It was a warm summer evening and Amanda had reluctantly agreed to go to a bar with her best friend Emily, who wanted to try a new place "The ONE". Amanda didn't really like bars, but Emily, her friend, had insisted that it should be fun and that they should meet people there.
"Come on girl, let's have a drink," Emily said, leading Amanda to the bar. "You need to relax a little."
Amanda burst out laughing, letting herself be carried away. As they reached the bar, she noticed a man standing nearby, his back to them. He was tall and broad shouldered, his black hair neatly styled. There was something about him that caught her attention, a magnetic attraction that she couldn't quite explain.
Emily ordered their drinks "Two glasses of red wine", and while Amanda waited, the man turned around. Their eyes met, and Amanda felt an electric jolt. He was surprisingly handsome, with piercing green eyes that seemed to see through her. He smiled, and Amanda's heart skipped a beat.
"Hi," he said, in a soft, confident voice. "I am Christopher."
"Amanda," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. "This is my friend, Emily".
"Nice to meet you, both," Christopher said, his smile widening. "It's your first time here, Amanda?"
Amanda nodded, suddenly feeling shy. "How did you guess?".
"You didn't seem to like the place".
Emily noticed that Amanda and Christopher seemed attracted to each other and decided to leave them alone. She sent a text to Amanda: "Girl, you better accept this gorgeous man's offer :) It's time to move on and forget about your stupid ex. I'm going to try and find a sexy man for tonight, xoxo."
Amanda laughed. "Anything you want to tell me?" He asked her. "No, Emily just sent me a joke".
She spent hours discussing with Christopher. Amanda found herself opening to Christopher in a way she hadn't had with anyone in years. There was something about him that made her feel safe, understood. As the night wore on, the bond between them deepened and Amanda found herself falling in love with him.
"I'm taking you home," Christopher said. Amanda agreed, wanting to spend more time with him, and they walked out. Christopher typed something on his cell phone. Suddenly, a sleek black Tesla parked in front of them, its headlights illuminating the street like a beacon. It was as if he had been summoned by magic. Christopher opened the car door for her with a flourish, his gaze lingering on her for a moment longer than necessary.
They settled into the soft leather seats of the Tesla, the silence punctuated only by the soft hum of the engine. Christopher asked her for her address, in a low and intimate voice. He leaned forward, his head close to the driver's window, and relayed the instructions, then rolled up the window.
"Champagne, love ?" he offered, taking a chilled bottle out of the car's small refrigerator.
