"This marriage means nothing to me." I say, sternly. "Neither does it, to me." ~~~ They were becoming friends until the wedding news struck. An arranged marriage with a model turns out to be more complicated than words could say. An unexpected marriage with secrets not yet taken care of. Hatred turning into better emotions, until pasts comes into the picture. It all went wrong on the alter when vows were being exchanged. How dangerous can their wrong be?
The taking off and landing of the plane is one of the fearful moments in my life. Anyone who sees me right now will never guess that I am the soon to be CEO of Walker industries.
I let go of the old woman sitting beside me and open my eyes with a huff breath as the plane stops. I give the old woman a sorry face as she smiles at me before standing. I do the same and carry my luggage from the argo. I carry it down the stairs and hand it over to my assistant, Oscar.
"You have a meeting with your dad." He informs as we walk to the car.
"Yes. Take me to Eric after that."
"Ok." He opens the backseat door for me and I get in then he walks to sit in the passenger's seat before the drive drives off.
"Is that the only thing I have to do?"
"Yes, sir. Your tomorrow's schedule though, is tight. You will not be free until eight pm."
"What's the first and when is it scheduled at?"
"You are having a meeting with Cuben Production and it's scheduled at 7:15am."
"Ok." I take out my phone from my pocket as it rings. I smile and answer it when I see who the caller is.
""Have you arrived?"
"Yes, I have."
"Ok, I'll come pick you up."
"No, you don't have to. Oscar already did. I'mon my way to see dad."
"Ok, then. I'll come around later tonight."
"Ok." I smile. He says his goodbye and ends the call.
"Was that Ethan?" Oscar looks back to ask and I answer with a nod. "He told me to inform him when you arrive but I forgot."
"Oh. He said he'll come around, so I'll be expecting his later tonight."
"Ok." He says as the car stops. I step down from the car and walk into the huge building. Old workers who are familiar with me sent greetings my way and I made my way to dad's office.
I walk I to his office with a huge smile on my face. Nothing has changed in his office except from the smell.
"Had a change of mind towards your perfume?"
He looks up from his paper work at me like he hadn't noticed my presence. He stands up from his leather office chair and walks to pull me in for a hug. He pulls away and rests his hands on my shoulder, taking in my appearance from head to toe. He shakes his head and smile before walking back to sit.
"You mum didn't like it."
"Yeah, she never did but you finally listened to her?"
"I had to. I could see it was starting to raise arguement between us."
"It's good you stopped it." I sit opposite him. I look round the room again like it's my first time being here. "So, what is so important that you couldn't spare me rest today."
"It is important. I felt the need to tell you sooner."
"What's that?"
"Have you heard of Smith industries?"
"Yah, alot."
"They are currently our biggest investors."
"Really? When did this happen?"
"While you were away. I told him so much about you and he's curious to see you."
"I will love to."
"Great!" He smiles. "Mr. Smith has specially invited us to his wedding anniversary party. That will be the day after tomorrow."
"I think my schedule is full then." I say disappointed.
"You aren't missing the party for anything, son."
"Dad."
"Don't worry about it. I will ask Oscar to make some changes."
"Ok."
"That is all." I nod. Just as I'm about to stand to leave, Elsie walks into the office with a smug look on her face which immediately changes into a suprised one the moment she sees me.
"You're here!" She says excitedly, then her face drops. "I've been trying to get through to your line but it wasn't going."
"I didn't see your call neither did I see any notification." She snatches my phone from my hand and starts operating it. "What are you doing?" I ask, wondering.
"Here." She shook my phone back in my hand. I look at it and see the seven missed calls from her. Oh. I look back at her as she folds her hand and raise her brows at me. I do nothing but shrug my shoulders. "Seven. Freaking seven. Missed. Calls."
"Why seven?"
"You guys should please talk outside. I've got a lot of work doing." I hum before standing to walk behind Elsie out of his office.
"Coffee?" She frowns and walks away, out of the building to my car.
"Or something to eat." She suggests.
I chuckle at her chic behaviour. "Let's go." I instruct the driver
