Lucas' Mother hated white.
She said it was a fragile colour, annoyingly delicate and pure, nothing like what she was. She preferred black, so he put onblack for her, ignoring the colour code on the funeral invitation card which read ‘white attire only’.
Lucas' mother had no family members or friends ,no one to shed trickles of tears on account of her demise, A crowd of people came to sympathize with George,All were a bunch of two-faced ass kissers who came to show off their expensive white dressesand suits, drink fine wine and render assistance to the most eligible widower in town. This was why Lucas had no friends in particular. Anyone would give anything to be him, he had a nice car, lived in a big house, went on lush vacations, his step dad was the Mayor of the city indeed,Lucas had it all or so they thought.
After the funeral, Lucas went to his room, threw himself on the bed and started to cry. Reminiscing on his Mother’s last words
‘‘if he touches you again’’.
Then George walked into Lucas' room, sat on the bed, and heldhim lovingly like he were a piece of tempered glass. His fingersstarted to unbuckle Lucas' belt, freely gliding down Lucas'thighs just like they had done on a thousand and one occasionsincluding the day Lucas' mother died.
He had gone to visit her , She took a long look at him from herhospital bed and knew what had happened. she recognized thelook he had, it was the same look she had when she wasyounger. It was all too familiar.
Weakly she asked who it was. Lucas told her.
He told her everything, how it all started when he was five.
I swear I heard something crack open in her chest.
She breathed deeply and screamed ‘‘if George touches you one more time’’!
Then the electrocardiogram started to beep furiously. She drewthree large breaths and died at the forth. Lucas knew his mother did not die due to end stage breast cancer that had furiouslynibbled on her insides leaving her as unrecognisable as a bag ofbones covered with stretched skin. She died from a broken heart.
Lucas had become nicer to his mother when she was diagnosed with cancer.
He had hated her all his life for marrying this sick man, he never really got to know her, where she came from and who his father was.Amanda his mother had a troubled life and was a product of foster care, because her parents did not want her, her mom abandoned her in the bathroom of a super mart somewhere in conneticuit when she was four.
She could remember her mother's last words "wait here sweetie, i'll be right back..."
She never saw her Mother again.
