Tantalizing crimson eyes and a jet black hair is all Lily could remember in the features of the enigmatic young man who saved her ten years ago when she was kidnapped. One day, she accidentally saw him again after ten years in the middle of a busy street in an unexplainable situation. Time froze for few seconds people around her stopped moving and in his snap of finger defreezes time as the car in front of him lose control and crashed with the nearby truck. She was left dazed on what had just happened in front of her The scene shocked her and triggered her memory of him. "The guy who saved me was no human," she murmured staring blankly, remembering their uncanny encounter a decade ago. "Grim reaper?" Confusion was evidently written on her face. He shook his head, "Non I am Doom and I bring death to people." After the street incident she couldn't forget his face and his lines kept replaying in her dreams like a broken tape which made her wonder if this is part of the after effects of her trauma or is it destiny who aligned their stars again to collide.

Chapter 1 One

My dad told me that when my mom was still alive, she used to tell me both untold stories or unusual ones and renowned tales about myths of death and cycles of life even when I was still in her womb.

She greatly influenced my beliefs which piqued the interest of my young curious mind to be fond of reading mysterious hidden tales and mythology.

It was bed time, the cold looming moon shines brightly up at the starry night sky when I decided to spend my long night reading rather than sleeping.

I got up from my bed, heading to our manor's library holding a white long scented candle placed on the gold glass flickering brightly against the dark and a book on the other side which I had finished just 2 days ago.

As I reached my destination, I still can't help but to be amazed and fascinated by the beauty of the interiors of our very own house which was owned and expanded by our ancestors and has been passed down from generation to generation.

I scrunched my nose with the familiar scent of the painted paved archaic walls where the big old portraits were hanged and displayed grandly and the greek doric columns which exhibits minimalistic beauty in simplicity.

Bibliosmia...

The wooden smell coming from the old books mixed with the faint aroma of coffee that surrounds this marvelous room entices me every time and bewitches me to be indulged and unravel the implicit bareness of each wonderfully crafted books up until it's tiniest details.

I returned the book I brought to it's rightful own place and picked a new one to read at the same shelf.

I traced my fingers to the dusty old letters engraved on the hardbound cover.

Mythology...

In general, others referred it as a study and interpretation of often sacred tales or fables of a culture known as myths...

Some basically defines it as the collection of such classical old tales and mythical cultural stories which deal with various aspects of the human condition...

May it be good or evil.

I paused reading as I heard an indistinct rustling sounds in the surroundings of this large dark room.

I roamed my big doe eyes across the dark surroundings yet I can not find anything odd or strange except for the disarrayed arrangement of books on the gigantic shelves.

I just shrugged and continued reading the page where I last off.

It further elaborated that some of such tales give a story behind the meaning of suffering, others may be a conceptual or theoretical various explanations of human origins such as how life was created and how earth was formed.

It expresses the beliefs and values about these subjects held by a certain culture from all around the world.

All in all, there are millions of myths existing from different races and from different countries that tell the stories of ancestors and the origin of humans and the world, the gods, and the supernatural beings.

I read to my heart's content until the drowsiness engulfed me.

...

I never got tired of my daily routine.

Waking up every seven o' clock, heading to my haven, the library, stealing sips on my dad's coffee and imitating his serious posture while reading.

You can say that amidst the silence filling up the whole room, this is one of the best father-daughter bonding moments I had with him.

Being a solo parent after my mom had passed away made him more workaholic than ever. I pursed my cherry lips as I reminisce how rare it is to have moments with him. We seldom talk that much, spending most of our time reading our favoured genre of interest.

I can only catch up with dad every morning, for an hour, if I wake up as early as seven. He will be at the library, reading on the couch and I assumed, maybe also waiting for me? I giggled which made him divert his eyes on me.

"What's funny, sweetheart? Mind to share it with your dad?" He beamed as he taps his lap motioning me to sit.

"Daddy, I missed you! You were always busy," I pouted.

"I'm so sorry my little Lily, you know dad needs to work for your future or else your mom will be angry at daddy. Do you want that?

"I will make it up to you next time, so don't sulk or be mad at me okay? Look, your mouth looks like Pinocchio's nose due to pouting," he gasped as he started to tickle me making me forget my loneliness.

"Okay daddy, is it a promise??" I asked while beaming my eyes.

"I promise," he replied with a genuine smile.

We played tag as I ran across the room enjoying every bit of moments with him not knowing that it would be my best and as well my last time with him.

One cold evening, I can't bring myself to sleep. I have read already three books yet to no avail.

Despite my young age, I'm a fast learner.

I can read well and write already, they say I was a gifted child blessed by the divinities with high level of intelligence even though it was misfortunate of me to lost my mother at such a young age.

I asked my nanny to make me some coffee, my heart was anxious and I don't know why. I miss dad already, I wish he was here to sing me some lullabies or read a story that will calm me to sleep.

I tossed and turned, switched positions on my bed yearning for tranquility but it seems got worse.

"Nanny? Where is my coffee?"

My nanny wearing a grim face did not respond, instead she hugged me and made me change my clothes as if we are going somewhere in a hurry.

"Let's get married," Mia declares, her voice trembling despite her defiant gaze into Stefan's guarded brown eyes. She needs this, even if he seems untouchable. Stefan raises a skeptical brow. "And why would I do that?" His voice was low, like a warning, and it made her shiver even though she tried not to show it. "We both have one thing in common," Mia continues, her gaze unwavering. "Shitty fathers. They want to take what's ours and give it to who they think deserves it." A pointed pause hangs in the air. "The only difference between us is that you're an illegitimate child, and I'm not." Stefan studies her, the heiress in her designer armor, the fire in her eyes that matches the burn of his own rage. "That's your solution? A wedding band as a weapon?" He said ignoring the part where she just referred to him as an illegitimate child. "The only weapon they won't see coming." She steps closer, close enough for him to catch the scent of her perfume, gunpowder and jasmine. "Our fathers stole our birthrights. The sole reason they betrayed us. We join forces, create our own empire that'll bring down theirs." A beat of silence. Then, Stefan's mouth curves into something sharp. "One condition," he murmurs, closing the distance. "No divorces. No surrenders. If we're doing this, it's for life" "Deal" Mia said without missing a beat. Her father wants to destroy her life. She wouldn't give him the pleasure, she would destroy her life as she seems fit. ................ Two shattered heirs. One deadly vow. A marriage built on revenge. Mia Meyers was born to rule her father's empire (so she thought), until he named his bastard son heir instead. Stefan Sterling knows the sting of betrayal too. His father discarded him like trash. Now the rivals' disgraced children have a poisonous proposal: Marry for vengeance. Crush their fathers' legacies. Never speak of divorce. Whoever cracks first loses everything. Can these two rivals, united by their vengeful hearts, pull off a marriage of convenience to reclaim what they believe is rightfully theirs? Or will their fathers' animosity, and their own complicated pasts tear their fragile alliance apart?

I Slapped My Fiancé-Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé. Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now-billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn't mind. I'd crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one? Wrong. One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That's when it hit me-he didn't love me. He didn't even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn't even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup. So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster-my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise. Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Enter him. Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I'd met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes. It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised. But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life. And, as it turned out, the best decision I'd ever made. Because my one-night stand isn't just some random guy. He's richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with. And now, he's not letting me go.
