He backed her against the wall, his voice a low growl. "Don't call me uncle." A teasing smirk touched her lips. "I gave you everything," she whispered. "But you said I was your partner's daughter. That it could never work. The choice was always yours." Prince Matthew's hand cradled her throat, his dominance a palpable force. "The age gap is nothing! only few years. I am not your uncle." The fear of losing her shattered his control. His mouth crashed down on hers in a searing, desperate kiss. His mind screamed that she was forbidden, but his body craved her, and his wolf demanded to claim its mate. With a final surrender, he pressed his teeth to her neck, marking her forever. "You are mine," he vowed possessively. "Only mine." As a billionaire hiding his identity as the next Alpha King, control was his currency. He never expected to fall for his best friend's rebellious daughter. One night was a mistake. A second was a betrayal. But claiming her as his mate? That was a risk he was finally willing to take.

Chapter 1 1

Prince Mathew.

My private jet's wheels had just kissed the tarmac in England. Finally. A couple of days to myself. No board meetings, no contracts, just peace and quiet. I was so ready for this. I hadn't even made it to my waiting limo when my cell phone started buzzing like an angry hornet. I pulled it out, and my heart just sank. It was Alex, my business partner. Seriously? He couldn't handle a single weekend without me?

"You have got to be kidding me," I mumbled to the chilly English air. I was mentally and physically running on fumes, completely exhausted. I desperately needed these next forty-eight hours to just shut my brain off and breathe. I was this close to just ignoring the call.

With a groan, I grabbed the phone and answered, my voice dripping with annoyed sarcasm. "Well, hello there! Did you miss me already or what? Can't handle the big chair for two days?" I tried to sound like I was joking, but the irritation was real.

"Hey, Mathew. Look, I am really sorry for bugging you on your weekend. I know you just landed. But this is urgent, man. It really is," Alex said. He didn't just sound stressed; he sounded just as annoyed as I felt, which was weird.

My business-brain instantly took over, pushing my personal frustration aside. "What's wrong? Did something happen with the Singapore deal? Did the numbers fall through?" A spike of genuine worry shot through me. That deal was huge.

He let out a long, tired sigh. "No, no, it's nothing like that. Thank God. Please, just listen, and don't interrupt me, okay? Since you're already over there in England, I need a massive, massive favor. I have nowhere else to turn."

I took a deep breath, trying to force myself to be calm. "Okay, okay. I'm listening. You have my full attention. What's going on?"

"It's about my daughter, Viola. She's at a private school over there. I just got a call from the principal. He says she got into a huge fight, something about her smashing some guy's bones? It sounds insane. I'd jump on a plane right now, but you know that's a ten-hour flight, minimum. And with you gone, I can't just abandon the office. So, I was hoping... I need you to go meet the principal for me. Please." He explained it all in a rushed, defeated tone. He was my partner, my brother in everything but blood. I didn't even have to think about it.

My answer was immediate, but my personal dread was screaming. "Um... Okay. Yeah, I can do that. Don't even worry about it." I tried to sound more enthusiastic than I felt. The truth was, I absolutely hated kids. Couldn't stand them. "Just text me the name and address of the school. I'll take care of everything and call you back once I know what's going on."

His relief was palpable, even through the phone. "Thank you, Mathew. Seriously, thank you. You are the best brother and partner anyone could ask for. I owe you one."

"It's really okay, Alex... Anytime. I'll call you later." I hung up the phone and just frowned, staring at my limo. A storm of irritation and pure disbelief swirled inside me.

"Unbelievable! I can't even get one fucking weekend to myself? Not one?" I muttered under my breath, angrily gesturing for my security guard to open the damn limo door for me.

I'm an Alpha, for fuck's sake! The urge to just scream my secret at Alex was overwhelming. But what would I even say? 'Hey, Alex, just a quick heads-up... I'm a werewolf. Oh, and surprise, I'm the Alpha. And in ten days, on my twenty-fifth birthday, I'm taking the throne and becoming the king of the entire werewolf kingdom!' Yeah, that would go over great. He'd either think I'd lost my mind completely or he'd have a heart attack from sheer terror.

I slid into the back of the luxurious limo and checked my messages. Sure enough, the school's name and address were there. But then what Alex had said finally truly registered in my brain. His daughter smashed some guy's bones? How in the world does a young girl do something like that? What kind of school was this?

I let out a short, disbelieving laugh and leaned forward to talk to my driver. "Change of plans. Take me to this address first." I'd deal with this bizarre situation quickly, then finally get to my hotel for my long-awaited peace and quiet.

After about thirty minutes of driving, we reached the school. It was in the absolute middle of nowhere. The place didn't look like a school; it looked like a grim, ancient prison someone had tried to disguise as a castle. It was all dark stone and towering, imposing walls.

Why would Alex send his kid all the way out here to a place like this? Maybe she was a real handful, needed some serious taming. But she had to be so young! Alex was only thirty-two, just a few years older than my twenty-four. I figured Viola must be some kind of child genius, maybe twelve years old or something, right? She couldn't possibly be older than that.

My thoughts were cut short as we passed through the massive, creaking iron gates. The place was dead silent. I didn't see a single soul-not a student, not a teacher. It was eerie, like walking into a ghost town. My guards and my assistant followed close behind me as I headed straight for the principal's office.

Suddenly, the silence was broken. I spotted a young girl, looking feisty and full of fire, yelling at a group of cowering boys. I stopped in my tracks and just watched her. She had this wild energy about her. She noticed me staring and immediately turned her anger on me.

"What the hell are you looking at, huh?" she snapped, her voice sharp and rude. "Do I look like some kind of monkey in a zoo to you? Stop staring!"

And that's when it happened. My heart did this weird, crazy flutter against my ribs. Her scent hit my nose-a mix of vanilla and something wild-and it just stuck there, like it belonged. It felt like she was... mine.

"Yes, you idiot! She is your mate!" my wolf growled loudly inside my head, interrupting my total confusion.

"No! Absolutely no fucking way! That's impossible! She's a human!" I mentally snapped back at my wolf, trying to shut down the insane idea.

Before I could even process this or respond to her outrageous attitude, a door swung open down the hall. The principal stuck his head out and yelled at the girl, "Viola Alex! Get in this office. Right now!"

My jaw almost hit the floor. "What the hell?! That's Viola?! That's Alex's daughter?!" She didn't look twelve. She looked like a young woman. I rolled my eyes, completely thrown off. "Is that... is that really Viola Alex?" I asked the principal, my tone full of shock.

The principal, a nervous-looking man, nodded vigorously. "Yes, sir, I'm afraid it is. And you must be Mr. Mathew York. Mr. Alex called and said you would be... um... taking care of her this weekend." He said it like it was a settled fact.

My head was spinning. "What? Whoa, wait, no. Taking care of her for the whole weekend? There must be some misunderstanding. I'm just here to figure out what happened today and solve the immediate problem. That's the only favor I agreed to," I said, my tone making it very clear I was not signing up for a two-day babysitting gig.

Viola had already stormed off and disappeared into the office. The principal just ushered me inside, looking completely defeated. He sat down behind his big desk and sighed like he carried the weight of the world.

"Mr. Mathew, I don't think you fully understand the situation we're dealing with here. Please, let me explain," he began, rubbing his temples.

I let out my own annoyed breath. "Okay. Fine. I'm listening. Please, go on."

He offered a weak, tired smile. "As you might have just seen, Viola is a very... rebellious. And troubled. She gets into physical fights almost daily, like she's one of the boys. This latest incident... she nearly shattered our star quarterback's arm." He paused, trying to find the right words.

He continued, his voice dropping. "Do you have any idea about her background? She's been a student at this school since she was two years old. This facility used to be a kindergarten and elementary school before it became a high school. She's never really fit in, never adapted. Her father... he only manages to visit her once a year. She's brilliantly smart, but she has... issues. There's just so much anger and hatred boiling inside that girl." As he explained, I felt an unexpected pang of sympathy for her. She sounded incredibly lonely.

I thought I was starting to get the picture. Alex had once mentioned a mistake he made as a teenager, a short-lived relationship that resulted in a daughter.

I cut the principal off. "How old is she exactly?" I asked, needing to confirm if my assumption was right.

"She's eighteen years old," he replied plainly.

"Shit," I cursed under my breath. I was so wrong. I rubbed my chin, thinking. "Okay. Alright. So, you said she kicked the quarterback's butt, right? There has to be a reason. Viola doesn't seem like the type to just start a fight for no reason." I raised an eyebrow, now genuinely intrigued. She was Alex's daughter, after all. My friend's kid. My human friend, but still, family.

The principal shifted uncomfortably in his chair. "Well, yes, sir. The boy, Jake... he was actually her boyfriend. She, um, she caught him secretly kissing another girl in the hallway." He said it so casually, like it was a minor thing. But it sounded like a pretty solid reason to me.

"So, it wasn't some random act of violence. It was a reaction to him cheating. So why are you talking about her like she's some kind of insane monster?" I said, my tone growing irritated again. His description of her was starting to feel unfair.

"Because this is just the latest explosion, Mr. York! She's a walking fireball! She yells, she curses like a sailor, she smashes things when she's angry. She's in a fight or some kind of trouble every single day. She doesn't need another detention or even expulsion. She needs her father! She needs to be punished and shown some real structure!" he mumbled, sounding like a man at the very end of his rope.

I finally nodded, beginning to see his frustrating perspective. "Okay, I think I get it. So what you really need is for her to be removed from the school for a few days. Let things cool off. Let someone try to... I don't know, tame the beast inside her?" I phrased it carefully.

He actually chuckled a little at my wording. "Something very much like that, yes. A few days away won't hurt her academic progress. Her final exams aren't for another two weeks. She could come back then to finish her last year. Could you possibly do that? Please? I am being completely honest with you, sir, I have run out of ideas. I cannot control that girl anymore." He was practically pleading with me, his voice full of desperation.

I shrugged my shoulders. It seemed like the only solution. "I guess I can manage that. But I have one condition first. Before I agree to anything, I want to meet this ex-boyfriend. I want to hear his side of the story myself."

It wasn't really a negotiation tactic; I was just curious. I wanted to look this guy in the eye and see what kind of person he was.

The principal nodded silently and called for his assistant. A young office boy appeared a moment later after a soft knock on the door.

"Yes, sir?" the boy said.

"Please go and bring Jake, the quarterback, to my office immediately," the principal commanded. The boy nodded and scurried away.

We waited in awkward silence for a few minutes until the office door opened again. In walked a guy who was huge-muscled like a bodybuilder, almost as tall as a tree. He had pale skin and blue eyes. And he was a mess. One of his hands was in a cast and his face was covered in nasty bruises and cuts.

I was utterly dumbfounded. I couldn't help but blurt it out. "Wait, are you seriously telling me that Viola did all of that to you?!" It seemed physically impossible.

The guy, Jake, actually flinched when he heard her name. "Yes, she did! And please, don't ever say her name around me again. She's an animal, a complete tiger. I hate her now. I totally regret ever asking her to be my girlfriend." He was visibly shaken.

I stood up, slowly walking over to him. I gave him a long, scrutinizing look from head to toe. "Alright, Jake. Let's hear it. Start from the beginning. Tell me exactly what happened and why she felt the need to do... all this to you." My voice was calm but firm.

He gulped nervously under my intense gaze, then looked over at the principal for help, his eyes wide with worry.
