Chapter 1 One

......................................

#Lisa's POV

.

(Music playing)

"....Oh yeah!

.......Shut up and dance with me...."

Don't mind my blabbering, I don't really know the song well but I like dancing to it.

Dancing is in my blood, I can dance for Europe.

Am Monalisa Freed anyway, and the best description of myself is 'the no nonsense girl'. Trust me, you don't want to mess with me. Am a Burnett, average height, very beautiful and American.

My phone rang and I checked the ID and its none other than my childhood friend Heather.

"Sup bitch"

"Hey idiot, where the hell are you?!" She yelled from the other side.

"Am in the restroom"

"You're dancing there again you crazy girl, get your ass up here right now. The bosses are asking for coffee and am really busy here"

"Am on my way" I said and hung up.

You're wondering what my job is, well am the coffee girl and general messenger in this music company STARZ MUSIC COMPANY, owned by some Koreans.

Mind you, am not a fan of Asians especially Koreans. I just don't like them, no hard feelings.

•••••••••••••••

Am seated at my desk arranging some files for the bosses, after this am gonna go home and have my beauty nap so I can go for my evening job. You will find out later.

"Hey Crazy"

"Heather" I called happy, "am so glad you're here"

"Don't be cos am leaving now, we will see at home so..."

"C'mon baby... You know I love you so much right. Help me out this once and I won't ask you again I promise" I begged making a baby face. Yeah I know am a liar, i will always need her help.

She sighed " Alright, but just today"

"Yay! Thanks a lot sweetie"

"Not bitch anymore, whatever"

I always call her sweet names whenever I need her help. Just help me out so I can leave this damn office.

If only I had the chance to go to college, maybe I would get a big job, a car and the good life by now or had connection to help my dancing career.

(Later in the evening at CARLEY'S CLUB)

.

I am here for my second job as always.

I am dressed in a short armless dress, my hair styled in wavy curls. I would soon be called.

I dance in this club every night, I am like a star here. The crowd love me but I always keep my identity hidden to avoid any form if scandals or problems.

I have this cat mask that covers my eyes, its old but still very beautiful. It was given to my mother who is a Puerto Rican by her mother who is also my grandmother.

I guess I inherited my talent from them.

The stage lights are off, I guess it's time for me to dance. The crowd are already cheering for me, here I come.

The curtains opened and a pop music was playing and I started dancing. The boys are going crazy as I move from left to right, trust me I have a great body physique.

I move to a guy in the crowd and draw him up, he seems to be good dancer too.

We danced and danced till the music ended. I bowed and left.

I quickly changed, straightened my hair and rush home to the two bedroom apartment Heather and I shared.

I met her watching a movie on the couch, she turned on hearing me come in.

"Hey, how'd it go?" She asked.

"Great as usual, the crowd were crazy about me"

"Good, your dinner is in the kitchen" she turned back to the movie.

I sighed and went to the kitchen, took dinner and went to my room. Am so tired, I took my bath and retired to bed.

Tomorrow is another long day.

#Lee's POV

...........................

My phone rang interrupting my nap.

It's my manager, what's the rush. My concert is in three hours.

"Yes" I said.

"Lee where are you?"

"Home"

"Home?!" He yelled and I covered my ears, gosh he's so loud.

"You have a concert today. You should practice and also prepare for your other concert in L.A next week. The record company also called to inform you of the deal with Starz music company in L.A. Also Haven Fashion house also called for the deal with their fashion line..."

He ranted on and I sighed. I got up and entered my kingsize bathroom and had my tub. Then I selected a good cloth, I rung my bell and everyone rushed in.

One held my shoes, my hairstylist, and maids with food and drinks.

"Am not hungry" I told the maids and they bowed and left.

My phone rang again and its Mara, the governor's daughter. Mara just came back from Europe and has been on my neck since.

She is really beautiful with her dyed blonde hair, but the truth is I want nothing to do with her. Her father is a really nice man, he's the reason I still talk with her.

We dated in the past, when I wasn't a star yet and it never worked out. She always had complains so one day she broke up with me herself. I don't know why she's disturbing me now.

I cut the call and continued my dressing.

•••••••••••••••••••••••

The concert is over, I can finally have a good night rest.

I entered my mansion after alighting from my limo and met someone seated in the living room couch.

Its her

Mara.

She got up and quickly hugged me.

"Oh Lee! How are you doing?"

"Mara...what are you doing here?" I asked instead.

"I just came to say hi, or don't you like my presence?"

"No its okay"

"Your concert was a hit"

"Thanks"

"Can I invite you somewhere?"

"Not today Mara please"

"Sure any day you want"

"I will call you when I'm free" I said. I just want her to leave so I can have peace of mind.

"Okay... I'll be going now, Sarangyeo"

"Yeah bye" she pecked me and left.

I quickly rushed upstairs and had an hour bath, I just don't want anything that will make me think of her.

I jumped off to bed and drifted to dreamland. Mara is my past and I want nothing to do with her at all.....

"Let's get married," Mia declares, her voice trembling despite her defiant gaze into Stefan's guarded brown eyes. She needs this, even if he seems untouchable. Stefan raises a skeptical brow. "And why would I do that?" His voice was low, like a warning, and it made her shiver even though she tried not to show it. "We both have one thing in common," Mia continues, her gaze unwavering. "Shitty fathers. They want to take what's ours and give it to who they think deserves it." A pointed pause hangs in the air. "The only difference between us is that you're an illegitimate child, and I'm not." Stefan studies her, the heiress in her designer armor, the fire in her eyes that matches the burn of his own rage. "That's your solution? A wedding band as a weapon?" He said ignoring the part where she just referred to him as an illegitimate child. "The only weapon they won't see coming." She steps closer, close enough for him to catch the scent of her perfume, gunpowder and jasmine. "Our fathers stole our birthrights. The sole reason they betrayed us. We join forces, create our own empire that'll bring down theirs." A beat of silence. Then, Stefan's mouth curves into something sharp. "One condition," he murmurs, closing the distance. "No divorces. No surrenders. If we're doing this, it's for life" "Deal" Mia said without missing a beat. Her father wants to destroy her life. She wouldn't give him the pleasure, she would destroy her life as she seems fit. ................ Two shattered heirs. One deadly vow. A marriage built on revenge. Mia Meyers was born to rule her father's empire (so she thought), until he named his bastard son heir instead. Stefan Sterling knows the sting of betrayal too. His father discarded him like trash. Now the rivals' disgraced children have a poisonous proposal: Marry for vengeance. Crush their fathers' legacies. Never speak of divorce. Whoever cracks first loses everything. Can these two rivals, united by their vengeful hearts, pull off a marriage of convenience to reclaim what they believe is rightfully theirs? Or will their fathers' animosity, and their own complicated pasts tear their fragile alliance apart?

I watched my husband sign the papers that would end our marriage while he was busy texting the woman he actually loved. He didn't even glance at the header. He just scribbled the sharp, jagged signature that had signed death warrants for half of New York, tossed the file onto the passenger seat, and tapped his screen again. "Done," he said, his voice devoid of emotion. That was Dante Moretti. The Underboss. A man who could smell a lie from a mile away but couldn't see that his wife had just handed him an annulment decree disguised beneath a stack of mundane logistics reports. For three years, I scrubbed his blood out of his shirts. I saved his family's alliance when his ex, Sofia, ran off with a civilian. In return, he treated me like furniture. He left me in the rain to save Sofia from a broken nail. He left me alone on my birthday to drink champagne on a yacht with her. He even handed me a glass of whiskey—her favorite drink—forgetting that I despised the taste. I was merely a placeholder. A ghost in my own home. So, I stopped waiting. I burned our wedding portrait in the fireplace, left my platinum ring in the ashes, and boarded a one-way flight to San Francisco. I thought I was finally free. I thought I had escaped the cage. But I underestimated Dante. When he finally opened that file weeks later and realized he had signed away his wife without looking, the Reaper didn't accept defeat. He burned down the world to find me, obsessed with reclaiming the woman he had already thrown away.
