In the third year of my crush, I became Donald's shield.
"Call me honey, and I will give you one hundred thousand."
"Honey!" I shouted.
.
"Will you call me that regardless of whether I give you money or not?" Donald was frightened by me and put away his playful smile.
.
I fell silent.
1.
Because of this incident, Donald ignored me for a month and even blocked me on WhatsApp.
.
I didn't understand what he was mad about.
But I knew I needed money and couldn't sit still. So I could only go to the bar to find him.
Especially when I saw another girl with him, I didn't dare to slack off.
"Donald." Seeing a girl approaching Donald, I hurried over and sat beside him.
.
With the collar of his shirt open, he glanced at me, put his arm around my waist, and squinted at the girl beside him, "Aren’t you leaving?"
.
The girl looked a little surprised.
Watching the girl go away, I pushed away Donald's hand, which was gradually tightening, wanting to leave, but he grabbed my neck.
"It hurts."
"Gee."
Donald was quite drunk. He glanced at the drinks on the table and looked suddenly interested, and said casually,
"Accompany me to finish these drinks, and I will give you half a million."
I froze.
Donald's tone was contemptuous, but I had long been used to it. I was just a little hesitant.
"Are you drinking it or not?" Donald asked.
.
For the sake of money, I blurted out, "Yes!"
2.
It turned out that five hundred thousand was quite hard to earn. After drinking half of the wine on the table, I got so drunk that I couldn’t see clearly...
.
"Damn!"
Donald sneered and said softly, "Isn't it easy to scrape money from me?"
I didn’t say anything.
I frowned and picked up another glass of wine. I tried hard to stay awake and said sweetly, "I just want to make you happy."
.
Donald paused slightly with his hand holding the wine glass and glanced at it lightly.
I knew.
Many people flattered him like this. But a smiling face always worked better.
"Donald." I wanted to vomit, but I continued when I thought of half a million, "If I drink all of it, are you going to give me half a million?"
.
.
Donald tossed out a bank card.
I froze.
I asked, "What's the password?"
Donald said, "202244."
I gritted my teeth, raised my hand, and put the bank card into my pocket.
I drank more. When I looked at Donald, I saw two of him. But the more I looked at him, the more I liked him...
.
His face was handsome. When I first saw him, I liked it.
.
.
But unfortunately, he was a handsome playboy. Sometimes I didn't even have time to learn his girlfriend's name before he dated a new one.
.
3.
He was generous. None of the girls who separated from him would speak ill of him.
But his family finally knew about his flirtatious nature. For this reason, he could only find a shield girl with good character and grades to give his family an explanation.
As the student with the highest GPA grade, I became that shield girl.
At first, I didn't want to agree.
But I had no choice. My family was short of money. Donald gave me a necklace, which cost as much as my four-year living expenses and my grandma’s medical expenses combined...
I choked on the wine, but I didn't dare stop. Otherwise, I would feel uneasy when talking about money.
"You are desperate for money." Donald grabbed my wrist.
.
I couldn't help coughing. I felt terrible.
Donald was stunned for two seconds. Then he pulled me into his arms and patted my back lightly.
"Thank… thank you." I was slightly startled. I didn’t dare to get too close to him and sat aside in embarrassment, afraid that my heart would beat too fast and he would notice something wrong with me.
.
With his hand hanging in the air, Donald glanced at me, and his expression became colder,
"You’re wearing black-rimmed glasses in the bar. Are you afraid you won't disgrace me?"
I said nothing.
I was stunned for two seconds. I quickly removed my glasses, and my vision was suddenly blurred, but I could still feel Donald's annoyance.
"Don’t… be angry." I cleared my throat, still putting the most important things first, "This final paper, if you don't write it, you won't be able to submit it in time."
.
.
Donald glanced at me, "You are boring. In addition to money, you’re only thinking about the study?"
I was silent.
Donald got up and left.
Sitting on the sofa alone, I put on my glasses at a loss and suddenly felt my stomach churning. I could only run towards the bathroom.
4.
"Hey, Donald, I didn't expect that there would be girls you can't get."
“Her? Come on. I’m not that desperate."
"Haha…" As soon as Donald finished it, the boy beside him couldn't stop laughing.
.
With my hand on the faucet, I vaguely heard their footsteps. I tried to run in a panic, but I bumped into them head-on.
"Oh, isn't she…"
"I… I just came to wash my hands." I was a little at a loss when I met Donald's gaze, so I explained.
.
.
Fortunately, Donald ignored me, walked to the sink, washed his hands, and left.
.
Later, I withdrew 500,000. When I heard that my grandma’s condition was stable, I didn’t want to show up in front of Donald every day, so I could concentrate on preparing the final paper.
The preparation lasted a week.
At the door of the printing shop, people started to go home with their suitcases one after another.
"Well, stop looking. We can't go back. The epidemic is too serious." My roommate complained in a muffled voice, "My dad lost his business again."
.
I lowered my eyes and said nothing.
My grandma had been seriously ill and lifeless. The family business couldn't continue. My dad had no choice but to flee from debt. I was forced to face this alone...
My wealth was in shambles.
Sometimes, there was no hope in my life at all.
Donald was my only life-saving straw when I was on the verge of breaking down.
"May, after printing the paper, let's go to the basketball court, okay? I heard that there is a competition between two departments."
