Spain 1994
'Son, why don't we have some rabo-de-toro soup' he said grinning, they have just walked some few distances away from the spa room, they were chatting and walking slowly, he had been staring at those who was hanging at every corner of the building in the street, he smirked at them, they had been hunting in the street, for innocent prey, piercing their neck smoochy and sucking their esophagus.
'Dad, I thought you said you don't like it,' He stared at him curiously.
'Yea, just feel like taking some in my gullet tonight,' he held his hand and lead the way in, 'shall we'?
They enter into a restaurant, occupied with four chairs on each table, the aroma of the soup filled the air as an old lady approached them with two bowls of soup in a tray. 'Do enjoy your meal,' she smiled at the boy, 'Alright' The restaurant is so scanty, just two of them and a lady sitting beside the window. Occasionally, she would take a few glimpses of father and son enjoying the hotness of the soup. 'Isn't it amazing,' The boy exhaled.
'Of course, it is,' he battled with the beef. He gulped down a shot of Anis gin, brought out a necklace and hand it over to his son. 'What for,' asked his son surprisingly, 'I couldn't afford to get you a gift for your tenth birthday, why don't….'
The boy cut 'No dad, didn't you get mom this as a Christmas gift',
'No, it's for you, you might need it in the future,' he said smiling
'The truth lies in this locket' he whispered
'That's more of a fantasy, dad', He smirked and gulp his bowl of soup.
'Is it, yea, for now, I will have this given to tiana instead' he nodded softly
'Alright I will have it,' he stretch his hand to him reluctantly 'We have got to go now, boy' They saunter through the direction to their house, the cool breeze whooshed, the bird keep their voice low as they walk slowly on the stairs.
He pat his shoulder continuously
'You know, sometimes son, as a man, you have to stand any circumstances that comes your way. When you can't handle it, you take a race, if there isn't room for the race, then let it have you' he said beaming.
'Why should I let it have me?'
'So you won't ruin in lost'
'Yea, I understand' he nodded continuously.
'No, you don't'
'but you will later'
There was a car hooting, which blink its flashed light from afar. He could recognize it vividly. He bent to his boy's height.
'Izan, you have to go in now'
'Aren't we together', he asked curiously.
'I have to get your mom something'
'Then let go together, dad'
'No, it is late, I have got to go alone, take this'
