Rain hammered against the asphalt as my sedan spun violently into the guardrail on the I-95. Blood trickled down my temple, stinging my eyes, while the rhythmic slap of the windshield wipers mocked my panic. Trembling, I dialed my husband, Clive. “Welcome to adulthood!” Dina was practically screaming to make herself audible to her friends amidst the loud beat of the music in the bar they were in.

“Yeah! Let’s rock the world!” Marlyn, or Marlon, the gay in the group, raised his mug of beer for a toast that everyone clinked mugs with.

“I am going to get drunk and get laid tonight,” Lexy, the only virgin in the group, daringly proclaimed.

“Ohhhh hohohoh, I am looking forward to that, baby,” Jake, the playboy in the class, quickly responded.

“You don’t have to bother because I am not going to pick such a clueless boy like you”, Lexy turned him down right away. Rudely to be taken, but Jake didn’t mind. He is used to her sassy attitude. That is one thing about Lexy, she doesn’t flirt, not to him or not to anyone he has seen her do so. She is not the kind of girl that gets swept on her feet when a guy approaches her with silly punch lines or something Jake is so talented to hook with girls. But she isn’t annoying either, she is just honest, confident, and Jake respects that in her.

“Cheers, babe!” Dina raised her beer mug to clink with Lexy again. “Guys, let’s help this virgin find whatever she is looking for tonight.”

“Yeah, what are your preferences?” Asked Kiara with a naughty wink.

“I am after someone mature, who won’t be a one pump-chump, and leave me hanging,” Lexy rolled her eyes as she flirtatiously stated.

Her words earned a loud roar from her friends. They exchanged high-fives as they burst out in merry laughter.

“How are you gonna find such a man, when you haven’t even been with anyone?” Teased Jake. “I can give you a little warm-up if you want, for friendship’s sake, I will sacrifice my body and lend my services to you.”

Lexy feigned retching at Jake’s words. The others in their group joined Lexy pretend to retch and the laughter roared again.

“I am sure with this crowd, I will find someone that will make my knees weak with his stares alone. A man with a captivating aura, animalistic bearing, and burning desire to take me, but not before worshiping my beauty,” Lexy smirked with exceeding confidence. She was starting to feel bold. Her confidence was hitting the roof and she herself was a bit astounded, but she could not deny the feeling.

“Good hunting, my friend!” Kenneth, her schoolmate ever since grade school cheered for Lexy.
