I take a deep breath as I lean forward to get a better look at the documents that lay before me. The office is cast in a black shadow, the only light coming from the lamp that sits on my black oak wood desk.
"Maybe turn on the light so you can see better." My second in command, Amandor says with a smirk. Amandor is not only my second but he is also my best friend so he can get away with dumbass comments.
I roll my eyes and continue looking over the documents without addressing his smart-ass remark. I can see perfectly fine. The dark has never been a problem for me, it's people that bothers me. "We are missing the underground maps." I finally said after a while.
"Don Mateo has them. He said he will give them to you after you take out the Third Familia." Armandor explains.
"How the fuck are we supposed to do that without the map? He's fucking with me Arman." I say with irritation.
I have been working with Don Mateo for three years and it's always the same shit with him. "I want their blood, Arman." I grit through my teeth.
"I know, Cal. Be patient." He says as if attempting to calm me.
"I've been patient!" My voice thunders through the room as my fist lands hard on top of my desk.
Armandor doesn't even flinch at my outburst. He takes a deep breath before responding. "We will get them, I promise."
"It's been five years, Arman. I want justice." I wasn't always a bloodthirsty criminal. In fact, I was the opposite. My father was the criminal while I was LAPD's finest. But now, I will climb my way to the top of the Underground world, body by body even if it costs me my soul.
"I trust Mateo." Armandor says. And that's all he has to say for me to relax my shoulders and sit back down in my chair. "We are in this together. She was my sister, and I want revenge too, but we need to do this right."
"So how do we do this without the Map to the tunnels?" I ask.
Who needs tunnels when you are invisible." Armandor says with a smile.
