«They are different but love makes them the same» She was immortal. He was mortal. She came from the ocean. He came from the land. She wanted to escape by coming to the land. Chapter 1 Prologue

He was drowning himself in the liquor on his hand. He could not continue his life like this. He was tired.

"Die" the voice whispered to him. The monsters within him were talking to him. The voice was clouding his thoughts.

"You are useless" he heard her mother's voice.

What was his purpose of living, when his mother despised him?

When he never knew what was love and kindness.

Death would be the only solution.

He drowned himself more, feeling himself lightheaded.

He walked wobbly on his heavy legs, giggling how his legs were intertwining together while singing some tunes.

I'm drowning to myself

«I'm drowning to myself

I don't want what they say affects me

But, I swear it is already having effects of me.

I do not know

I'm fighting it but

I'm losing it

I'm masking it

But it's hurting me

I'm drowning myself

Drowning

Fading

Crying

Screaming

Dying

But not no longer, Wishing

Hoping

Dreaming

Because I just want to escape»

He threw the liquor bottle away and walked towards the ocean to end the pain. To forget everything. To escape the taunting memories.

He walked further inside the ocean, when he got to the middle, he put his head inside it and closes his eyes, waiting for death.

And he was finally drowning

He was finally free

He was finally escaping

He was finally leaving this world

He finally felt peace.

Meanwhile in the ocean, she saw him drowning and came to his rescue forgetting she was breaking the rule.

I watched my husband sign the papers that would end our marriage while he was busy texting the woman he actually loved. He didn't even glance at the header. He just scribbled the sharp, jagged signature that had signed death warrants for half of New York, tossed the file onto the passenger seat, and tapped his screen again. "Done," he said, his voice devoid of emotion. That was Dante Moretti. The Underboss. A man who could smell a lie from a mile away but couldn't see that his wife had just handed him an annulment decree disguised beneath a stack of mundane logistics reports. For three years, I scrubbed his blood out of his shirts. I saved his family's alliance when his ex, Sofia, ran off with a civilian. In return, he treated me like furniture. He left me in the rain to save Sofia from a broken nail. He left me alone on my birthday to drink champagne on a yacht with her. He even handed me a glass of whiskey—her favorite drink—forgetting that I despised the taste. I was merely a placeholder. A ghost in my own home. So, I stopped waiting. I burned our wedding portrait in the fireplace, left my platinum ring in the ashes, and boarded a one-way flight to San Francisco. I thought I was finally free. I thought I had escaped the cage. But I underestimated Dante. When he finally opened that file weeks later and realized he had signed away his wife without looking, the Reaper didn't accept defeat. He burned down the world to find me, obsessed with reclaiming the woman he had already thrown away.
