Alpha Edward and I were once deeply in love. But then, a tragic accident tore us apart. He thought I had abandoned him, and that belief turned him cruel. He forced me into a marriage full of humiliation, parading his affairs, especially with Alice, right in front of me. When he finally learned about all my sacrifices, he took his anger out on Alice and tortured her. Later, at my new engagement, he tried to save me, but I pushed him away. In the end, he knew the truth that all what I did was to protect him, yet it was already too late...

Chapter 1 Chapter 1

I was bound and gagged, crammed into the darkest corner of the room.

The clothes strewn chaotically, and the stench of sex hung heavy.

Edward, my husband and the Alpha of the Crescent Moon Pack, lay naked on the bed, his arm draped possessively around the waist of a blonde woman half - hidden beneath the sheets.

Edward lifted his head.

He turned to the woman beside him, his hand slowly trailing up her bare thigh.

"Darling, I think it's high time our dear wife here joined in the festivities. Show her how to really have a good time."

I thrashed against my rope bonds, but they held firm.

Suddenly, Edward's attention snapped back to me.

"Come on, don't be a prude. Crawl over here and please us."

Then, his gaze landed on a small, ornate box on the nightstand.

"Fetch that sex toy and bring it here."

"What's the matter? Too shy? Maybe I should have her do it instead, and you can watch." He nodded towards the blonde, who giggled eagerly.

I shuffled forward on my knees.

With great effort, I managed to open the drawer and grasp the sex toy. Crawling back, I held it out to him.

I caught a glimpse of a glint on the floor.

My heart stopped.

It was the delicate necklace my mother had given me on my eighteenth birthday.

My eyes shot to Edward. "Where did you get this?"

He shrugged nonchalantly. "Oh, that? She found it in your jewelry box. She liked it, so I told her she could keep it."

"Give it back," I tried to say, but it came out as a muffled plea.

She sneered. "Why should I? He gave it to me. It's mine now."

Before I could react, Edward's cold voice cut through the air.

"Enough of this. She's not giving it back. And if you don't like it, you'll just have to swallow your pride and endure."

Tears streamed down my face.

But this hadn't always been the case.

Alpha Edward and I had been inseparable since we first learned to shift into our wolf forms as children.

We'd romped through the moonlit forests, vowing that once we came of age, we'd seal our love with the mating ritual.

Then, something occurred. I had to sever all ties with Edward.

He dropped to his knees.

"Please, don't do this. I love you.

I'll become the greatest Alpha, I swear. Just don't leave me,"

I watched in horror as he chased me barefoot during a stormy night.

The rain lashed the windshield, and the road was slippery.

Suddenly, a large truck swerved out of control and crashed right into him.

Edward suffered a severe liver injury in the accident. He was rushed to the pack's hospital, where he had to undergo a life - saving liver transplant surgery.

The operation was a success, but it took him a long time to recover.

Even after he regained some strength, he limped on his still - healing body, using all his remaining strength to reach for the enchanted communication stones we'd been given as children. But every attempt to reach me was met with silence.

From that day, Edward's heart hardened against me.

He sparred with the most seasoned warriors in the pack, learning every combat technique and strategy.

It took him four grueling years, but he finally ascended to become the Alpha of the Crescent Moon Pack.

The first thing he did upon achieving this great feat was to use his new - found power to force me into marriage.

And then, the cruel game of humiliation began.

He brought home a stream of women, each more beautiful and alluring than the last, and made sure I was always there to watch.

But he never knew

My father, the previous revered Alpha of the Crescent Moon Pack, had discovered a power - hungry faction within our own ranks, in secret alliance with another pack.

My father, in his quest to expose this conspiracy, was betrayed.

The traitors, using dark underhanded tactics, staged a violent coup. They tore him apart.

After that, they set their sights on eliminating every potential threat, which included our entire family.

Once we learned of the danger, our family was forced to flee like hunted prey.

To protect Edward from being targeted by these ruthless traitors, I had no choice but to break his heart and mine.

During our escape, I heard the news of his accident. Risking everything, I transformed into my wolf form and ran through the night, my paws bleeding from the rough terrain.

I managed to sneak into the pack's hospital.

I stood over his unconscious form, tears streaming down my face. But before he could wake, I had to leave, disappearing into the night like a ghost.

I never could have imagined the depth of the traitors' cruelty. They tracked down our family, one by one.

Our elderly relatives were mercilessly slaughtered. My mothe and my brave younger brother were both brutally killed.

I survived by a stroke of pure luck.

My eyes blazed with a blood - red fury.

Noticing my bloodshot eyes, Edward spoke coldly. "What, are you about to claim you had some noble reasons back then?"

Pulling myself together, I just shook my head. "No reasons. You're right. I'm just a shallow, vanity - driven gold - digger."

I couldn't reveal the truth to him back then.

Now, I had made up my mind to continue hunting down the traitors. The mission was almost a suicide mission.

Perhaps soon, I would be reunited with my family.

Edward, in a fit of drunken arrogance, decided to "grant" me a "favor." He roughly cut the ropes binding my hands, but only to use me as a personal servant for the rest of their depraved night.

"Clean up this mess," he slurred, gesturing to the disheveled room. "And be quick."
