My Suppressed Alpha Mate Chapter 1 The threatened Alpha

Prologue

The night sky burned red with fire and smoke, echoing with the sounds of chaos. War had reached the gates of the Alpha estate. Shouts of soldiers and snarls of wolves mixed with the thunder of magic and steel. Kael, barely five years old, clung to his father, his small body trembling, eyes wide with terror.

"Kael... listen carefully," his father, Lucas whispered, his voice steady but heavy with desperation. He pressed a small vial into the boy's hands. "This... this will suppress your powers. It will keep you alive. You must take it now, Do you understand?"

Kael nodded silently, too afraid to speak, watching as the enemy crashed through their home, seeking his rare Alpha blood. Damian Beta, loomed nearby, teeth bared and eyes sharp.

"Protect the prince at all costs," lucas commanded, his gaze locking with Damian's. "No matter what happens, Kael must survive. Do you hear me?"

His growl rumbled low in his chest. "I swear it, Alpha. He will survive, I will make sure of it."

Elsewhere, the human scientist Evan ran through the forest, clutching the woman he loved, Lyra, a Luna who had given her life to protect their unborn child. Lyra's breaths were shallow, pain etched across her face. "Go... go now," she gasped. Evan stumbled but obeyed, cradling her as best he could. Moments later, Lyra gave birth to a daughter, her last act one of pure love. Her life faded in his arms, leaving Evan to flee alone with the child.

Years Later

The room smelled of medicine and the sterile tang of fear. Evan lay on a sickbed, frail and coughing, his hands trembling as he placed a small, ornate box into his daughter Aria's hands.

"Aria... listen to me carefully," he whispered, voice weak but urgent. "Inside this box... is your inheritance. It is your gift... and your protection. Promise me you will guard it with your life. Promise me..."

Tears welled in her eyes as she nodded. "I promise, Father."

With a final, shuddering breath, Evan's hand went limp. The antidote, the very key that could awaken Kael and restore his Alpha powers, was now in the hands of a girl who had no idea of her destiny, no idea of the bond she would one day share with the Alpha she was meant to call her mate.

Outside, the wind whispered through the trees, carrying with it a warning, a secret, and the beginning of a story that neither Kael nor Aria could yet comprehend.

CHAPTER ONE : The Threatened Alpha

The pack council were already seated around the long stone table when Kael arrived.

As the Alpha of the Black Moon Pack, his presence should have silenced the room instantly. Instead, the atmosphere remained tense, thick with unspoken doubt. Kael took his seat at the head of the table, his posture straight, his expression calm, though his senses told him exactly how the room felt.

Unstable. Expectant. Dangerous.

Blue torches burned along the stone walls, their flames flickering like restless spirits. The faces around the table, betas, elders, commanders, were familiar, yet distant. These were wolves who had once sworn loyalty to his bloodline. Now, they questioned his worth.

His uncle, Ronan Blackclaw, sat beside him, arms folded, jaw tight.

"The pack is growing impatient," Ronan finally said, breaking the silence. "Our borders are being tested. Rival packs sense weakness."

Kael remained silent, his fingers curling slightly against the armrest.

"An Alpha must be strong," Ronan continued. "An Alpha must be able to shift. Must be able to fight."

A low murmur rippled across the table.

"You carry the Alpha blood," Ronan said, his voice lowering, "but without your wolf, the pack sees you as incomplete."

The word stung more than Kael expected.

A chair scraped against the stone floor.

Darius Stormveil rose to his feet, his sharp gaze locked onto Kael. As one of the senior betas, his voice carried weight, and he knew it.

"With all due respect," Darius said, "we have waited long enough. Three years of excuses. Three years of uncertainty."

Kael lifted his eyes to meet his gaze.

"We need a leader who can protect us," Darius continued. "Not a symbol. Not a boy wearing a crown without claws."

The words landed like a blow.

Around the table, several council members nodded. Others avoided Kael's gaze altogether.

"If Kael cannot regain his powers," Darius finished, "then he should step down."

Silence followed, heavy, suffocating.

Ronan stood abruptly, his chair slamming backward. "Enough."

His voice echoed through the chamber.

"Kael was a child when his powers were suppressed," Ronan snapped. "A child whose life was in danger. He did not choose this fate."

"That may be true," an elder said carefully, "but the pack cannot afford a powerless Alpha."

Ronan turned to Kael, his expression hardening with responsibility rather than anger.

"Kael," he said, "you have three months."

The words settled like a sentence.

"Three months to find the antidote. Three months to reclaim your powers." Ronan paused. "Fail-and you lose the throne."

Kael nodded once.

No arguments. No excuses.

The council was dismissed shortly after, the members rising and dispersing in hushed conversations. Kael remained seated for a moment longer, staring at the empty space before him.

Three months.

If he failed, the Black Moon Pack would no longer be his.

Kael had barely stepped into his room when instinct screamed a warning.

He moved just as a sharp object came flying toward him.

The blade struck the wall behind him with a loud thud.

Kael turned sharply, fury flashing in his eyes.

Riven lounged against a chair, laughter spilling from his lips.

"Oops," Riven said mockingly. "The king is angry."

"Not for long," Kael replied coolly.

Riven's grin faltered. "What do you mean?"

Kael walked further into the room. "The pack is losing patience. They want me to find the antidote and regain my powers." His voice hardened. "Your father suggested I step down."

The humor vanished from Riven's face.

He stood and walked toward the window, staring out at the dark glow of Noxvaris beneath them. They had been friends since childhood-long before politics and power had divided the pack.

Kael studied his back carefully.

"I'm not my father," Riven said quietly, without turning.

"I know," Kael replied. At least, he hoped so.

Riven turned suddenly. "There's something else," he said. "Mating."

Kael frowned. "What?"

"Mating could restore your powers," Riven said. "The bond can awaken suppressed abilities. Not just antidotes."

Kael scoffed bitterly. "I've searched for my mate. Everywhere. There's nothing." His voice dropped. "No pull. No bond. Nothing."

Riven burst into laughter. "Relax, mate. If you're alone, then I'll stay with you."

He stepped closer and reached for Kael's shoulder.

Kael shoved him away. "Touch me again and I'll throw you out."

Riven laughed, raising his hands. "Worth a try."

Kael exhaled sharply. "My uncle gave me three months."

Riven's expression turned serious. "Then we don't waste time."

He snapped his fingers. "We'll be leaving Noxvaris for the mortal realm soon anyway. Andrew invited us to his birthday party."

Kael sighed. "I guess I'll attend."

He looked at Riven. "Pack everything. We won't be returning anytime soon."

Riven nodded and left.

Kael sat on the edge of his bed, the silence pressing in.

Yes, he was Alpha, but his past had made him vulnerable.

He didn't blame his father. The suppressants had saved his life.

But Kael clenched his fists.

He would not lose his throne.

No matter what it took.

I was four months pregnant, weighing over two hundred pounds, and my heart was failing from experimental treatments forced on me as a child. My doctor looked at me with clinical detachment and told me I was in a death sentence: if I kept the baby, I would die, and if I tried to remove it, I would die. Desperate for a lifeline, I called my father, Francis Acosta, to tell him I was sick and pregnant. I expected a father's love, but all I got was a cold, sharp blade of a voice. "Then do it quietly," he said. "Don't embarrass Candi. Her debutante ball is coming up." He didn't just reject me; he erased me. My trust fund was frozen, and I was told I was no longer an Acosta. My fiancé, Auston, had already discarded me, calling me a "bloated whale" while he looked for a thinner, wealthier replacement. I left New York on a Greyhound bus, weeping into a bag of chips, a broken woman the world considered a mistake. I couldn't understand how my own father could tell me to die "quietly" just to save face for a party. I didn't know why I had been a lab rat for my family’s pharmaceutical ambitions, or how they could sleep at night while I was left to rot in the gray drizzle of the city. Five years later, the doors of JFK International Airport slid open. I stepped onto the marble floor in red-soled stilettos, my body lean, lethal, and carved from years of blood and sweat. I wasn't the "whale" anymore; I was a ghost coming back to haunt them. With my daughter by my side and a medical reputation that terrified the global elite, I was ready to dismantle the Acosta empire piece by piece. "Tell Francis to wash his neck," I whispered to the skyline. "I'm home."

Rain hammered against the asphalt as my sedan spun violently into the guardrail on the I-95. Blood trickled down my temple, stinging my eyes, while the rhythmic slap of the windshield wipers mocked my panic. Trembling, I dialed my husband, Clive. His executive assistant answered instead, his voice professional and utterly cold. "Mr. Wilson says to stop the theatrics. He said, and I quote, 'Hang up. Tell her I don’t have time for her emotional blackmail tonight.'" The line went dead while I was still trapped in the wreckage. At the hospital, I watched the news footage of Clive wrapping his jacket around his "fragile" ex-girlfriend, Angelena, shielding her from the storm I was currently bleeding in. When I returned to our penthouse, I found a prenatal ultrasound in his suit pocket, dated the day he claimed to be on a business trip. Instead of an apology, Clive met me with a sneer. He told me I was nothing but an "expensive decoration" his father bought to make him look stable. He froze my bank accounts and cut off my cards, waiting for the hunger to drive me back to his feet. I stared at the man I had loved for four years, realizing he didn't just want a wife; he wanted a prop he could switch off. He thought he could starve me into submission while he played father to another woman's child. But Clive forgot one thing. Before I was his trophy wife, I was Starfall—the legendary voice actress who vanished at the height of her fame. "I'm not jealous, Clive. I'm done." I grabbed my old microphone and walked out. I’m not just leaving him; I’m taking the lead role in the biggest saga in Hollywood—the one Angelena is desperate for. This time, the "decoration" is going to burn his world down.

The heavy iron gates of the Wilderness Correction Camp groaned as they released me after three years of state-sponsored hell. I stood on the dirt road, clutching a plastic bag that held my entire life, waiting for the family that claimed they sent me there for "rehab." My brother, Brady, picked me up in a luxury SUV only to throw me out onto a deserted highway in the middle of a brewing storm. He told me I was a "public relations nightmare" and that the rain might finally wash the "stink" of the camp off me. He drove away, leaving me to limp miles through the mud on a snapped ankle. When I finally dragged myself to our family estate, my mother didn't offer a hug; she gasped in horror because my muddy clothes were ruining her Italian marble. They didn't give me my old room back. Instead, they banished me to a moldy gardener’s shack and hired a "babysitter" to make sure I didn't embarrass them further. My sister, Kaleigh, stood there in white cashmere, pretending to cry while clinging to her fiancé, Ambrose—the man who had once been mine. They all treated me like a volatile junkie, refusing to acknowledge that Kaleigh was the one who planted the drugs in my bag three years ago. They wanted to believe I was broken so they wouldn't have to feel guilty about the "wellness retreat" that was actually a torture chamber. I sat in the dark of that shed, feeling the cooling gel on the cigarette burns that covered my arms, and realized they had made a fatal mistake. They thought they had erased me, but I had returned with a roadmap of scars and a hidden satellite phone. At dinner, I didn't beg for their love. I simply rolled up my sleeves and showed them the price of their silence. As the wine spilled and the lies crumbled, I sent a single text to the only person I trusted: "I'm in. Let them simmer." The hunt was finally on.
