No Love But A Contract

"Miss Lopez, here it is." Sophie Lopez was a little hesitant. She was shocked when Lawyer Mr. Edwin, the driver, started to talk.

She responded, "Oh" softly.

"Miss Lopez, I am not going inside with you. The first room on the right above is the master bedroom ..." Lawyer Mr. Edwin left.

Sophie Lopez stood on the steps, looked at the three-story European-style villa in front of her, and watched Mr. Edwin driving away.

A month ago, the day Sophie Lopez received the college admission notice, she was so happy, but when she got home, she found that her mother was lying on the floor in the kitchen. The freezing cold was originally thought turned out to be acute leukemia.

After admission, Mrs. Lopez was undergoing chemotherapy while expecting for a suitable bone marrow. Listening to the car going away, Sophie Lopez shoved the door and entered the villa. They should have been prepared for a long time. The lights in the villa were all on. She glanced inside the house and did not see anyone. She mechanically went to the second floor.

She opened the door of the master bedroom, seeing that the floor was covered with pure white carpets, and the orange light filled the room warmly. She looked up inside the room. The sofa was also covered with pure white blankets. There were also white beds and white curtains. The curtains were slightly open. Inside was a huge ground glass window.

Sophie Lopez couldn't help clenching her fists, and walked to the large glass window and looked outside where everything seemed to be mocking her.
