust in her eyes was wiped out. "Alas, I might as well give up on this job for how dangerous it turned out to be!" But this time, Christine begged me, "Please, don't leave me!"

The Super Bodyguard And His Campus Belle Chapter 1 The Strange Man

Rhett Scott was in a very bad mood now. He missed his cozy life in the Iroc Continent.

He missed going hunting in the forest with his friends, where they drove a pickup truck, held an AK47 in their hands, and chased lions and hippos.

Every time he heard the sound of the gun, he felt like his life was so unrestrained.

At night, they gathered around a bonfire and ate delicious barbecue, playing with the Iroc girls.

When he danced to the music, he could release his emotions, and he felt so happy.

Rhett really didn't know what his grandfather was thinking.

He didn't understand why his grandfather asked him to go to Ionia to be a bodyguard for a rich lady.

Wasn't it ridiculous? He was a powerful mercenary in Iroc, but he would soon have to work as a humble bodyguard.

Rhett was now in Navori, the capital of Ionia.

Since there were numerous colleges and universities in this place, there was always a shortage of transportation every school season.

Rhett hailed a taxi. After giving the driver the address, he leaned against the passenger seat and closed his eyes to rest.

Before long, the driver picked up other passengers. A young man and woman got in and sat in the back seat.

"You are more beautiful than the pictures online,"

said the sly-looking man to the young woman next to him.

"Let's have dinner first. Then we'll go to my place to take the poodle. I'll give it to you for free. What do you think?"

As he spoke, the man looked at the hourglass figure of the young woman up and down greedily.

"No, I've agreed to pay for your dog. I won't take it for nothing,"

said the young woman, shaking her head decidedly.

When the man noticed that she didn't pay much attention to him, he felt snubbed and looked away.

He looked at the shirtless Rhett in front, who was wearing only shorts and slippers.

"Hey, buddy, are you a college student too? Why are you dressed so casually?"

"I'm here to work," Rhett answered perfunctorily.

The man curled his lips and said almost inaudibly, "Do you work on a construction site?"

There were many white-collar elites in Navori. Only some part-time construction workers had such a habit of hanging around shirtless.

Thinking of this, the sly-looking man suddenly felt a sense of superiority.

"Just continue flirting with your net friend. Don't bother me," Rhett said and waved his hand like fanning a fly away.

"You..." The man felt humiliated being underestimated by a part-time worker.

"With your awful character, you will never be successful for the rest of your life. You can at most glean and collect scraps at the gate of our school."

Rhett glanced at him and retorted, "If you work as a security guard in a bank after graduation, your disgusting face will affect the clients' mood and reduce the bank's performance.

I suggest you find a job in the zoo. Stay in the cage every day, let tourists appreciate your face, and take some photos. That's the most suitable job for you."

The man was so angry that his face turned red. "You're only good at chicanery. You are not a real man after all."

"Oh, it sounds like you're a real man. Then why do you bring Triazolam pills and Viagra with you when hanging out with a woman?"

Rhett said leisurely, glancing at the sly-looking man's pocket.

The man was shocked, wondering how Rhett knew what was in his pocket.

He got so panicky that he suddenly punched Rhett.

"Shut up! I don't know what you're talking about."

The man didn't know that he was unlucky to provoke Rhett, who was in a bad mood.

Rhett suddenly pulled the handbrake, making the car stop.

The man was caught off guard and bumped his forehead on the roof of the car. He flew into a rage. He raised his head and looked at Rhett fiercely.

Rhett released the handbrake and got out of the car. Then he dragged the man out and threw him to the ground.

The sly-looking man got up and looked at Rhett viciously. He made a posture, getting ready to fight with Rhett in close combat.

Rhett stepped forward and grabbed the man's arm with one hand and the man's foot with the other.

He lifted the man as if he was a professional weightlifter.

Then after glancing at the roadside lawn in the distance, he threw the sly-looking man there.

The man drew a perfect parabola in the air, landed on the lawn, and screamed desperately. Then he made no sound.

Rhett returned to the car calmly and ordered the driver, "Drive."

At first, he only wanted to see if his X-ray vision was still effective in Ionia.

But he unintentionally glanced at the man's pocket and saw the things inside the man's wallet. He found that the man was a scumbag.

'Well, I'm just doing a good deed,' he thought and shrugged his shoulders.

"Will he be okay?" the young woman in the back seat asked timidly, looking at Rhett.

"Do you feel sorry for that lecher? Do you need me to help you get out of the car too?" Rhett asked without looking back.

"No, no, no. I actually don't know him personally. I only wanted to buy a poodle online. He said he had one, so I came here to make a deal with him."

The young woman paused for a moment, then continued to explain in a low voice, "And he said he is a senior in our school."

She was afraid that Rhett, who looked violent in her eyes, would also throw her out of the car.

"Well, you should always be mindful of the harm others might do to you. That man asked you to go to his place to take the dog. Do you think you can safely leave after you go there? You are too naive."

Rhett picked up the pills the man left in the car, threw them to the young woman, and said, "Search these online, you silly girl!"

The young woman was so startled that she immediately took out her phone to check.

After a while, her face turned deathly pale. She didn't expect that they were sleeping pills and aphrodisiacs.

She gave Rhett a complicated look.

If she didn't meet this bad-tempered, ruthless, and violent man today, she would be in trouble.

"We're here. It's four hundred dollars," the taxi driver said to Rhett calmly as he stopped the car.

'No matter how strong he is, he's still new in Navori. He will definitely be deceived to give me more money than he should,' the driver thought inwardly.

"Do you have money? Lend me some first. I know you're a student at Navori University. I'll pay you back in the future,"

Rhett said to the young woman casually.

It was his first time borrowing money from a woman, and it was all his grandfather's fault.

His grandfather kicked him out of Iroc without even giving him a chance to put on a shirt, let alone take his wallet.

No wonder he was regarded as a part-time construction worker.

The young woman opened her wallet without hesitation, counted some cash, and handed it to Rhett.

Rhett nodded at her, handed the money to the driver, and got out of the car.

Then he said, "One hundred for the fare and three hundred for the hood. Check it."

Holding the money in his hand, the driver looked at Rhett in confusion, wondering what Rhett meant by three hundred dollars for the hood.

Without saying anything, Rhett went straight to the front of the car and glanced at the driver.

Then he clenched his fist and smashed the hood hard.

He ripped a hole on the iron hood effortlessly as if it was just a piece of paper.

Rhett pulled out his hand and smashed it on the hood again, ripping another hole.

He punched the hood again and again with a constant strength.

The driver looked at the severely damaged hood, his heart beating wildly in horror.

He had been a taxi driver for so many years, but it was his first time meeting such a violent passenger.

The hood of the car was not made of foam or planks but of iron.

Where did this man come from? Were all young construction workers as strong as him?

The driver felt very regretful. He didn't know if Rhett's iron fist would land on him later.

He broke out in a cold sweat, glancing at Rhett from the corner of his eye from time to time. He was so scared to have eye contact with Rhett.

His heart couldn't bear this kind of stimulation.

"Debbie Jones of Navori University, right? I'll pay you back in the future."

Rhett had already vented his emotions, so he stretched out his hand, waved to the back, then walked away.

Debbie watched his receding figure, feeling a little moved. She thought he was really special.

She looked down at the name on her school ID card and thought of something.

Her slender and fair neck gradually turned crimson.

I woke up in a blindingly white hotel penthouse with a throbbing headache and the taste of betrayal in my mouth. The last thing I remembered was my stepsister, Cathie, handing me a flute of champagne at the charity gala with a smile that didn't reach her eyes. Now, a tall, dangerously handsome man walked out of the bathroom with a towel around his hips. On the nightstand sat a stack of hundred-dollar bills. My stepmother had finally done it—she drugged me and staged a scandal with a hired escort to destroy my reputation and my future. "Aisha! Is it true you spent the night with a gigolo?" The shouts of a dozen reporters echoed through the heavy oak door as camera flashes exploded through the peephole. My phone lit up with messages showing my bank accounts were already frozen. My father was invoking the 'morality clause' in my mother’s trust fund, and my fiancé had already released a statement dumping me to marry my stepsister instead. I was trapped, penniless, and being hunted by the press for a scandal I hadn't even participated in. My own family had sold me out for a payday, and the man standing in front of me was the only witness who could prove I was innocent—or finish me off for good. I didn't have time to cry. According to the fine print of the trust, I had thirty days to prove my "rehabilitation" through a legal marriage or I would lose everything. I tracked the man down to a coffee shop the next morning, watching him take a thick envelope of cash from a wealthy older woman. I sat across from him and slid a napkin with a $50,000 figure written on it. "I need a husband. Legal, paper-signed, and convincing." He looked at the number, then at me, a slow, crooked smile spreading across his face. I thought I was hiring a desperate gigolo to save my inheritance. I had no idea I was actually proposing to Dominic Fields, the reclusive billionaire shark who was currently planning a hostile takeover of my father’s entire empire.

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch—a titan of industry and my best friend’s father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

I was four months pregnant, weighing over two hundred pounds, and my heart was failing from experimental treatments forced on me as a child. My doctor looked at me with clinical detachment and told me I was in a death sentence: if I kept the baby, I would die, and if I tried to remove it, I would die. Desperate for a lifeline, I called my father, Francis Acosta, to tell him I was sick and pregnant. I expected a father's love, but all I got was a cold, sharp blade of a voice. "Then do it quietly," he said. "Don't embarrass Candi. Her debutante ball is coming up." He didn't just reject me; he erased me. My trust fund was frozen, and I was told I was no longer an Acosta. My fiancé, Auston, had already discarded me, calling me a "bloated whale" while he looked for a thinner, wealthier replacement. I left New York on a Greyhound bus, weeping into a bag of chips, a broken woman the world considered a mistake. I couldn't understand how my own father could tell me to die "quietly" just to save face for a party. I didn't know why I had been a lab rat for my family’s pharmaceutical ambitions, or how they could sleep at night while I was left to rot in the gray drizzle of the city. Five years later, the doors of JFK International Airport slid open. I stepped onto the marble floor in red-soled stilettos, my body lean, lethal, and carved from years of blood and sweat. I wasn't the "whale" anymore; I was a ghost coming back to haunt them. With my daughter by my side and a medical reputation that terrified the global elite, I was ready to dismantle the Acosta empire piece by piece. "Tell Francis to wash his neck," I whispered to the skyline. "I'm home."
