Kira's pov
I watched as Zara ran towards me in excitement and though I expected it, I still almost lost my balance as she jumped on my body.
"Hey, girlfriend!" Zara screamed.
I couldn't help but laugh out loud.
Zara had always been the crazy one while I forever remained the calm and reserved one. Well, she had the liberty of being crazy and doing whatever she wanted due to her father's wealth, and talking about her father, my heart did a double jump.
"So how was your journey?" I heard Zara asking and her voice brought me out of my reverie.
"Oh, stressful." I managed to say.
I had been thinking about her dad when she had asked me that question and that was the only thing I could come up with, though the journey was stressful.
"So sorry about that! I told my dad that we should send the private jet to come pick you up but he said he was going to use it to go on a business trip." Zara pouted.
Zara had always been a spoilt brat even before her parent's divorce and she became even more spoilt after the divorce because her father tried to make it up to her by giving in to her every whims and caprices.
"Oh Zara, that would have been too much! You know I am the reserved type." I said.
"Nonsense! Absolute nonsense!" Zara crowned. "You are my best friend and you deserve everything I can offer."
"Except for your father," I muttered under my breath.
"Excuse me? Did you say something?" Zara asked.
"No babes, I was just talking to myself." I denied.
"Hmmm, that's odd." Zara fluttered her eyelids as she directed me toward the black GLE that was waiting for us.
The guard opened the door for me and I entered. I inhaled deeply at the fragrance that assaulted my nostrils.
Zara's father was not a man to spare any expenses when it comes to automobiles and making them feel good when you enter.
"So how is your dad?" I asked Zara.
"He is fine, he will be coming back by Monday which means that we have the whole weekend to ourselves!" Zara answered.
I could not help but smile. Zara's enthusiasm was contagious but I also felt a bit disappointed.
I wanted to see her father Mr. Blake as it has been a long time since I last saw him which was at Zara's eighteenth birthday party before we both got into separate collages.
"You don't seem excited," Zara whined.
"Oh! That's not it, I am excited but it's just that I'm feeling tired and stressed from the journey." I explained.
"So sorry, my bad, I did not think about that but don't you worry, I will allow you to rest for today but tomorrow, we are going to party!" Zara said.
I barely managed to smile but I knew that whether I was excited about the party tomorrow or not, Zara was not giving me the choice to say no.
