Casual Turned Special

John starts finding excuses to go to the diner so he can learn more about Amy’s life and her selfless dedication to her daughter. Amy is guarded at first but starts to open up as she realises John is genuine in his interest to know her better. Over several encounters, John comes to admire Amy's resilience and optimism despite her difficult circumstances. An attraction and affection grows between these two very different people.

Over the next few weeks, John found every excuse to stop by Mama’s Kitchen again. He told himself he just enjoyed their greasy burgers, but deep down he knew he was growing fascinated by Amy, the single mom waitress with the chestnut hair and loving spirit.  

He started to time his visits so he could sit at the counter while Amy waited tables. He’d watch her kindly engage with customers, pouring extra coffee here or clearing a plate there. Every time she passed him, he’d exchange a polite smile and thank her generously for the smallest refill.
