FILTHY LITTLE ASSISTANT Chapter 1 The Wrong Door

Italy was beautiful. Like, stupid beautiful. The kind you see in movies and think can't be real, but here I was, walking down actual stone streets with designer shops everywhere and people who looked like they'd never had a bad hair day in their lives.

And then there was me.

My suitcase had a broken wheel that made noise with every step, my blouse was wrinkled from the plane, and my feet already hurt in these cheap shoes. I was just some girl from Texas who probably shouldn't be here.

But I needed this job.

The PA position seemed too good to be true when I found it online. Good pay, free room and board, a fresh start where nobody knew me. The description was kind of vague, just said "personal assistant to a prominent Italian businessman," but I wasn't in a position to be picky. I sent my resume and somehow they actually flew me out for an interview.

The address led me to this massive villa that made my stomach drop. This wasn't just a house. It was huge ,three stories with old stone walls covered in ivy and these big windows that looked almost black. The iron gates were already open, like they were waiting for me.

I checked my phone for the fifth time. This was definitely the place.

My heart was racing as I walked up the gravel drive. Each step felt like a mistake. I was going to be late. I was already out of place. This whole thing was going to fall apart before it even started, and I'd be back in Texas, back to nothing, back to proving everyone right who said I'd never make it on my own.

The front door was huge, made of dark wood with fancy carvings all over it. Before I could even knock, it opened.

A security guard stood there, and honestly, I forgot how to speak for a second. He was tall, like really tall, with broad shoulders that looked perfectly well with his suit. The goatee, the way his eyes traveled down my body slowly... damn. Even the security here was hot as hell.

"I'm here for the interview," I managed, my Texas accent suddenly feeling twice as thick. "I'm sorry, I know I'm cutting it close, I just"

They're expecting you." His voice was smooth, unimpressed. He stepped aside, gesturing for me to enter. "I'll take your bag."

He grabbed my suitcase before I could protest.

The inside made me feel even worse about myself. Everything looked expensive, old paintings, marble floors. It smelled like leather and money. The furniture looked like museum pieces.

The security guard led me through a corridor, then stopped. "Upstairs. Someone will meet you in the waiting room."

He left me at the base of a staircase.

I climbed, my cheap shoes clicking against marble, and found myself in a hallway with two identical doors. Both were dark wood, both were closed. Neither had any indication of which was the waiting room.

My phone had no signal. The hallway was empty. I was scared walking through the hallway.

I stood there, my hands shaking. This was already going wrong. Panic was creeping up my throat. I should have asked which door. I was probably picking the wrong one. They were probably watching me on cameras right now, judging me. My heart was pounding so hard I could hear it in my ears. I didn't belong here. Everyone was going to see that the second I opened my mouth.

The door on the left looked a little less scary, so I picked that one.

The room was huge, way bigger than my whole apartment back home. Big windows, a massive bed with dark sheets. Everything looked expensive and masculine..

And standing in the middle of it, fresh from a shower with water still dripping down his skin, was a man.

Completely naked.

My brain stopped working.

He was tall, like really tall, with the kind of body that made my mouth go dry. Broad shoulders, muscular chest, abs that looked carved. His dark hair was wet and slicked back, and water was sliding down his body in a way that made me want to trace it with my tongue. Down his chest, over those abs, lower and lower until-

Oh God.

He was huge. Like, really big. Thick and long in a way that made my pussy clench just looking at it. I couldn't stop staring. Heat flooded between my legs instantly, I was getting wet, actually wet, just from seeing him naked. My nipples went hard against my bra, my breathing turned shallow, and this ache started building low in my belly.

I wanted to drop to my knees right there. I wanted to wrap my hands around him, take him in my mouth, feel him get even harder on my tongue. The thought made me bite back a moan.

This man could absolutely wreck me, and God, I wanted him to.

Oh God.

Heat spread through my whole body. A sound escaped my throat, half gasp, half moan, and I couldn't stop it.

My mind went straight to the filthiest places. On my knees with his dick in my mouth. Him grabbing my hair, forcing himself deeper. That voice telling me to swallow every inch.

"I'm so sorry!" The words burst out too loud, too panicked. I spun toward the door, my face burning hot enough to catch fire. "I'm lost, I didn't mean to,I shouldn't have"

"Stop."

One word. Low, authoritative, accented.

My feet stopped. I couldn't move. Something about his voice just made my body obey automatically.

"Where do you think you're going, lady?"

His footsteps got closer. Slow. My heart was pounding. I stared at the door handle but I couldn't make myself grab it.

"Turn around."

I turned before I even thought about it. I just did it.

He still hadn't covered himself. Just stood there, arms crossed, looking at me with these dark eyes. He looked amused, but there was something dangerous there too..

"You must be the new girl." His accent was thick, Italian. "The one they hired for the PA position."

My mouth opened but nothing came out. I had no idea what to say.

He smiled. It wasn't a nice smile.

"Welcome to the Marchetti estate."

I was four months pregnant, weighing over two hundred pounds, and my heart was failing from experimental treatments forced on me as a child. My doctor looked at me with clinical detachment and told me I was in a death sentence: if I kept the baby, I would die, and if I tried to remove it, I would die. Desperate for a lifeline, I called my father, Francis Acosta, to tell him I was sick and pregnant. I expected a father's love, but all I got was a cold, sharp blade of a voice. "Then do it quietly," he said. "Don't embarrass Candi. Her debutante ball is coming up." He didn't just reject me; he erased me. My trust fund was frozen, and I was told I was no longer an Acosta. My fiancé, Auston, had already discarded me, calling me a "bloated whale" while he looked for a thinner, wealthier replacement. I left New York on a Greyhound bus, weeping into a bag of chips, a broken woman the world considered a mistake. I couldn't understand how my own father could tell me to die "quietly" just to save face for a party. I didn't know why I had been a lab rat for my family’s pharmaceutical ambitions, or how they could sleep at night while I was left to rot in the gray drizzle of the city. Five years later, the doors of JFK International Airport slid open. I stepped onto the marble floor in red-soled stilettos, my body lean, lethal, and carved from years of blood and sweat. I wasn't the "whale" anymore; I was a ghost coming back to haunt them. With my daughter by my side and a medical reputation that terrified the global elite, I was ready to dismantle the Acosta empire piece by piece. "Tell Francis to wash his neck," I whispered to the skyline. "I'm home."

I stood at my mother’s open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest’s voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone—he brought Charla with him. He claimed she’d had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.

The Pierre Hotel smelled of old money and stale ambition, but all I could taste was the copper of my own rage. I stood in the back of the ballroom, a "mute" shadow in a silk dress, watching my sister Brande play the grieving saint on stage. She wiped away a fake tear, telling the crowd I was too "unstable" to attend my own engagement party. In reality, I was watching her share a secret, intimate squeeze with my fiancé, Chase Sterling, right under the blinding spotlight. When I finally hit "execute" and projected the video of them together in a hotel suite for the entire elite crowd to see, the room went cold. But the nightmare was just beginning. Instead of apologizing, my father crushed his scotch glass and told me to fix the mess. He demanded I issue a public statement claiming I had a mental breakdown and "hallucinated" the whole thing. "If you don't corroborate the Deepfake story, I'll have you committed to a facility with barred windows," he hissed. Brande just smirked from the corner, mocking me for being a "mute waste of space" who didn't even realize my own trust fund had paid for the diamonds around her neck. I realized then that in this family, silence wasn't a disability—it was a target. They thought because I didn't speak, I didn't have a voice. They thought they could use my silence to bury the truth and save their precious stock prices. They were wrong. I didn't just leak a video; I had the keys to every secret they ever tried to hide. I walked out of that hotel and straight into the black sedan of Julian Curtis, my father’s most ruthless rival and the only man who knew what really happened the night of the blizzard in Aspen. I handed him the encrypted files that would trigger a hostile takeover of my family’s empire. As the city blurred past, I looked at the man who held my future in his hands and typed one final message on my phone. "I'm not here to be saved. I'm here to be the knife."
