was it? What had happened? My curiosity was naturally at its peak, but I didn't say a word. It was not my business, after all. Whoever had gotten injured probably fell down

nters of my age in my community. Usually, finding signs of a vampire near a place was as easy as breathing for me. Or at least, it used to be. Because despite everything, I had been unable to see the signs in time. I shut the door of my dorm room, noting with some sort of annoyance, that Alyssa was back in the room, and fast asleep. Her loud snores reverberated through the room, making the normally quiet and peaceful ambience to be filled the noise. I rolled my eyes, before walking over to the bathroom. I needed to have a shower. But as I began to undress, I was aware of the roiling emotions that manifested as uneasiness in my stomach. A vampire was in town, and I needed to find the bastard and kill him now. I knew what vampires were like. I had learned about them before I even started to kill them. Vampires were a driving force with only one motivation, and that was blood. Wherever they went, there would surely be carnage to follow. They couldn't help themselves - it was as if destruction came in their wake. And to top it all off, vampires were usually never alone. They lived in clans, and hunted as a group. I didn't know whether or not this vampire was alone in attacking the girl in my dorm, but I knew that there would surely be more vampires to follow if I didn't put a stop to this. I took a cold shower, and as the water rained down over my head, drizzling down my body to my feet, I could only berate myself for not knowing. Had I noticed that a vampire was near, then maybe this girl wouldn't have died. I would have rid the world of another vampire and saved the town from the untold destruction that could be caused. I swallowed, my breaths coming out heavily as I found it
