Chapter 1 Monday Diary

Monday, January 12th, 2015

7:40 am

I'd never knew Mondays were that good. The wind blows silently, gently forcing itself into the room from underneath the closed curtains. The birds were singing in perfect harmony and the aircon was at a great temperature letting everything go in sync. The bed has never been more comfortable as the sheets were cold everywhere. The eyes of a blessed human can never open in this condition, well...until the disturbing sound of an alarm rings in. That's the worst thing about Mondays

I groaned and shut the alarm clock. Peeking a glimpse of the time, I immediately threw away the duvet and ran out of bed.

"O shoot, it's 7:40 already?" I yelled, taking off my pajamas as quickly as I could be, and threw myself into the bathroom for a quick shower.

7:47 am

I got out of the shower, the time was already reading 7:47, That was not how I planned my first day back to school, but I have a problem with being punctual. Lucky enough, my uniform was waiting in the closet.

The time was running but this young man must look tidy. I had not much time, so I did my hair while it's still wet. I got myself into the uniform, a suit with no tie. I left the collar unbuttoned and the blazer as well, they was just a burden. Looking at the mirror I sprayed on my signature scent, lavender, picked out a wristwatch, and moved on to pick my backpack at the study desk before leaving the room.

"I will miss you baby"

7:58 am

"Morning, family" I greeted my grandparents.

My grandmother was in the kitchen getting my breakfast ready, while my grandfather was reading the newspaper and drinking coffee on the table. We are a small happy family.

-Grandma: Hey sweetie. Sit down and have your breakfast.

-Grandpa: Late on the first day! Why can't you for once get out of bed early?

-Grandma: [serving breakfast] Hon take it easy on the boy, he's trying.

"[under my breath] preach woman"

-Grandpa: stop spoiling him. I need to get to work early but he keeps getting me late.

"Why do you have to be at work early when you own the place?" i said

-Grandpa: As the leader, you have to be a role model.

"[scoff] if I must be punctual to be a leader, no thank you. And...it's still not late to get me a chauffeur, at least before I reach 16. That way you don't have to wait for me and be late."

-Grandpa: young man, you are not getting a chauffeur. I can always drop you at school.

"God! I am fourteen, everyone in the school has one"

-Grandma: sweetie stop it and finish your breakfast. You are getting late.

"but grandma everyone in school has one"

-Grandpa: you'll get one when you start to make your own money. Now get up let's move.

"but I will get a car when am sixteen right?"

-Grandma: [giggle] boy, you will get a car when you're getting married.

"[groaned in disappointment] you guys are crushing my dreams"

My grandparents are just so overprotective. They hate anything that will lead to me leaving their side. I've always wanted a chauffeur and unlucky for me, they don't believe in spending on such things or maybe anything I wanted.

8:05 am

"O my god! Grandpa am so late, can you speed up a little?" I complained. My grandpa never drives fast. That was the main reason I wanted a chauffeur.

It seemed like everything was going slowly except for the time. It happens always when I am late.

-Grandpa: if you don't want to be late you can learn to wake up early.

"there you go again" I rolled my eyes.

-Grandpa: back in my days we got punished for going to school late. I don't know why they stopped the rule"

"it's a private school grandpa, IT'S A PRIVATE SCHOOL"

-Grandpa: well don't put it on me for driving safe then.

"okay"

"but are you sure you don't wanna get me a chauffeur?"

-Grandpa: one more talk about chauffeur and you will get out of my car.

"what about school?"

-Grandpa: I don't care, what I know is I want to see you at school when I come to pick you up.

"OKAY."

"Then...what about sweet sixteen?"

-Grandpa: I will think about it.

8:00 am

Grandpa dropped me in front of the school lobby. When I got out of the car, I was greeted by my buddy Kyle. It's not every day you see a student in the lobby at this time.

-Kyle: Hey dude. Late again.

"Yeah I know"

"What are you doing out here?"

-Kyle: bruh! Who goes to on the first day back?

"Someone that wants to graduate"

-Kyle: Thank God I don't wanna graduate

"Maybe if you go to class you might be a little smarter"

"Where's mike?"

-Kyle: Don't know. Probably in maths class.

"Ok"

"I'll see you later" I walked off

Kyle is the laziest and dumbest person In my life. He just can't stand going to class, the longest he stayed in class is for ten minutes and that's because he fell asleep. He's handsome thou but his grades are not.

On my way to class, I came across our form teacher Ms. Grace. She always gets on my nerves and I still can't figure out why. Seeing her around means trouble.

"Good morning Ms. Grace"

-Ms. Grace: Morning. Late on the first day? You need to work on your punctuality Mr. Kamara, the classes started already.

"I will, Miss"

"Am going to class now" I tried using all effort to leave before she brings any more trouble.

-Ms. Grace: uh! Mr. Kamara!?

"God no" I thought

"Yes, Miss" I answered

-Ms. Grace: your last semester was disappointing. Your grades were very poor.

"Stop exaggerating miss, it was just two classes"

-Ms. Grace: Two classes are still classes and if you fail you'll carry over.

"Okay, miss I will work harder" I rolled my eyeballs.

-Ms. Grace: No meet me at my office after class.

"Okay miss"

"Let's get married," Mia declares, her voice trembling despite her defiant gaze into Stefan's guarded brown eyes. She needs this, even if he seems untouchable. Stefan raises a skeptical brow. "And why would I do that?" His voice was low, like a warning, and it made her shiver even though she tried not to show it. "We both have one thing in common," Mia continues, her gaze unwavering. "Shitty fathers. They want to take what's ours and give it to who they think deserves it." A pointed pause hangs in the air. "The only difference between us is that you're an illegitimate child, and I'm not." Stefan studies her, the heiress in her designer armor, the fire in her eyes that matches the burn of his own rage. "That's your solution? A wedding band as a weapon?" He said ignoring the part where she just referred to him as an illegitimate child. "The only weapon they won't see coming." She steps closer, close enough for him to catch the scent of her perfume, gunpowder and jasmine. "Our fathers stole our birthrights. The sole reason they betrayed us. We join forces, create our own empire that'll bring down theirs." A beat of silence. Then, Stefan's mouth curves into something sharp. "One condition," he murmurs, closing the distance. "No divorces. No surrenders. If we're doing this, it's for life" "Deal" Mia said without missing a beat. Her father wants to destroy her life. She wouldn't give him the pleasure, she would destroy her life as she seems fit. ................ Two shattered heirs. One deadly vow. A marriage built on revenge. Mia Meyers was born to rule her father's empire (so she thought), until he named his bastard son heir instead. Stefan Sterling knows the sting of betrayal too. His father discarded him like trash. Now the rivals' disgraced children have a poisonous proposal: Marry for vengeance. Crush their fathers' legacies. Never speak of divorce. Whoever cracks first loses everything. Can these two rivals, united by their vengeful hearts, pull off a marriage of convenience to reclaim what they believe is rightfully theirs? Or will their fathers' animosity, and their own complicated pasts tear their fragile alliance apart?
