Chapter 1 One

It was a sunny afternoon, after the usual pack meeting. The Silvermoon pack members were going about their normal day-to-day activities. Just like the usual days, Alpha Salvador and his Luna, Emerald were seated outside, enjoying the cold breeze. Their twins had gone out on a walk with his Beta who was also a good friend of his. The Luna rested her back on the armchair, smiling beautifully. "Salvador" she called

"Yes beauty"

"I still can't believe it over five years now, since we've been together". She sat up slowly. "I can still remember how they rejected me in the first place. You know been a witch mated to a werewolf wasn't easy"

He smiled and held her hand. "But we fought hard to be together and we conquered"

"Yes, we did. And the twins are the result of our success. Did you remember when the twins were born?"

He smiled."It's a day I'll never forget. Watching them sleep peacefully, gave me peace of mind"

She smiled. "Holding my bundles of joy was a dream come true. What gave me joy the most is that they were born special"

He nodded in agreement. "Born special indeed". The conversation continued for a while, as both were happy. Their beautiful moment was ruined when a guard rushed to them, informing them about the invasion of the Munar pack, known for their brutality.

"How many lives were lost?" The Alpha asked

"Over a hundred armies" the guard replied

"Get the children and old ones to the cave now!!" The Luna ordered. The guard rushed to do as he was told. "How did they succeed in breaking my shield?. I think something is wrong somewhere" she paced around angrily

"Emerald, You should calm down," the Alpha said.

"I can't calm down. I can't" she yelled. There's no way she will calm down. Not with the things happening now. Not with the lives of their pack members in danger. The lives she had safeguarded for some years now.

"Guards!!!" The Alpha called. Four guards rushed forward and kneel. He pointed at one of the guards. "Yel, call me the head guard". The guards left, leaving just three. "Mark, go find the Beta. I've been trying to mind link him but it isn't working. Let him know there is danger and make sure the twins are safe"

Mark bowed. "Yes Alpha"

"Go now!" Mark stood up and left. "Gayle, go to the Beta's house, get his wife and kids to a safe place"

"Yes Alpha". Gayle left and the head guard rushed in

"Alpha, they are getting closer. We can't hold them any longer!!"

The Alpha sighed. "We will have to fight back. Get the armies ready. We are marching to war!!"

"Yes Alpha" the head guard left leaving the last guard kneeling

The Alpha turned to face him. "Miller, take the Luna to a safe place"

"No way. We're going together" Emerald yelled

"Eme love. This fight is a matter of lives and death. You have to stay safe for me and the twins"

"No Sal. You know I can help. The twins will be safe. Your Beta will keep them safe. Let me go with you. Let me guard our pack please" she pleaded

"Eme......."

"Please". He sigh. "I'll keep them distracted while you get the armies ready," she said. Before he could say a word, she vanished into thin air.

"Miller, you know you're my most trusted guard. Take this, go into hiding. Don't show your face. If you see we're losing the battle, go to the Maddox Pack and ask for help. Hand over this to them, they know what to do" He stretched a gold bracelet to him. "Go!!"

"No Alpha. I want to fight side by side with you. I want to guard you with my life"

"Miller, it's a command, go now!!"

Miller had no choice but to leave. "Please be safe Alpha". The Alpha nodded and Miller left. He sigh. It's time to guard and protect his pack

**

The Luna appeared just a few meters away from the border. After some enchantment, she realized the shield was weak. "How could a shield which has guided them for over ten years, suddenly gets weak and harbor their enemies without giving her a sign? Not even a little?" She thought

She could see more of their enemies trooping in, as more lives were been wasted. Being a witch, and a powerful one at that, it wasn't hard for her to strengthen the already weak shield. She succeeded. Having succeeded, she joined in the battle. Swords clashed, throats were slaughtered, lives were wasted. But luck was on their sides. The victory was becoming theirs and they have the hope that they will conquer.

At the end of the battle, they won or so they thought. Having killed so many of their enemies, they sang and danced, jubilating their success. The children and old ones taken to the cave were returned to the pack. It was a happy moment for every member of the park. But their happiness will soon be cut short, as a greater misfortune, which will end not just lives but bring an end to the Silvermoon pack for life is about to befall them!!.

I hid my anger already building up. I lean on her locker and she growled. I smirked. I love to see her get angry. "That makes you mine" She chuckled but suddenly stopped. She folded her hands and glared at me. "And who told you that?" "I know so. You've been chosen as my mate by the moon goddess" She laughed. "Sorry to burst your bubbles mister, I reject you!!". I batted my lashes. Did she just rejected me in public?. She turned to leave. I watched her walked away and I stood rooted to a spot. It's so surprising I got rejected by my mate. I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch—a titan of industry and my best friend’s father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

My stepmother sold me like a piece of inventory to a man known for breaking people just to plug the financial crater my father left behind. I was delivered to the Morton estate in the middle of a freezing storm, stripped of my phone, and told that if I didn't make myself useful, my senile grandfather would be evicted from his care facility by noon. The master of the house, Adonis Morton IV, was a monster living in a silent mausoleum, driven to the brink of madness by a sensory condition that turned every sound into a physical assault. When I was forced into his suite to serve him, he didn't see a human being; he saw a source of agony. In a fit of animalistic rage, he pinned me to the wall and nearly strangled me to death just for the sound of a shattering teacup. I only survived by using my grandfather’s secret herbal blends and pressure-point therapy to force his overactive nervous system into a drugged sleep. But saving him was my greatest mistake. Instead of letting me go, Adonis moved me into a guest suite connected to his own bedroom by a hidden door. He didn't just want me as a servant; he needed me as a human white-noise machine to drown out the demons in his head. The nightmare deepened when he took the promissory note that defined my freedom and tore it into confetti. By destroying the debt, he destroyed my exit strategy. He replaced my maid’s uniform with a silver silk dress that clung to my skin but did nothing to hide the dark, ugly bruises his fingers had left on my neck. He branded me as his "primary care associate," a title that was nothing more than a gilded cage. I felt a sickening sense of injustice as he forced me to sign a contract that banned me from contacting other men and required me to sleep wherever he slept. He looked at me with a possessive heat, calling me his "medication" rather than a woman. My family had sold my body, but Adonis Morton was intent on owning my very presence, using my grandfather’s medical bills as a leash to keep me within twenty feet of him at all times. Standing in a neglected greenhouse with mud staining my expensive silk, I realized I was no longer a victim waiting for rescue. If I was going to be his medication, I would learn how to be his cure—or his undoing. I began clearing the weeds with a cold, calculated frenzy, determined to turn this prison into my laboratory. He thinks he has trapped a helpless girl, but I am going to pry open the cracks in his stone walls until his entire world comes crashing down.
