Rose's POV
"Grandpa, I already told you, I don’t want a bodyguard. It would only draw attention, and I don’t want that," I said. My grandfather is Alejandro Deniro, though not by blood. He was the father of my adoptive mother. I was adopted into one of the wealthiest families in Country C.
To get him back, my adopted father's former lover claimed me as their daughter before their relationship ended. Fortunately, my father wasn’t a fool. Without her knowledge, my father had done his investigation and found out everything.
Rachel, my father’s former lover and a man who harbored feelings for my adoptive mother, was sent to prison after their plan about me was discovered. That’s a different story that only my parents can tell. After that, as a child, I was worried about being alone. Luckily, I was able to make a good relationship with my Mommyly, my adoptive mother now loves me unconditionally.
To make a long story short, I moved to Grandpa's after high school. Now, this old man here, after handing me his company, told me that I needed a bodyguard. "You would need Sean, and I would only feel at ease if I knew he was with you all the time." He replied.
"I am capable of taking care of myself. What's the use of all the training I have gone through if you would require me to have a bodyguard?" I reasoned it out.
"Sean is not just there to protect you. He will also teach and train you, whether it be in running the business or in physical strength. We both know that what you know about self-defense is not enough. You need more, and Sean can help you out."
"I can do the training, but not the bodyguard thing." I insisted.
"If you cannot follow me on this, I will let someone else manage the company, and you can leave my house and go back to your mom and dad." He threatened me, and I stood up. He knew I couldn't leave him. Not because of his money or connections, but because he knew that my concern and love for him were real.
Another thing is that I didn't want to worry my mom about him. She never grew up with him, and I'm sure she wanted someone to look after him and tell her if anything happened.
"Fine, fine, just make sure to tell him not to act irrationally and show up all the time when I can handle things myself." I agreed before he could take a step. He looked at me with a smile on his face.
"Thank you so much, my dear," he said happily.
"I am only doing this because I didn't want to leave you. Mom will get mad at me if I go and leave your side."
"So was it only because of your mom that you're here?" He asked, sadly, so I rolled my eyes at him.
