The Alpha and His Omega

It was dark, and I couldn’t see my surroundings. Then, there was unbearable pain in my chest. I threw up blood but suddenly tasted different blood in my mouth for a few seconds. It was sweet. 

“Drink my blood! Hurry!”

The voice! It was a familiar voice, but I couldn’t remember whose voice it was. Who could it be?

“Open your mouth and drink my blood, please. Victoria, hurry!”

Victoria? Who was it?  

“I don’t think I can survive any longer. My time has come ….”

“What are you talking about? First, you will give birth to our baby. Then I will marry you.”

Suddenly, my eyes were wet, and I cried. But, though the hurt in my chest was tremendous, happiness filled my heart.

“Being able in your arms again, I have no regrets. Kiss me for the last time, Constantine. I-I l-love y-you ….” 

Then it was dark. “Constantine!” I shouted. 

“Anna! Anna!” My body was shaken softly. “Please, Anna, don’t leave me! What can I do without you?”

Who was Anna? What happened? I wanted to open my eyes, but it was too much. Even the slightest move was hard.

“Anna, please, don’t leave me! If you die, I will kill myself too. How can I face another bully from Jack and his gang?” Another shaking on my body, then a devastated crying voice was louder. “Anna, what can I do without you? I’m not as strong and brave as you. Who will defend me when Jack wants to torture me?”

Torture? What on earth was happening here? I took a deep breath to say something, but my throat was dry. “W-water ….”

 “Oh, Anna! You are conscious! Thank You, the Highest One!” Then, the woman’s voice was gentler. “I will get you water.” 

After a moment, my body was pulled to the sitting position. “Here is your water. Anna, open your eyes.”

I wanted to open my eyes, but I couldn’t do it. I shook my head. “W-water ….”

The woman then gave me the water. I gulped it greedily. “More. I need more water.”

“Okay, please wait. I will get you more water.”

I took another breath and opened my eyes. I was on a thin, worn-out bed in a shabby room. Then, there was an ugly and smelly blanket that covered my body. I set it aside. 

Later, I remembered something. I opened my mouth and touched my teeth with my fingers. What’s going on? I shook my head. No! 

That was when the woman returned to the room with a glass of water. “Anna! You can open your eyes! Oh, Anna, you don’t know how relieved I am!” She put the glass on the table and then hugged me. “I thought you would die. You didn’t appear on the surface when Jack threw you into the lake. I thought you were drowning.”

My head was spinning. I couldn’t think. “Water, please.”

The woman helped me to drink more. “What are you feeling right now?”

“Much better, but why do you call me Anna? I’m not Anna. I’m Victoria.”

The woman frowned and shook her head. “No, you’re Anna—Anna Warren.”

“Who?” But then I realized I didn’t know her either. “So, who are you?”

“Oh, no! Maybe you lose your memory after drowning.” The woman then sat on the chair next to the bed since the bed was too small for us. “I’m Melanie Wood. You used to call me Mel. You are Anna Warren. We are twenty-five, Omega in the Wild Wolves Pack.”
