"Aren't you awake at this hour, Honey?" A handsome adult man entered a light blue room. As the man sat next to the bed, he gently tried to wake up his daughter, who was peacefully sleeping despite the warm sunlight pouring in through the windowpane. "Honey, come on, get up! It's morning. Don't you have a semester exam today?" said the adult man again. However, the girl who was woken up did not move at all.
"Ugh!" Aliya groaned, moving slightly.
"Aliya, come on, get up! If you don't get up now, i will pull you into the bathroom, and give you a cold shower." Revandra threatened Aliya, because he clearly knew that Aliya really hated bathing in cold water in the morning.
"Stop, Dad! Please, don't threaten me." Aliya immediately got up while rubbing her eyes after feeling threatened by Revandra.
"Honey, I don't want you to fail this semester's exams. Hurry up and take a shower and go to campus. Mr. Aris will take you.
"Daddy!" The girl glared at Revandra while placing her hand on Revandra's handsome face. She wondered why she had to be taken by the driver this time. Isn't it usually Revandra who does the driving?
"Okay, don't think too much. There will be guests coming to the house today. So, I can't drive you," Revandra explained to Aliya, who understood from the girl's look.
With a sour and sour face, Aliya stepped into the bathroom. Honestly, deep down, she was seething with anger at Revandra because she had sacrificed her first semester exam just to accommodate a guest. Even though today was her first semester exam.
"You bastard! He would rather meet other people than take his only daughter to campus." Aliya grumbled in the bathroom.
"What kind of guests will come to see?"
Revandra is an adult man who is still single, which does not mean he is not married. Revandra is now thirty-five years old, and he has successfully run his business in various fields. The man has a daughter named Aliya; nineteen years old. He loved her so deeply that he showered her with affection and met her every need, always within the boundaries of her own capabilities. However, the truth is that Aliya is not his biological daughter, but the child of a woman he married fifteen years ago for some reason, and after his marriage, the woman passed away. Since then, Revandara has cared for and looked after Aliya like his own daughter, and really loves the little girl.
After getting dressed, Aliya ran down the stairs. Revandra was found sitting at the dining table, accompanied by a cup of fragrant black coffee. Next to the coffee cup there is a laptop to check his work.
"Good morning, Dad," said Aliya while kissing her father on both cheeks.
"Morning, Honey," said Revandra returning his daughter's kiss as usual.
Then Revandra pulled out a chair for Aliya to sit while waiting for the waiter to prepare food for them. Not long after, the waiter brought food for them.
Aliya didn't focus on the food in front of her. Instead, her gaze remained fixed on the handsome face of the man whom she admired as her stepfather, while Revandra, noticing Aliya's questioning look, met her gaze.
"Why are you looking at me like that? Have I done something wrong to you, little girl?" Revandra asked probing.
"Dad has changed!" Aliya answered curtly.
"Aliya, could you clarify your statement?"
"You'd rather meet other people than take me to university." Aliya replied in a curt tone, and Revandra tried to explain. However, the girl did not accept any explanation. "I don't want to know! If you don't take me to the university, I won't talk to you anymore, Dad."
Seeing the deep sadness in his beloved daughter's eyes, Revandra felt his heart break, realizing that he had no other option but to cancel his meeting with this guest. He took a deep breath then exhaled slowly.
"Okay, I'll take you to the university." For the sake of his daughter, Revandra was forced to give in.
"Really?" Aliya asked, her face immediately changed to joy.
