Steve Kent that struck fear into people's heart is best known for being the third master of the most powerful family of Arlington City. He is also ruthless, cold hearted, and arrogant. However, he is cruel to everyone except Nina. Nina Green was thrown to the street where she met Steve for the first time by her family. It was he who saved her from suffering and it was he who protected her from being insulted. It was reasonable for her to fall in love with the man who helped her again and again. Finally, it was said that she is the apple of Steve's eye.

Chapter 1 Get out, Nina

As soon as Nina moved, she realized that something was wrong. Sitting up in a hurry, her mind went blank when she found out that she wasn't wearing an inch of cloth over her body.

"Nina...."

When the man's voice came to her ears, she looked even paler.

"Cousin-in-law?"

Larson also felt that something was wrong, and he looked at Nina, "Did we...."

"Let's talk about this later. Get dressed!"

Nina forced herself to calm down. Except the nudity of her body and the pain on and off in her temples, there was no discomfort.

Suddenly, the door of the room was knocked straight open by force, just before she could make it to the bathroom. Zara screamed as she rushed in, "Ah! Nina! Larson! What have you done!"

The person who accompanied them was York - her fiance!

Nina's face froze. Before she even opened her mouth, Zara slapped her right in the cheek.

It was a slap with all her strength, strong enough to show a mark of five fingers on her face at once.

"How could you live up to me, Nina! I can't believe you did this to me!"

Zara seemed to be out of her mind. She dragged Nina in the hair and started to beat her, tears dripping from her face. Nina tried to pull her away with one hand while holding the sheet, which was the only thing to cover her body, with the other hand: "Let go of me! Last night, it was...."

"Slap...."

"It was you who helped me into this bedroom," Zara hit her again, even before she could finish the sentence.

"Are you still justifying yourself, Nina! I knew you liked Larson for a long time. I just didn't expect that you would...."

With her secret thoughts exposed, Nina subconsciously glanced at Larson, who was standing still, gazing on her, without any intention to help her.

"Do you need men so much? Why did you have to seduce your cousin-in-law? You just got engaged to York!"

Zara scolded her uninterruptedly, not giving her a chance to open her mouth at all.

Nina's head was in such pain that, she felt as if someone had split it open. After what had happened, she didn't even have time to sort out who had set her up, while Zara dragged her by her hair and pulled her out of the room, "You get out! Get the hell out of here, Nina!"

Nina had a feeling that her scalp was almost ripped off her head. She reached out to control Zara's hands, pulling against the one who had already lost her sanity, "Let go of Me! There is nothing going on between Larson and me!"

"Do you see me for a fool? Both naked and sleeping together, and you are telling me nothing is going on?"

It was hard to know where Zara got such strength to tug Nina all the way downstairs while she was struggling.

"Zara, what are you doing?!"

Charles Jones, father of Zara, came out and sternly shouted at her, but he had no intention to step up and help Nina!

"Dad! Look at that wolf you raised! She even seduced her own cousin-in-law, in our own house, on my birthday, last night!"

"I didn't!"

Nina gritted her teeth and coldly gazed at Charles.

She had long known before that Charles and his family were keen to kick her out, but she had never expected that they would use such a nasty approach!

That glass of wine she drank last night was clearly dosed. When she felt dizzy, it was Zara who sent her back to her room. She knew the Jones family had set a trap for her as soon as she calmed down!

Her eyes were so fierce that Charles was stalled for a moment. However, as an old and cunning man, it didn't take long for him to react, "Nina, how could you do this!"

Hearing Charles' words, Nina spoke no more and snorted.

"Get out of here! The Jones family doesn't have a place for a white-eyed wolf like you!"

When Zara moved herd, Nina felt as if her scalp was going to be pulled away from her head. With hot tears rolling in her eyes, she was dragged all the way out of the entrance to the villa.

"Ah...."

"Squeak...."

Nina was pushed into the middle of the road, where a sports car barely stopped before clashing her. When she saw the man inside the car, Nina froze in horror.

I stood at my mother’s open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest’s voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone—he brought Charla with him. He claimed she’d had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.

I was four months pregnant, weighing over two hundred pounds, and my heart was failing from experimental treatments forced on me as a child. My doctor looked at me with clinical detachment and told me I was in a death sentence: if I kept the baby, I would die, and if I tried to remove it, I would die. Desperate for a lifeline, I called my father, Francis Acosta, to tell him I was sick and pregnant. I expected a father's love, but all I got was a cold, sharp blade of a voice. "Then do it quietly," he said. "Don't embarrass Candi. Her debutante ball is coming up." He didn't just reject me; he erased me. My trust fund was frozen, and I was told I was no longer an Acosta. My fiancé, Auston, had already discarded me, calling me a "bloated whale" while he looked for a thinner, wealthier replacement. I left New York on a Greyhound bus, weeping into a bag of chips, a broken woman the world considered a mistake. I couldn't understand how my own father could tell me to die "quietly" just to save face for a party. I didn't know why I had been a lab rat for my family’s pharmaceutical ambitions, or how they could sleep at night while I was left to rot in the gray drizzle of the city. Five years later, the doors of JFK International Airport slid open. I stepped onto the marble floor in red-soled stilettos, my body lean, lethal, and carved from years of blood and sweat. I wasn't the "whale" anymore; I was a ghost coming back to haunt them. With my daughter by my side and a medical reputation that terrified the global elite, I was ready to dismantle the Acosta empire piece by piece. "Tell Francis to wash his neck," I whispered to the skyline. "I'm home."
