Stepping down from the bus, I grabbed my bag and hurriedly made my way to the skyscraper no one in New York could miss.
Once inside the building, I quickly stooped to fix my loosening shoe laces, next was my tie which hung loosely from my neck. And that was when I saw the elevator door closing.
"Wait! Wait!" I yelled at the top of my lungs as I raced to the door.
"Phew!" I sighed in relief once I got in. Hurriedly, I knotted my tie.
It was only when I was done that I raised my gaze and threw it about the elevator.
Tilting my head, I eyed the man that stood at my left.
Hands at his side, he stared plain faced ahead.
I trailed my eyes up and down the impressive lenght of the man's body and didn't know when I blew a whistle.
Darn! This man's tall!
The sound of my whistle must have attracted his attention, cause he turned to look at me.
That was when I froze.
Raven black hair, lightest of grey eyes, a firmly set jawline, lips that performed wonders. All of these, I slowly took in and let my mouth hang open in disbelief.
Was this really him? What on earth was he doing here?
"You! What on earth are you..." I stopped and ran my eyes over him again, he was obviously dressed for work.
That's right he worked here.
Still staring at him, I tucked a stray strand of hair behind my ear. And for a moment, I wondered what my best friend would do if she were in the situation I found myself in right now.
You know, being in the office elevator with the man you got wasted with last night.
I darted my eyes away from his face to the ground, wondering if I should say hi.
Of course you should say hi, I thought to myself.
We met around seven in the evening, went to a bar together, drank, talked, I even brought him home and we had amazing sex all night.
I nodded to myself. When I brought my eyes back to his face, he had this weird stare.
"Hi," I managed to say but he just stared back.
"It's me Shelly, we met yesterday in the evening, remember? I didn't know you worked here."
A slow smile crept at the corners of his lips and instead of replying he just turned his face away.
Was he shy?
"Heh it's okay, we may have had fun last night but we're in the office now. Don't worry I understand, we've got to be professional. You know, separating work life from our personal lives. I can be quite professional you know?" I added.
Not adding to anything I said, he just stood there.
I knew I should stop talking right now cause it was getting embarassing but I just couldn't.
"So umm..." I cleared my throat. "I know we should be professional but then we're the only ones in here so maybe we could do a little chitchat?"
The door to the elevator swung open and he walked out.
"Heh!" I called out after him.
"Walking fast to match his pace, I spoke from behind him."
"Heh! Don't you think that's a little rude; walking out on me! You know umm, I was going to tell you that you were amazing."
Seeing he wasn't responding, I changed the conversation.
"Ok, fine let's not umm, let's not talk about last night since we're in the work place."
He just kept walking.
"Which floor's your office? Umm, hello?"
I called out but he kept walking, totally ignoring me.
Infuriated, I stopped in my tracks.
This man ignoring me was the same man who had turned me to various positions on my bed last. This same man was the reason the lace panties my bestie had gifted me were torn into shreds.
Balling my fist, I tried to suppress the rage that was slowly building up in me.
So he's a horny beast at night that fucks random women he picks from clubs but a decent office man by day?
Picking up my speed, I rushed towards him and grabbed his hand.
"Heh! I said I'm Shelly, the woman you fucked like mad last night."
The man then spoke, "I never did such thing."
This infuriated me.
"Heh! That isn't nice. Okay fine, let's say I wasn't the only woman you toyed around with yesterday but if there's anyone you shouldn't forget, it's me. We drank and talked all evening, then we had a long passionate night together.",
I searched his face for any signs of remembrance but he maintained the annoying straight face.
"You don't remember Liam, were you drunk?" I asked and watched him tilt his head in annoyance.
