Four Men Four Different Personalities Bought together in rare twist of fate Will this opportunity will make or break them apart?

The Heirs Chapter 1 The Beginning

She is really tired. She saw how those men burned the small apartment he rented. "If they catch me, they will kill me. I need to find a way to make sure that the contents inside the bag are safe"

'Make sure to remember everything I'll say. Take care of those, no matter what will happen.' She remembered that's the strong request given to her by the old woman while holding her hands firmly.

'But where do I need to bring them? I'm sure that madam will kill me if they find out that I have it.'

'Don't be scared. If you arrived in the Philippines, just go to her directly. Tell her what your purpose of the meeting is and it will be on her.'

The old woman took out a piece of paper in her pocket and gave it to her.

"I need to leave here," the lady said to herself. After a few hours, she arrived at the airport. Fortunately, the old woman fixed everything she needed for her departure. But before she arrived at her destination with her co-passengers, she heard a loud bang in the distance. The whole place went disorderly, the people ran everywhere. When someone suddenly grabbed and pulled her into one of the nearest rooms from where she was standing.

"You?" she was surprised by the person in front of her.

"Don't make a noise if you still want to live," a woman emphatically said while feeling the surrounding.

"You just requested me to do this, yet you also want to kill me?" she said while shivering because of anger.

"Your mouth will be the reason for your death if you won't shut up" the other answered.

After a few minutes, a cell phone rang, "Are you sure that they are gone?" She didn't hear the answer on the other line but saw how the woman keeps on nodding.

"Give me those you're carrying. When we get out of here, I will ask someone to send you to a place reserved for you and your family, you'll stay there until we fix the situation" the woman said to her after ending the call.

"How can I be sure that we will be safe there? How can I be sure that you won't kill us?" she asked with hesitation.

"If I want to kill you, why would I save you if I can just let them kill you and steal the things you're carrying and leave like nothing happened" she answered while one eyebrow is raised.

"Let's go before they think of coming back," the woman said, before going near the door and opening it. She followed her quietly until they went out of the building and arrived at the car that is waiting for them. But, when they closed the door the car exploded.

The old woman almost fainted when watching the news on television that morning while in the living room of their house.

"You can't do anything mother. I already told you that only my children and no one else can inherit the name of this family" smirking Miguel said to his mother, who was currently in a wheelchair.

"Not to a greedy person like you, will fall everything my husband and I worked hard for," the old woman said.

"And to whom? To the illegitimate child of dad? I am your son but why are you favoring that bastard! I am your son here!" his son answered with full of pain.

"Yes, he is indeed a bastard but he is the one who helped your father which you can't. He is with us during the times when the company almost goes bankrupt because of your actions. And now you're asking us why we chose to favor him?"

"I don't care what else you're going to say. What's important now is for you to transfer the name of the company into me," after Miguel said it he stood up and almost went out of the room when his mother spoke.

"Even if I want to give it to you, I can't do nothing."

Miguel faced his mother "What do you mean?"

"The last will of your father stated that only his grandchildren who are deserving can inherit his properties."

Miguel almost answered, when his mother smirked and said.

"Unfortunately those grandchildren will not come from you."

Suddenly his ears tingled, from what he heard and without hesitation, he slapped his mother.

"Shut up!" he said while shivering with anger.

The lady had no trace of fear even though she knew she might be alone there. But she still said while smiling,

"When your brother returns he will set things straight which I should have done before."

Because of the last things he heard, Miguel's vision darkened which caused him to strangle his mother until dead.

I stood at my mother’s open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest’s voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone—he brought Charla with him. He claimed she’d had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.

Six years ago, I was a naive girl sold by my father to the powerful Sanders estate, only to be tossed onto the streets after a brutal assault they labeled "marital infidelity." I fled the country pregnant and broken, hiding from the shadow of a husband I had never even met. Now, I’ve returned to New York with my triplets to sign the final divorce papers and disappear forever. But Archibald Sanders—the man I was told was a crippled recluse—intercepted us with the cold precision of a predator. He didn't see the woman his family destroyed; he saw a gold-digger who had shamed his name. His security team hunted us to a grimy motel, using tactical force to snatch my children away and drag me to his glass-walled empire. In his office, he loomed over me, demanding a DNA test and threatening to throw me in prison while my babies were lost to the foster system. He was convinced I’d cheated, yet he stared at my sons with a haunting confusion, unable to ignore the stormy blue eyes that were a perfect mirror of his own. I stood there, paralyzed by his scent—the sharp tang of rain and expensive leather that triggered the icy dread of my worst nightmares. How could he accuse me of betrayal when he felt exactly like the monster who had shattered my life in that dark hotel room? "I'll sign anything," I sobbed, "just give me my kids." But the game changed when my five-year-old son hacked the tower’s security, holding the skyscraper hostage to save me. In the chaos, a fragile, silent boy—Archibald’s secret son—wandered into the room and reached for me as if I were his missing soul. Archibald’s face turned to stone as he tore up the agreement and locked the doors. "Until I find out why my son is looking at you like that," he growled, "you aren't going anywhere."

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.

I sat on the edge of the examination table, the crinkle of the sanitary paper sounding like thunder in the sterile room. The doctor didn't even look at me as he confirmed the news: the pregnancy was over. My husband, Keyon, didn't answer my call. He just sent an automated text: "In a meeting." When I returned to our cold mansion, I found his iPad glowing with a message from his "muse," Katina. He was throwing her a secret gala tonight-on our third wedding anniversary. He told her he couldn't wait to escape the "boring" and "draining" atmosphere I created at home. Keyon didn't stumble in until 3 AM, smelling of Katina's perfume with a smear of red on his collar. When I handed him the divorce papers, he laughed in my face. He called me a "glorified housekeeper" with no skills and no future, promising I'd be back in three days begging for a subway ticket. He even bet his friends ten thousand dollars that I wouldn't survive a week without his name. He had his assistant cancel my credit cards and block my gate access before I even reached the end of the driveway. He wanted me to starve. He wanted me to crawl. He sat in his office, mocking the "desperate" woman who pawned her three-million-dollar wedding ring for scrap metal just to pay for a meal. I stood on the rainy curb, watching the man I had protected for three years treat my life like trash. He didn't know about the ultrasound I just threw in the bin. He didn't know that while he was calling me "dull," I was the one secretly writing the code that kept his billion-dollar empire from collapsing. As I slid into a cheap Uber, I opened a hidden, encrypted app on my phone. The screen refreshed to a dashboard for an account Keyon didn't know existed. The balance was ten figures long-the accumulated wealth of "Solaris," the world's most elusive tech genius. Keyon thinks he just evicted a parasite, but he's about to find out he just declared war on the only person who can hit "delete" on his entire life.
